  Everyone remembers the stories their parents told them when they were little; about dragons, fairies, princes and princesses, huge tracks of land* (wait how did that-...), and all the other odd creatures that roam the realms of fantasy. One all children hear is Alice in Wonderland, the young girl who falls down the rabbit hole and goes on a fantastic adventure with evil queens, talking animals, and singing midgets. It's a cute tale to be sure, well, that version is. The real story is much more horrific and involves drug abuse, rape, and lunacy on a level most human adults can't comprehend. But even that version doesn't hold the truth behind the fairy tale as the original tomes weren't stories at all, but a history.
The realm of Wonderland is not wholly unlike it's depicted on paper, the wild overgrowth, the quaint towns, the giant castles, but there's more than just Alice and the Cheshire Cat: Snow White dwells not far from the Queen of Hearts, Princesses have taken tea with the Mad Hatter, and Rapunzel gets high with the giant Caterpillar. All the figures of your childhood fantasies live together, not quite harmoniously, in Wonderland.

Rules and Guidelines
Follow the Gaia TOS above all else. Haven't read it? The link is at the bottom of every page.
No God-Modding, Power Playing, or Meta-Gaming. These are all explained in the "RP School" In the Main Forum of this guild.
Romance is fine but if you start getting too frisky take it to PM. I don't mind if you want people to hook up to create drama, advance plot lines, or just for fun, but I don't want to read all the details.
In accordance with the above rule, keep everything PG-13 or below as demanded by the Gaia TOS. The rule is pretty lax (I mean, take a look at a PG-13 movie these days. I'm 21 and I don't think some of them are appropriate for me!) but if I see something getting out of hand I'll let you know.
Because I like a good power-trip, I am God here. If anything bad happens I'll deal with it. Go ahead and argue about it in the OOC sub-forum but I'll have the final say in the RP. I'm a kind benevolent ruler though, just don't piss me off with pointless squabbles.
Lastly, have some freakin' fun! The Brothers Grimm has set up a wonderful world for us to explore and do crazy stuff in. Make the most of it!
Character Creation
OCs here will be fine and encouraged but we also need some natives! Below I will list characters from the Fairy Tales that your more than welcome to take over. Be warned though, they need profiles too! Also, feel free to give them whatever personalities you want. Rapunzel likes to get stoned with the Caterpillar, remember? Come up with things that people may never have thought of for these classic characters! In addition, most of the characters need names. There are lots of Princes that are just pretty faces.

Gaia Name: Officer Jarhead
Character Name: William Henry Harper
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance: Will is roughly six feet tall, with unruly dark hair and dark gray eyes. His face is unusually thin for a human looking very lined for his age. This leads people to think that he is a 'stoner' of some sort- but he's not. His jaw is sharply lined, and covered in rough, dark stubble. He generally wears jeans and cowboy boots, with some sort of a t-shirt or button-up. His style would be considered South-Western American.
Personality: Will doesn't really care about anything, usually- or at least it doesn't seem like it. He is usually very good at hiding his emotions if that is what he wants to do. He had a ferocious temper when unleashed, but he is usually silent and brooding in the back of the room. For him to talk is rare- maybe it is because people like to make fun of his slow drawl and accent. But he's not as dumb as he sounds.- or else how could he have been a detective? He likes to sleep and be with family. If you don't mess with him, he won't mess with you, really.
History: Henry was a New Orleans detective before landing himself in wonderland. He wasn't all that great of one, though, and he wasn't strict at all with his job. He is more of a lazy cowboy-sort than anything. He doesn't know how in the world he landed up in this crazy place- the last thing he remembers was having a little too much fun at some bar.
Likes: a good drink and a cigarette, quiet, and the occasional party, chicken, coffee, a good home-cooked meal
Dislikes: rowdy people, idiots, people that interrupt his sleep, burnt chicken, flat beer, socks

Character Name: Mad Hatter aka Hatty
Fairy Tale: Alice in Wonderland
Age: Physically he is 19, in reality no one knows
Gender: Male
Appearance: Hatty stands at a surprising 5'10" (not including the hat of course) with a rather slender build that packs an unexpected amount of muscle. His hair is the color of straw and his eyes change color constantly, slipping from hues of red to purple to orange and anywhere else on the color spectrum just because. His clothes are a bit odd, serving no real function other than to be weird. His attire consists of a split tail over coat, collared shirt, top hat, gloves, and simple white gloves all with elegant designs scrawling across them.
Personality: The Mad Hatter is rather less "mad" then people usually think he is. Oh, he's quite demented and insane, but it only comes out in spurts and he's just quiet and fidgety the rest of the time. His madness actually spawns from his incredible intelligence. For most of his life he's done nothing but seek out answers to everything, like how crickets chirp or why barnacles evolved to be stationary. It was his drive for knowledge that drove him mad. Eventually he hit a paradox that he couldn't wrap his head around and in trying to find the answer he snapped. His judgment of what was right and wrong, good and evil, became incredibly skewed. Now he just knows the facts, can predict with vague certainty events to come, and follows his primal instincts.
Real Fantasy Role: The Mad Hatter loves tea parties, just as Disney tells innocent children, but they're a bit more regimented that the wild party Alice supposedly found herself in. You see, Hatty thinks of tea time as a religious practice almost, it must happen at precisely one o'clock in the afternoon, there must be four place settings and four attendants, and everyone has to wait about the table participating in amicable conversation until the last person is finished. Alice found herself wandering by just before tea was to be served and Hatty had been a guest short thanks to the Queen of Hearts. He ordered his other two guests, the March Hare and Dormouse, to grab Alice and force her to the table so that tea time could go according to schedule.
For the rest of the time the Mad Hatter is generally hidden away in his tilted house where even the sun can't find him. When he was called for the trial against Alice the Queen simply dismissed him after just a few moments of being on the stand. The only word he uttered when questioned was "Biscuits" so the Queen, in a great huff, ordered his head to be removed but, slippery as usual, the Mad Hatter just walked out unharmed.

Fairy Tale: Alice In Wonderland

Gender: Female
Appearance: Alice is short for her age, about 5'2.(before she drinks the "drink me" bottle) She is really slender and sick looking but at the same time her white, short hair makes her face look beautiful. she wears a short blue dress, white stockings, and red shoes.
Personality: Alice has always been really shy and curious. Her only true friend was her cat Dinah. Alice always has good advice but she never does take it. Mostly Alice spends her time dreaming of a made up land to escape to. She finds comfort in talking to herself, but that doesnt mean that she is crazy, just alone.
Real Fantasy Role: After being bored and talking to Dinah, Alice drifted off to a deep sleep on top of a tree branch like the story. When she awoke there was a white rabbit with a watch panting and running into a rabbit hole while screaming "im late". Of course with Alice's curiosity she follows the rabbit and slips into the hole and into the world of wonderland. Utterly confused, she looks around at the different world and wonders around trying to find something or someone who can make sense of everything.
Likes: animals, creating worlds, exploring.
Dislikes: rude people, books with no pictures, being confused.

The Beginning
Humans
You don't remember much from your life outside Wonderland. As you tumbled down the rabbit hole your memories slowly began to slip away, each surfacing to give you one last fleeting glimpse of the life you once had. Now, you lay sore and confused on the woodland floor surrounded by florescent fauna of the most amazing colors while a darkening sky glints through the dense forest canopy.

Life carries on as it always has. Whether your cleaning house, hunting wild game, or crying for heads to be chopped off there seems to be nothing unusual in Wonderland. That is until a brief, subtle light flashes across the sky. You know something has happened and a few of you might know exactly what since this has occurred before. But it's certain things are about to change.
