Welcome to the Dark City
Vampires, you know the stories and legends right? How they drink blood, and cannot step into the light? What don't we know about Vampires? We don't know about THEM. A new breed of Vampires, in the last century or so a new race has emerged to upsurp the balance of power that the Nightwwalking Vampires have sustained for centuries. This new breed of Vampires have the ability to step into the light of the sun unharmed and have no use for coffins or sleep for that matter. All they need is more blood. All Vampires of the Light have white hair, it's in their blood, their heritage. The original Vampires of the Night, are now sneered upon by their white haired counterparts, for they are lesser beings, in the eyes of the Daywalking Vampires, and can be killed without remorse.
The only city in this world in which both humans and Immortals live together, is Naught. But the various races certainly do not co exist in harmony. In fact there is currently a war going on between the Vampires. Centuries old Nightwalkers are banding together to bring the young Daywalkers under their control. The ravenous Daywalkers with their ability to walk in day light feed uncontrollably constantly outside the hidden boundries of the city, recklessly endangering the persecuted inhabitants of Naught.
Although there are a few places where racial barriers are thrown down in the heat of the moment, like Noir a night club for interspieces mingling, for example, where everyone goes to dance and drink the night away. The Park is another example, where restless teenagers of all races go to fight it out in organized battles (although it does get out of hand from time-to-time). And then, there's the Bloody Mary's bar, mostly the customers are Vampires, but they serve all kinds of beverages for the other races as well. Now besides killing one another, the the two Vampires are Vamping the humans at an alarming rate, so that they prehaps can either can tip the scales in their favor. How will the other inhabitants of Naught deal with the war waging between both breeds of Vampire? And which breed of Vampire will win the war?
Will you be a Human and become a pawn in this war? Or will you be an inhabitant caught in the middle? Will you be a Child of the Light, and sneer apon the Children of the Dark? Or will you be a Child of the Dark, and live in fear of the Children of the Light? Which side will you join?

Rules
Activity - Because I don't want the role play to die, members are going to be expected to post at least four times a week though not more than seven times a day, quality over quantity I don't want to come back and see a billion pages from where I left off, I'm sure others will feel the same way. Also this is a long term role play and I want it to last for as long as possible. If you're going to be away or cannot post for a while, please PM me. If you are waiting for someone to reply to your post, post in the OoC thread while you wait. You can get to know the other members that way and at least we'll all know that you're still alive. Character - People aren't perfect and neither will the characters in this role play. Your character must have some flaws. Everything is a lot more interesting that way then having characters that are super nice and always friendly and smart. But that doesn't mean that you should make a character that is always going to be crying throughout the whole role play or something like that. Be creative and have a unique character. It gets boring if every character is just like the other. Girls may play guys and vise versa. You may create more then one character but no more than three. Fun - Feel free to add a little drama and even chaos to the role play. That is always loved. We want you to have fun here and for that to happen, we need everyone to be respected. Do go lamming each others posts and make sure to include others. If someone if role playing alone, try to role play with them and for those of you who are role playing alone, try to get in on a conversation with the other members. We need you to put out an effort as well. Joining - To join Darkest Light The City of Naught please fill out a profile skeleton and then PM it to me. If you have any questions or anything, feel free to PM me and don't be afraid to reserve a spot if you want. Literacy - One-liners will not be allowed even when you have a writer's block I demand at least a paragraph if not more. Be at least semi-lit. Post in past tense and in third person. Type out your words and use complete sentences. Do not use chat speak. Capitalize when necessary and use punctuation and all that good stuff. People make mistakes so don't worry you have a few typos here and there . So as long as your post in understandable, then it shouldn't be a problem. Try to reread your post or use spell check, it really helps. Post - In posts, you are allowed to cuss as much as you want as long as it's not every other word or something like that. Do not make quote towers. They stretch the page and it looks really messy. If you plan to type OoC in this thread, make sure you have some sort of brackets to indicate it. (Ex. {{}}, [[]], (()), or something like that.). Feel free to pretty up your posts however you want. Ratings - Romance is allowed but make sure it doesn't go above PG13. So that also means that there will be no cybering. Fighting and violence is also allowed but don't have yours characters bickering in every single post. Make sure you follow the ToS. More rules may be added at any time. So make sure you check back here.

Nightwalking Vampires the Children of the Night: Very few pure blood Nightwalking Vampires still walk the earth as most of them were wiped out over the centuries. However, those who survived and bore children were capable of continuing the bloodline. They are vicious beings of incredible strength and some have the ability to wield elemental magic. Pure blooded vampires are born into their existence and thus grow until they reach the age of eighteen. There is a limit of eight for the time being, until membership goes up. Then there are turned Nightwalkers. Humans turned into a Vampire. This process requires a human to be drained of their blood almost entirely, to the point where they are on the brink of death; at this point the human must drink of a vampire's blood in order to replace their own. Their body then goes through an excruciatingly painful process where the body dies and is then reborn. These vampires will forever be immortalized at the age they were turned, never to age another physical day in their life. They are considered to be weaker than pure blooded vampires.
Daywalking Vampires the Children of the Light: A rapidly growing breed of Vampires, physically stronger than their dark haired counterparts they lack the ability to harness elemental magic, but they do have the ability to step foot into the light of the sun unharmed. They all have white hair and crimson eyes. There are no pure blood Daywalkers, they are all humans given the gift of immortality. The process from changing from a human to a Daywalker is the same as a human changing into a Nightwalker.
Lycanthropes the Children of the Moon: Half human and half beast, these creatures are capable of changing from a feral animal form into a human at will. When they are weaker they cannot control the change and frequently are discovered, but those who are not discovered and eradicated quickly learn to control their powers. Lycanthropes, or Lycans for short, have taken on a very criminal life style for the most part, organizing gangs and controlling the slums. They are very powerful and intelligent creatures, however they lack the ability conjure magic and unique abilities like Vampires and Witches.
Witches the Children of the Sky: Witches were long ago thought to be eradicated entirely since the Salem witch trials, were once thought to be humans partaking in the dark arts. However, this assumption was invalid. Witches are incredibly powerful humans who can conjure spells and manipulate energies. They can concoct potions and cast spells and so much more.
Humans the Children of the Earth: This is fairly self-explanatory. The basic limitations are that humans are not nearly as strong physically as any of the other races, however their ability to engineer new weapons and for rapid expansion gives them a small advantage. The human population in Naught are few.

Stella Marie Cromwell Stella Marie Cromwell was alone in the tiny cafe where she worked waiting for the kettle of water to boil for tea. The black clad bewitching beauty was sitting in the back of the shop, her long dancer's legs crossed while her dainty chin was cupped in her right palm, her exotic gold green eyes were slightly glazed the tiny Vampire was completely lost in thought, but snapped to attention when the pot emitted a high pitched whistle signaling to her that the water was hot. Rising from her seat she gracefully sauntered over to the stove, and transfered the water to a porceline pot and added a precise measurment of tea leaves.
Once done with this task she meandered back to her previous seat, and allowed for the fragrant leaves to steep. Once sufficent time had passed she poured herself a steaming cup of earl grey, and daintly lifted the cup to her lips, blowing softly to cool the hot liquid before taking a cautious sip. As soon as the aromatic beverage hit her tongue, her eyes gently shut and an expression of content of her heart shaped face.
" Mm..." Stella murmured out loud a slight accent giving away her British beginings, satisfied that her tea brewing skills were top notch. Taking another sip, she placed her tea cup back on its saucer and looked out the large glass window at the front of the shop to the passerbys out on the street. Even in the dim lighting of the cafe she could still see her reflection in the crystal clear glass, the dark haired Vampire surveyed herself in the mirror tilting her head this way and that to as if to view herself in a different angle. With her blue black wavy hair, perfect porcelain skin, almond shaped green gold eyes with thick black lashes and Dresden doll features, Stella was quite the beauty if not intimidating with her cold demeanor and all the black she wore. Then again she worked in a fortune telling store, she supposed it worked out well. She had felt rather non stalgic waking up this evening and had donned on clothes similar to those she wore back home in England growing up, though with a more modern touch that revealed a little more cleavage than the neck high blouses back in the 1900's.
Taking another drink of her tea, she reached out behind her and pulled down a thick tome bound in old faded leather. Flipping it open, she gently turned the pages of the ancient book and began to read, as she waited for any customers she might have

Ezio Ravenna - Male Witch Extraordinaire The male witch awoke from his sleep in his small apartment. He sat up and rubbed his eyes as he sent an electric current through a wire on his bed and turned the lights on. He stood up and cracked his back, yawning loudly. He lazily got dressed and walked out of his apartment building. He took a job at a cafe only open at night. "Perché ho fatto prendere questo lavoro?" He muttered as he walked down the street, yawning loudly. He eventually got to the Psychic cafe that he worked at and walked inside. The only person there was Stella. "Good morn.... evening." He said as took a few steps inside. ((translation: why did i take this job?))

Stella Marie Cromwell Hearing the bell attached to the top of the door chime, Stella glanced through her thick black lashes to see the figure of Ezio Ravenna one of the few male Witches she knew of enter into the store. Her exotic green eyes flicked back to the stained pages of the book in her lap, and an elegant hand reached out to pluck up her cup of cooled tea, lifting it to her lips she took a sip before setting it back down with a gentle tink on the saucer.
" Good evening, Ezio." The Vampire mumured, not taking her eyes off the book.
" It's not very busy tonight, would you care for a cup of tea? I made it about ten minutes ago." She continued, gesturing a graceful hand to the seat in front of her. " It's earl grey, by the way. I hope you don't mind."
The whole time she spoke her eyes were not on her fellow co worker but on the heavy book on her lap, totally absorbed in its contents. Absently she wondered where Helena was, but knew the young Witch often did not show up for her shifts. Uttering a quiet sight Stella brushed the thought away and continued with her reading.

The radiant sun had drowned itself in darkness once again, sunk beyond the horizon. The start of a new night when by all normal means slumber would be the appropriate course of action but the city of Naught tended to have an inverted nature. Night was like day and day was night. Although able to seek the sun Helena would often opt to sleep through the daylight hours, nothing much tended to happen while the sun casts rays over the city.
Lights where coming on all over Naught, time to rise and greet the night. She wiped her eyes after breaking her long stare at the rooms ceiling and sat up on her bed. It did not take long for Helena to be showered and dressed. At her door she pulled on a pair of brown leather boots which she proceeded to lace up tightly. Putting a dark pink, nee length coat over her dress she completed her clothes assembly. Lastly Helena took a polished looking broom from beside the door and left.
Down a few flights of stairs and through the entrance meant Helena was out of her apartment building. Though to be honest she did not feel like going to work, she was hungry and she knew the perfect place. A Ramen Stall was between the apartment and work; in fact it was on the same street. She would stop there to eat. Helena arrived at the stall just as it was beginning to serve customers. She smiled sincerely as her clear voice spoke with an Australian ascent, “Perfect Timing. A bowl of Sho-Shōyu Ramen please.”

Ezio Ravenna - Male Witch Extraordinaire "Sure. Thanks." He said as he took the seat that she had gestured too. He was almost glad this place was open at night, that way the hordes of witches were mostly asleep. He poured himself a cup of the earl grey tea she had made. Maybe it would wake him up a bit, although he was never the biggest tea drinker. Ezio wondered what kind of fortunes he would give people today. Most of the ones he gave involved death, a common occurrence in Naught. He wished that one of these creatures could have a good week for once. He sighed as he drank the tea.

Marik Battosai The Daywalker Who Wanted The Night "Grab your gun. Time to go to hell. I'm no hero. Guilty as charged."
Swiping the blood from his face as he walked out from the alleyway, Marik looking around the twilight area that was the city of Naught. It was like his playroom or something, but perhaps a little more serious than that. He glanced back down the alleyway, the bloodless corpse that now lie there. Oh well, someone would clean it up. They always did.
He had to eat after all. More than usual it seemed. It was almost like he was getting hungrier. Which was strange but, he was getting older. Seventy three now.
He walked the streets that were so familiar, and wondered how he was going to get his next paycheck. Sure he had money for the time-being but, he really did need a job. Something more stable. Wasn't that what he wanted to be a Nightwalker for? An exciting life? He sigh softly. Almost nothing exciting about this.
Walking through the streets, he spotted the Ramen stall he always passed. Something smelled particularly enticing about it tonight however, despite the fact he'd already eaten. He made a face, something between agitation and disgust, then made his way over to the stall.
Taking a seat, he looked around. He managed to sit next to a brown-haired girl. He sniffed the air. Smelled like, ramen. He couldn't tell what she was. Human or not. He raised an eyebrow at her."Come here often?" he asked, looking for someone interesting.
"A million little pieces, Stolen from you. Search and destroy."

Stella Marie Cromwell " You're welcome." Stella said at last shutting the book and taking her exotic green eyes away from the inanimate object to look at the young man before her. He looked rather rumpled and sleepy, his dark hair tousled as if he had just gotten out of bed.
" How's the tea?" The dark haired Vampire asked, her almond eyes studying the man's features as he took took a sip and sighed. Draining the remainder of her cup she turn in her chair to replace the book back on the shelf behind her. Swiveling back around once she was done she stared into the bottom of her cup at the damp tea leaves for a long moment before she shrugged and reached for the porceline tea pot at the center of the table.
" Rough night? Or is something on your mind?" She inquired, pouring herself another cup of the aromatic beverage and taking a sip.

Ezio Ravenna - Male Witch Extraordinaire "Never the biggest tea drinker, but yeah it's good." Ezio said to her with a smile. "Both, I kind of woke up maybe twenty minutes ago. I'm also wondering why everyone's future in this city is so bleak? I haven't foreseen anyone to have a happy week in a very long time." He told her. When he first walked in he had noticed that they were the only people there. "So, Helena not coming again?" He asked. His fellow witch rarely seemed to show up on time, if at all.
