MARINE CORPS DRILL AND CEREMONIES MANUAL
Marine Corps Manual COs and all personnel shall familiarize themselves with
this Manual
Purpose. The Marine Corps Drill and Ceremonies Manual is
designed to provide uniformity and standardization for all Marine
Corps organizations. This Manual prescribes procedures for all close
order drill and military ceremonial evolutions.
As a marine you are expected to follow the core values, as well as the 14 leadership traits and 11 leadership principles as follows:
Traits:
Judgement, Justice, Dependability, Integrity, Decisiveness, Tact, Initiative, Endurance, Bearing, Unselfishness, Courage, Knowlege, Loyalty, and Enthusiasm.
Principles:
1: Know your marines and look out for their welfare.
2: Be technically and tactically proficient.
3: Keep your marines informed.
4: Make sound and timely decisions.
5: Employ your command in accordance with its capabilities.
6: Train your marines as a team.
7: Make sure that the task is understood, supervised, and completed.
8: Know yourself and seek self improvement.
9: Develop a sense of responsibility among your subordinates.
10: Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions.
11: Set the example.
Also you are expected to understand and act accordingly to the chain of command.

Respect all superiors and display a professional attitude at all times.
Inspections, drill, and call to arms may be ordered at any time, reporting is mandatory. Inspections may consist of a basic knowleges evaluation or test of leadership traits and principles. Drill may consist of drill training or ceremonies. A call to arms will require all marines to report to the commanding officer for further instruction (combat situation).
