Kitty walked downstairs into the tavern. Her mind was blank as she switched the sign to open.
"Mommy?" came a small voice behind her that made her jump slightly.
"Oh sweety you scared me" Kitty replied softly as she bent down to the girls level. "Whats wrong?" she asked the child.
"I should be asking you!" the little girl said as she hugged her mother softly. "You look sad! And its the holidays! ...You always look sad around the holidays" Luna noted softly.
"Oh baby im sorry" Kitty said with a soft smile as she picked the small girl up. "I guess the cold weather just gets me down" she teased as she began to tickle the girl. "But you know! We dont have time to be sad do we Luna?"
Luna shook her head with a smile. "Nope! We gots work!" she laughed as she said it. "Do I get to clean the tables again!?!"
"If youd like hunny" Kitty said with a smile as she put Luna back down. Luna ran off to grab a cloth to start cleaning. Once she was out of sight Kitty let out a small sigh and looked out the window. Snow gently began to fall from the sky and truthfully it did make her sad. After a moment of watching the snow Kitty shook her head and turned. Luna had already begun to clean the tables and so should Kitty. She walked behind the counter and started setting up the bottles for easy reach.

Once all the tables were cleaned and ready for customers Kitty smiled at Luna. "You know the drill missy" she teased with a smile.
"Do I haveta go to bed now?" she asked with pleading eyes. "Cant I help you here?"
"Nope" Kitty said with a small shake of her head. "This place is not a good place for you at night Luna" she told the little girl with a gentle smile. "So get your butt in bed and Ill be right up there to tuck you in" Kitty told her with a small laugh.
With a small pout Luna walked over to Kitty and hugged her leg. "Yes mommy..." she said through her pout.

Hotaru hurried down the snowy streets with her jacket clenched tightly to her. The wind wipped up and made her cheeks a rosy red. As the small tavern came into view Hotaru stopped. A blank stare washed over her face as she looked at the building. With a small sigh she closed her eyes tightly. She opened them slowly and then continued to the tavern. With a small smile she pushed open the door and walked into the warmth of the tavern.
"Welcome!" Kitty said from behind the counter. "We dont have to may visiters here on Christmas eve... but you come every year dont you?" she asked with a smile.

Hotaru shrugged a bit as she brushed the snow off of her. "It beats staying home" she said softly as she sat down at the counter. Leaning on the counter a bit Hotaru seemed to drift off into her mind.
Kitty watched as the girl sat at the ber. She worried the girl may be sick, she just didnt seem right. "You ok?" she asked in a worried tone as she studied the girl. "You seem a bit out of it" she added gently.
Hotaru almost jumped out of her skin as Kitty spoke to her. "Oh yes Im fine... Just waiting for a friend" she told Kitty with a soft smile. "OH! I was supposed to order a green tea for her" she remembered as her eyes grew wide.
"No problem" Kitty said with a small giggle. "And anything for yourself?" she asked as she turned to grab a tea cup.
"Ill have earl grey" Hotaru said softly.

As She ordered the tea, Ai walked in, "Didn't I tell you I wanted Green tea tonight," She joked. "I will have a green tea too miss." She smiled, sitting down at the table. "You missed mega Drama again," She sighed putting her elbow on the table looking up to nowhere

"I did order you green tea" Hotaru replied with a soft smile. She paused for a moment as Ai spoke. "Oh really?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Here you go girls" Kitty said with a smile as she placed a green tea infront of Ai and earl grey tea infron of Hotaru. "Let me know if I can get you two anything else you hear?" she smiled at the two of them before she happily went back to cleaning.

Her heart sank, "No matter how hard i try Hotaru, I can not seem to fight off the ghost that is haunting him." She sighed taking in a sip of her tea, "I am useless to him and He does not trust me......"

"Whatever," she joked around "Hotaru, what is done is done, and I cannot fix that. I am not a Doctor and I am not a healer, I cannot be trusted with another person," she repeated the words almost to a T as Kai yelled them to her...

"With another persons life" Hotaru added as she slowly sipped her tea. "It is a correct statement Ai... that doesnt mean he doesnt trust you" she looked down at the hot water as she spoke. "You cant take that to personally"

"Funny you should say that, Because the entire time he was yelling... For... You..." She said word for word like a robot. "But stating that I cannot be trusted with another person, means that I cannot be trusted, there for he cannot trust me. He has given me my freedom, yet I am still a slave." She sighed gulping the last of her tea down.

"I am a healer Ai..." Hotaru reminded her gently. "And as I said Im guessing he said you cant be trusted with another persons life, most people wouldnt be! I wouldnt put that pressure on someone and neither would Kai"

She slammed her hands on the table, "You don't get it either." She sighed placing her hand to her face, "I have studied so hard to be useful, I may not know if I have the powers of a healer, But I know that I can be of use to both of you. I just want to help," She sighed sitting back down. "I can help with the people that come in that house." She said to the girl. Ai was hurt that both, the love of her life, and Her best friend couldn't trust her with the people that lived in her home. It was unfair. She wasn't a Nurse, but she had all the knowledge of one, she could point out where anything that was wrong on any soul body. She wasn't a doctor, but if handed a knife and was told to cut out someone's kidney she could do that, She wasn't a lawyer but in a court room she could play a damned good one. Ai thought on all this as she waited for Hotaru's reply. She looked around, she saw that Kitty, was at the bar. Ai never told Hotaru about her, she only found out by accident. She thought that it really wasn't her place to point out that information. Kai never spoke of her, but he did have a picture hidden in his room....
