Final Fantasy Family RP!
Cloud sat around, laying with Elly, watching the clouds drift by. He looked over at her. She has her head between her paws, looking up. A faint smile rested on her lips, and Zeke was sprawled out on her back, asleep, his legs and wings everywhere. Chip and Clarisse were wrestling, and Cloud was as happy as ever. He loved his family more than anything else. He Lifted his head up, and a faint wind brought him a familiar scent.

(XD Homgosh, Cloud is watching clouds!!!! -shot with fireball from Squall)
Padding along the soft edges of their usual river, Zack looked back at Ashy with an affectionate smile, his eyes shining. Even if the pup hadn't grown, he didn't want her to. At times, he just wished that they could stay like that forever - father and daughter.
Ashy was splashing and plodding around behind her Fa, a wide grin spread across her face. When her Fa looked at her, her tail swished behind her rapidly and she barked, meeting his eyes and smiling quickly, before going back to her play.
Not far off, Squall watched the little pup that had become like a sister to him. He'd do almost anything for the pup, though, he didn't like to admit it. Turning his head as he heard a commotion, he barked up at Zack, making sure the 'pack-leader' knew that he was going to go check it out. He padded into the clearing where Cloud, his mate, and his three pups lay with caution, but smirked once he saw them, turning back and barking again at Zack, "Hey, look who I found."

Elly lifted her head and met Squall's gaze. "Squall!" She barked, and her tail thumped on the soft grass. If he's here, Zack and Ashy are too! She grinned. Taking her eyes away for a second, she howled, a high note, calling Maggie back from whatever it was she was doing. She'd want to see all her friends.
Cloud, feeling lazy and comfortable, didn't want to get up, but figured it was better to do so. He pushed himself off the ground, and trotted over to Squall, and nodded briskly.
Zeke yawned, his puppy teeth still sharp , yet cute. He looked around with sleepy eyes, and rubbed his face with his paws. "Mother? Is something happening?" He asked tiredly.
"Yes, Zekey. Squall is here!" She nuzzled him, and watched Cloud meet Squall.
"Does that mean Uncle Zack is here?"
"Uncle Zack? And Squall? Ashy!" Chip stopped wrestling with Clarisse and looked up, excited, his eyes flashing, ignoring the fact that Clarisse had taken the chance to bite his ear.
((My family has a pretty color scheme! -swatted by Vincent- But you throw it off. -glares-))

Ashy was the first to trot over to Squall's side, and immediately her maw broke out with a wide grin. "Chippy! Cloudy! Elly!" With a short giggle, "Squally!" as she pushed her head against his leg, before sprinting over to Chip. Once she saw Chip's ear in his sister's mouth, she tackled Clarisse full-force, "Leggo Chippy!!" She snarled.
Squall also nodded a greeting to Cloud, and Elly. "Been a while." Was his only remark as he watched the puppy slam into her cousin.
Zack came in hot on Ashy's trail, and a smile broke out on his face, too. "Hey, friend. How have you been? Nice to see you, too, Elly." Then, he took his attention to Zeke, "Hey there, Zeke. Whatcha been up to?" His little twin took his attention, and he grinned at him, "Yup!"

Clarisse let out a yelp of surprise as she was tackled by Ashy. She released Chip's ear and fell under Ashy. Her fist instinct was to place her paws on the attacker's throat, cutting off her air. Even after she realized it was Ashy, she let up. "He's my brother! I can do what I want!" She rolled over, attempting to throw Ashy away from her. "Idiot!"
Cloud let a low growl escape form his throat. "Clarisse!" He barked. "Let her go and leave each other alone!" He returned his attention to Squall and Zack. "It has." He nodded to Squall. "I've been good, you as well?"
Elly nodded. "Nice to see you too. Zeke and Chip will be happy to see you." She wagged her tail, curling it upwards.
Zeke whimpered. His uncle so was so big...and intimidating... Even though he wasn't afraid, he still trembled and stuttered. "I-I've been g-good. Clarisse doesn't pick on m-me so much anymore." He pressed himself to his father's shoulder. He wouldn't let anyone hurt him. He relaxed and felt better.
Chip grinned, showing all his teeth. His ear was ore from having his sister torn off it, but he ignored it and ran over to Uncle. "Yay! It's been so long, Uncle! How've you been? Gone on any adventures? How's Ashy doing? Uh... Ashy! Clarisse!" He remembered what had happened and knew Clarisse would start something. He ran over to referee.

"And he's my cousin!" Ashy insisted, gasping for air. "And how is hurting him honorable?" She practically demanded, sounding an awful lot like Zack with the comment. "I actually protect my friends," Her voice was cold, as Squall came over and scooped the puppy up in his mouth. As soon as she had heard the insult, however, she squirmed with a snarl, disregarding her labored breathing (due to her air being cutoff, and her lungs being so weak already).
At first, Zack didn't think much of his puppy tackling Cloud's. "Yeah, we've been pretty good. Adventures? Well, I don't know about that - Ashy sure did show that fish who was boss a while ago, though," he laughed. Zack noticed his nephew hiding and stammering, and lied down so that his face was level with Zeke's, "Well, that's good Zeke; I'm glad to hear it," He smiled brightly, before hearing the word 'honor' slip from Ashy's mouth. He smiled ear to ear for a second, before he scowled at the fight. He was about to head over himself, when Squall plucked her up and started heading back. "Ashy, behave." He scolded, "Chip can take care of himself." He smiled despite himself.

"First off, Ashy, he's not your biological cousin. Second, it's only play, it's not like I was after his life, you know." She scowled and flicked her tail. "And third, it's not like I would let my friends die either."
Chip barked loudly and sharply at them both. "Stop it! If you two keep fighting, nothing good will happen! So cut it out!" He curled up his lip and showed his teeth, mainly at Clarisse. "Clarisse, stop being a brat. Ashy, it was only a little fun." He huffed and went back to Zack. "Really?" He continues the conversation with his uncle as if nothing had happened. "We'll have to go fishing sometime! Right Zeke?" He grinned at his brother.
"Y-yeah... But I probably won't be any good at it..." He looked down sadly. He was a pathetic thing, he had convinced himself of that.
Elly frowned. "You've never tried it, how do you know? It might be something your really good at!" She picked up his chin with her paw and made him look at her.
"I'm not good at anything!" He whimpered. He looked over at Zack. I must be a pathetic nephew... He looked into Zack's strong and confident face and was ashamed.
"That he can. He'll be a great leader someday." Cloud nodded at Zack's comment about Chip.

"He might as well be!" She continued to insist, disregarding her other points as her breath still huffed. It was a misunderstanding, but Ashy was by no means ready to give up the fight that had been started. Her tail was swishing angrily, as Squall set her down next to her Fa, who scolded her. Her ears flicked back when Chip spoke out against her, too, though, but it wasn't harsh, so she brushed it off. She was getting sick and tired of being told that none of her 'family' was connected by blood. Her Mother was dead, and her father was hunting her. She hated being reminded of that. So, in another huff, she padded over to her Squally, mimicking his emotionless expression as she just stayed in the confines of her own mind.
"Yup" Zack laughed again, "Sure gave her a run for her money, though," He bumped into his pup playfully, before she went off. Something was wrong. "I'm sure you'll be great at it, Zeke!" Zack encouraged with a big smile. At his outburst, his ears went back and he crawled forward, touching his nose to Zeke's, "Don't say that, buddy. You're good at being a great, adorable nephew!" He grinned, wanting nothing more than to see Zeke have a little confidence in himself. Then, his attention flicked to Cloud, "He's got the looks for it," He winked proudly, and over-confidently.
"Hey, kid." Squall chuffed out when she stood by him. Noticing the lack of emotion in her face, he glanced at Zack, who'd noticed it too, and then his eyes flicked harshly up at Clarisse. Ignoring the brat, he put his paw on Ashy's head, messing up her fur, "Don't listen to that ill-mannered punk." He whispered to her, not caring if anyone heard. "I'm sure you could kick her a** any day!" And that earned him a little smile from Ashy.

"But he's not." Clarisse reminded her smugly. "Sucks, doesn't it, not to have a real-" She yelped as Elly swatted her rump with her paw.
"Shut up, Clarisse! Ashy didn't do anything to you, and you should just drop it! I didn't raise you to be a brat to everyone about everything. One more bad word out of you, Missy, and you'll regret it!" Elly loved her kids, but she wasn't afraid to be harsh with them.
Maggie burst of nowhere, hearing Elly's call and returning. Her rear end waggled furiously as she she looked at all her friends. She could barely contain her excitement! When, she noticed Ashy was sad. Ashy looked like everything was fine, she was just distracted, but Maggie could tell someone's real feeling. Maggie took her excitement down about a thousand notches and seriously walked over to Ashy and sat next to her. She waggled her tail hopefully and looked at her with puppy eyes that nobody could resist. "Ashy sad..." She tipped her head.
Zeke's eyes brightened a bit. "You...think so? Really?" He asked Zack. His uncle was nice. Getting praise from parents is one thing, but his cool uncle was another. He looked up to Zack a lot, (Though he'd never tell, for fear of being rejected) and his praise meant a lot to him.
Cloud laughed once. "He sure does."
Chip grinned smugly, and puffed out his chest. "Who knows, uncle! Maybe I'll be bossing you around someday!" He headbutted him in the chest playfully.
Clarisse's lip twitched in annoyance at Squall's comment, but she held her thoughts in. As much as she hated it, her mother was a harsh enforcer...

Right when that phrase hit Ashy's ears, she lurched forward, only to be scruff-ed and hanging in the jaws of Squall, who was glaring down harshly at the mouthy little runt. "You take that back or I will MAKE You take that back!" She snarled furiously, clawing at the air in front of her and snapping at it, despite how she felt Squall was getting annoyed. "You have no idea what it's like to see your mother DIE right before your ******** eyes!!!! And having your abusive father hunting you - being the one that did that to your mother! So listen up, b***h, if you say one more ******** thing, you're going to have scars worse than mine, among missing lim-" She fell completely limp in Squall's jaws, save for her soft breath.
Not skipping a beat when he saw Ashy tense, he caught her scruff in the air and pulled her away from the brat, even if she DID deserve it. Then, she'd done something Squall had never heard her do before; she cursed, and spilled her memories out to the world. Ashy never cursed in front of Zack. Squall let her continue for a bit, before tightening his grasp around a pressure point that cut the pup's threat short. With an agitated sigh, he set her down near a tree, standing close guard. Though, as he walked off, he warned Clarisse with a glare, and said to an unconscious Ashy, "Get in line, kid - not before I do." His tone was angry, but a vague attempt at playful.
After a few minutes, Ashy blinked her eyes open, a small soreness about the back of her neck. She opened her eyes to Maggie! What a good surprise. Then, her friend had asked if she was sad, and Ashy snarled, "Ashy doesn't get sad!" She snapped, and sat firmly next to Squall, who was glancing down at her, giving her the 'sit' look. She chuffed, agitated, and said, "Forget about it." curtly, glad that Squally was blocking her view..
"I do." Zack smiled at Zeke. With a laugh, "Maybe, Chip. But you've got a long way to go if you wanna beat this cool cat!...Err...wolf." He had been about to lightly shove Chip in return, but once he heard Clarisse's comment, Zack rose to his feet and forgot all of his conversations, looking over sharply and ready to step into action. Thankfully, he didn't have to, as Elly quieted her daughter, but he stared at Ashy when she had her outburst, an almost hurt expression on his face as he remembered her mother's death, too. He had been about to yell at her, when Squall had knocked her out. That was a little harsh of him, but he supposed it had to be done, since Ashy couldn't have calmed down on her own. He sighed, "Ashy...." those two were definitely going to be a problem if Clarisse couldn't hold her tongue, and Ashy her temper. He'd scold her about it later, "Sorry, about her..." Zack said to his friend and his mate, looking off to the side, embarrassed.

Elly growled and swatted Clarisse again for causing the whole problem. "Me and you are going have a serious talk later, you hear me? Your my daughter, but I will not tolerate this! Family isn't made by blood, Clarisse. It's stitched togather with love and care for each other."
"So, I'm not part of this stupid family, am I?" Clarisse growled. She thought over Ashy's comments, and decided she didn't care. Her pycho-freak family wasn't her problem.
Elly's eyes hurt, and she held back tears. "Your never part of a family you don't want to be part of." She hissed. She knew that better than anyone...
Cloud sighed. "Is it just me, or does this always happen?"
Maggie whimpered, understanding she didn't want to talk about it, and inched closer to Ashy. She didn't like curses and anger. "Does Ashy want to play...Away?" Maggie made a faint, half-hearted smile. She might be a little dim, but she knew what was going on. "Frogs in the river!" She reached out to lick Ashy's leg. Licking was her way to express her care, even if most wolves didn't like being licked...She'd do it anyway!
Chip's smile and playful expression faded. "Damn it, Clarisse..." He hissed. "Sorry, Uncle..." He made his way to Clarisse. "Really? REALLY?" He growled, loud enough only for her to hear. "You HAVE to mess things up, and make everyone mad! It's not good enough for everyone to just have a good time and catch up! If your going to be like this, when they come, just leave, Clarisse!
Clarisse huffed and snarled. "Maybe I will!"She snapped back. She turned, and left, not before kicking sand in Chip's face. He grabbed her tail in his teeth, making her yelp, and she ran into the trees, tail between her legs.
"How do you do that? She listens to you more than me!" Elly sighed. "Go on, enjoy your cousins..." Elly moved back next to Cloud. "Really, Zack, and Ashy, especially, I'm sorry. I don't know what's with that girl..."
Zeke whimpered. "I HATE this!" He stamped his paw in anger. "So much hate... so much anger... so much pain..." His eyes filled with tears. "Why is the world such a bad place? Why can't things always juts be fine? Everyone just be happy?"
"I don't know..." Cloud looked down and put a paw over his son's shoulder. "The world just...didn't work out that way..."

Ears starting to pull back, Ashy kept her emotions in check as she looked almost emotionlessly at Maggie. "Sure. Let's play. Away." She stood without another word and waited for Maggie to lead her to the frogs. She needed to take her aggressions out on something...Though, she would have loved to do that very same thing to the mouthy little brat. Ashy practically ignored Elly's apology - it was un-needed. But her Fa....She caught him looking sad from the corner of her eye. She sped up her pace, trying to ignore it....She didn't like it when she upset her Fa...
Zack watched as Clarisse fought with her mother, and his ears went back - he could tell that she was hurt. Zack just closed his eyes and shook his head when Cloud asked if it always happened; it wasn't just Cloud. he only shook is head again at Chip's apology. "It's really not necessary, Elly.....It takes two to start a fight..." He had trouble meeting her eyes, when Zeke cried out. He bent down close to his nephew and nuzzled him gently, "Because, Zeke....There's evil in the world." And the epitome of Evil, Ashy's father, ran through his head.....

Maggie smiled faintly. She didn;t like it when her friends were upset... But she tilted her head in the direction of the river and began to lead Ashy down to it. Maggie didn't understand. She didn't understand why wolves fought, got angry, and sad... Maggie hadn't much experience with these emotions. Yet somewhere in the back of her mind, she knew that she'd felt great pain and hate before, she just didn't know when.She only remembered the love of Cloud, and Elly, and her family and friends. She was indeed an ignorant little dog... She suddenly remebered Squall. "Squall come with?" She asked Ashy.
"If everyone cared, and nobody cried, if everyone loved, and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride, then we'd see the day when nobody died..." She recalled lyrics from a song she had heard. She wanted so badly to believe in her little Zeke, but with her experience, she knew such a thing could never be accomplished.
Zeke blinked and looked up at his mother. She had sang him that song many times, but he had never really taken the lyrics to heart before... He hung his head. "That's my goal then." He declared. "I'll make sure the world sees the day when everyone loves, and nobody dies. I don't care if it's impossible. Even just trying will help the world..." He looked up at Zack, a little more confident. "I think I'll have to talk to Clarisse when she calms down." He pushed the fear of being bullied out of his mind.
"I'm glad to hear that, son." Cloud smiled looked at Zack. Zeke had a goal, he had ambitions... That was the first step toward making him believe in himself.
Chip looked at his brother in surprise. He had never said so many words at a time before, he was usually so quiet and shy. His words, they were confident and full of desire now. "Yeah, Zeke, you can totally do it! You'll have my help!" His eyes sparkled and he looked at Zack and his father.
Vincent sat int he shadows and watched the family fight, talk, and Zeke stand out for once. I'm happy for him, but goals that can't be achieved only lead to despair... Everyone wants him to succeed, even me. But still... He looked up, and let out a "hmmph." He decided not to join in and ruin the conversation. He would just sit in the shadow of his tree until he was noticed and invited.

"No, Squall no come..." She didn't want her big brother to see her that angry. She thought, for sure, that he would tell her Fa, and she would get in trouble. She played, in the very back of her mind, her tearing out Clarisse's throat. Over and over again, and she heard her screams, too, in her mind. Such lovely screams or raw terror, agony - crying pleas for her to stop! She loved them - and it only made her more savage, biting at Clarisse's paws, practically tasting the blood in her mouth, and once her body had stopped moving, shaking her in her jaws with a wide grin on her face. It was obvious Ashy was lost in her thoughts, because she had already had a frog in her mouth, and was shaking it wildly - laughing through the dead mass between her jaws. Maggie had led Ashy there without her being in that reality - and if spoken to, Ashy didn't respond but with a frantic, exasperated laugh!
Squall was becoming quite bored just sitting there observing everything. I mean, that may be what he always did, but he never had much fun of it. Seeing social interaction was boring - since he never did much of it himself. He would much rather be doing something productive - sparring, training, hunting, anything. That's when he noticed Ashy's eyes go dull - as if she wasn't there anymore. He'd only seen that once before, when she'd stepped on a porcupine, became infuriated, and tossed something at it without a second thought. Being her restraint, Squall decided he would skulk off after her, without her knowing. Whatever she was up to, it couldn't be "nice". He had to make sure she stayed out of trouble. He only overheard a little bit of Zeke's words, and merely shook his head silently, scoffing in his head. Such wistful dreams. So unachievable goals. The poor thing would be crushed, when he'd learned the hard way. He took no part in the encouragement. He saw Zack's eyes flick up to him as he was leaving in pursuit of the crimson puppy, and nodded - telling him not to worry and that he'd take care of Ashy.
Zack gave Zeke a big smile, "I would love to see a world like that. It's an honour knowing the wolf that's going to make that a reality." Zack winked, "And I'll help, too." Puffing he chest out proudly, he promised, "If you ever need any help with anything, just call uncle Zack to help you get the job done!" Relaxing his pride, he stroked Zeke's ego a bit more, "Though I'm sure a brave, strong-willed wolf like you won't need help from a dork like me," he had laughed, and expected Ashy to cheer up at hearing it, but noticed that she was gone. Oh no.. knowing how angry Ashy got, he thought for sure she had gone after his niece. Meeting eyes with Squall as he padded after her, he put his trust in him. Squall was strong, and Ashy adored him. If anyone could stop her from hurting things, even with force if it called for it, it was Squall; Zack certainly didn't have the heart for hurting his pup. He looked at his best friend then, and also gave him a smile - proud of his nephew as well. Looking down at Chip, he grinned handsomely.
Tired of staring at the River, Rayne wandered around, following the scent-trails of Vincent. She saw his bright red cape as he looked quite intently into a clearing. Noiselessly, she padded up behind him, and waited for the right moment to pounce....She wasn't aware of anyone else around her, and with one big, fast leap, she was on Vincent's back, barking with joy, "Vincent!" She yipped, covering his face in licks.

"O'tay" Maggie responded. She looked back at Ashy. Her eyes were glazed, and she looked distant. When they got to the river, she began a frog massacre! "Ashy...? Ashy okay?" Maggie whimpered. She walked back, knowing not to get too close. Her old friend... He was like that. Any small creature that got in his path was dead. Ashy did the same. Catch it in her jaws, crush it, shake it. She laughed in a horrible way that made Maggie's spine tingle and fur stand up. "ASHY!" She whimpered. She moved her paw int he water. Splash her to snap her out of it, or splash her and end up like frog? Maggie was never a big risk taker... She whimpered again, a long note that ended in a breathy sigh. Zack, Chip, Squall, she needed someone to help her. Maggie was scared. Scared of what her friend was doing, who, lost in her rage, had become.
"Your no dork!" Zeke laughed. But I'm no brave, strong-willed wolf like you say I am... He growled and shook the thought from his head.
"Hmph. thought won't get you anywhere, actions are what you have to do." Clarisse whispered to herself. She watched Ashy violently tear at the frogs, and knew she was thinking of her. She ran a paw down her sword, but did nothing. Killing Ashy would be a fight she didn't need at the moment, and she knew Squall could care less if she was his friend's daughter, the psychopath came first. She didn't really care of anyone's opinions of her, only she mattered, what she knew, what she thought. She huffed. Why did everyone care so much about an obviously disturbed pup? She sat upwind of them and in the shadows, and just watched. Pathetic little Maggie couldn't do anything to help, could she? No. She never could. Maggie was a little parasite who always relied on other. Since she was too dull to do anything on her own.
I wonder where Rayne is... Vincent's mind wondered. I haven't seen her in a while... Maybe she- He snapped out of his haze and was taken completely by surprise as Rayne jumped him. She licked his face, and he tripped, falling into the clearing with Cloud and his family, Rayne still all over him. "I can explain...?" He frowned, but turned to Rayne and pawed her playfully, giving her a quick lick on the cheek.
"Vincent? Thanks for...dropping in." He raised a brow. "How long you been there?"
