Personality: Laid-back and relaxed. Not confrontational at all. However, will fight and follow orders given by his superior. Intuitive in combat, and generally likable by his peers. (though some may take his nonchalance for laziness)
Appearance: Looks to be a jovial and relaxed middle-aged man with long and relatively straight black hair. Possibly a bit undernourished, Matsuyama has a gaunt and pale-ish face. (picture coming soon)
Likes: Enjoys sake! And sitting outside watching the sunset or moon. Likes to play around with his friends jokingly. Definitely enjoys a good nap, and sleeping in. Also enjoys the occasional flirt! *wink*
Dislikes: Dislikes having to work for extended periods of time. Also dislikes overseriousness. Doesn't enjoy fighting, but understands when it is necessary. Doesn't enjoy dealing with arrogant people, but usually finds humor in everyone. Brings out the best in those around him, but can still see the truth through another person's lies.
Abilities: Matsuyama has complete control over shadows, and the dimensions connected to shadows, even while in his unreleased form. His true essence only exists within this auxiliary dimension. As such, all physical attacks, and many reiatsu based attacks will be completely ineffective against him. If he desires, and if there is enough shadow in his surroundings, he can expand his visage/cloak to engulf one enemy (while unreleased, limitless numbers while released), and transport them nigh instantaneously to any dimension connected by shadow. Matsuyama's scythe has a similar ability. If so desired, he can swing the blade around in a large arc, and make a circular tear in the sky. This tear opens a void to the interstitial void that is the shadowed dimension. This ability has multiple uses (e.g. avoiding large attacks through misdirection, transporting people quickly, etc). As for more mundane abilities, Matsuyama is a master of speed and deception. He is a master of shunpo, and understands a few special techniques with it. He values his intelligence highly, as it, coupled with this ability to see the true character of people, can be invaluable in combat. Finally, his skill with kido is also rather impressive. He is capable of performing all Bakudo, and presumably all Hadou. He has been seen using Bakudo #99 without the incantation, while retaining almost all of it's full power.
Zanpakuto Name: Shadow of Death
Zanpakuto Spirit description: This spirit manifests as a gaunt and pale old (80's) man with his eyes removed from his sockets and, though balding, grey hair. wearing a white kimono and traditional japanese sandals.
Zanpakuto Description: A dark scythe with a shaft that looks wooden but is as hard and heavy as iron - and a blade with metal so black it appears to eat at all light in the surroundings.
Shikai: Activated with the command, Consume the Eternal. Saki becomes engulfed in robes made of shadows. If the sun is in the sky, a total eclipse occurs. If the moon is in the sky, a lunar eclipse occurs immediately after activation.
Shikai special ability: After having eradicated almost all light in the surroundings, Saki disappears into the shadow and attacks at incredible speed by moving through the shadow unseen. While in this shadow, there is no way of detecting Saki. By letting the released scythe drip blood onto the ground, it forms a pool of reddish shadow that begins to swirl. After a short while, this pool expands and becomes a vortex sucking all reiatsu not cloaked by shadow (aka all but Saki's) into its endless void - thus tremendously weakening all caught in shadow. Those who do find light are not safe for long, because these created vortexes also absorb any remaining light in the vicinity.
Bankai Description: The darkness in the sky that has enveloped both Matsuyama and his opponent(s) twists and morphs into the shape of an hourglass. all blood spilled at or before the time of activation is absorbed into one side of the hourglass shape (the enemies blood, if it would matter, is no longer under their jurisdiction - in that, if they have some way to control it, it does not apply once it has been absorbed into the hourglass). It starts to trickle down into the other half.
Bankai special abilities: Once the blood of Matsuyama's opponents has trickled from one half of the hourglass to the other, the life of those opponent's who's blood has been shed by Matsuyama's zanpakuto, is over.
