And James is gonna beat deaths a** in a fight and come back to life and be the knife master
Greatest drummer to ever live
Only 28...
Its terrible...
Im still crying
I will ever get over the fact that he's gone
Im so glad that so many other bands and people will miss him
Only 10 years he got to make us amazing music
ONLY 10 years
I was looking forward to the lifetime they had planned
But its to late now..
Rest In Peace James

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Jimmy...there's a lot to say in remembrance, yet there aren't enough words in the dictionary to type it out and make it mean the same thing that I'd MEAN to say. It seems like literally yesterday when I started listening to Avenged Sevenfold. Reason being, my best friend was in love with them...mostly because of Shads, and Syn. At first, I was wary of listening to them because my parents and rest of my family were pretty tight on letting me listen to anything 'loud' as they called it. But when I DID take a listen, I fell in love.

It wasn't at that very moment that I became infatuated with them, though. I listened, and I loved their music from the get go, but the middle of 2008 was when I wondered, who were these five amazing guys making this music? So I googled, and found their names and pictures. I thought "okay, so they're creepy looking and their drummer is crazy tall and scares the piss out of me." but looks are deceiving.

I started to appreciate their music even more, then. I remember when I bought their CD a year before that; the Self titled album. I also remember reading a Revolver Magazine in which there was an interview with the boys. I thought they were crazy, but a great crazy that I actually liked. I wrote 'Bat Country' on a pair of chucks because I thought it was 'cool' then.

In November 2008 I was told great news. Avenged Sevenfold would be playing at a venue near my house! I was so so stoked...I felt like throwing up. I rushed to get the tickets and the day I got them, I felt like I was going to pass out from the happiness. I knew it would be something special.

On February 24th, 2009, I saw Avenged Sevenfold in Pikeville Kentucky. I was 14, then, and so crazy about them I couldn't breathe. I remember jumping up in down, wearing a A7X hoodie, skinny jeans, chucks, and a pink zebra-print bandana. I can remember looking at them setting up The Rev's kit, and thinking 'that man is absolutely amazing, and I have to meet him'.

On December 29, I woke up and got online to check every profile of mine to see if I had any messages or what-be-it. At first, I saw a school mate's name that said (RIP Rev) on it. I overlooked it because I figured 'hey, it's probably a friend's nickname.' However, when I logged onto Gaia, my friends had their status' decked out with 'oh my god The Rev died' and 'Jimmy Sullivan's dead!' and whatnot. I was in so much shock, that I cried. It took me 20 solid minutes to get up the guts to google it. When I did, the tears came harder.

Jimmy was a great drummer, and obvious to everyone who met and knew him, he was a great person too. According to his friends and family, he was open about how he felt about you, and very loving if he liked you. A very loyal friend indeed. Jimmy was a drumming legend and was taken from this world much too soon by cruel life. He was amazingly hilarious, and strong-willed. The one thing I know I'll always remember is that when I saw A7X all access, I recall them talking about how he would have an upper-hand in school fights because he was so insanely tall. I also recall something about him wearing a Kimono, and sleeping in a laundro-mat.

If there was one thing I could have said to Jimmy, It would have been; "I think you're probably insane, and that's why I adore you so much." That was true. I do adore Jimmy, and I'm sure I always will. Because of him...I have the desire, now, to learn to play drums. I know I'll never be as good as James Owen 'The Rev' Sullivan...but in honor of him, and remembrance of him...I'll try my damnedest to be good.

I need some kinda miracle…

It's so heartbreaking. The world has lost an amazing drummer, and beautiful person. And he died so young. I still can't believe it. This has left a permanent dent in the world of Metal music. sad

...to shake me from this confusion.

damn why did the best drummer of all time have to go?
he could do everything sing, drum, write songs, hell he could even play the guitar.
all i hope is that he is resting in peice with all the other great musicans.

It's so sad. He was an amazing drummer-in my opinion, he was the best. I'm still very sad that this happened. I don't know why it had to happen. I miss him so much.

I am still crying of that fact Rev is gone, and it shouldnt have been his time. I ask myself why he is gone, why he went soo young.
every single day, I play A7X songs in my head and I get a mental image...
the mental image of Rev's drumset, with the drum sticks hitting the cymbals and the toms and the snare and high hat and the bass drums kicking. but when I hear the drumming and see the drums themselves playing, I see no Rev...
so I made a promise to Rev that when Im older, I will buy a double bass drumset and I will practice and practice until I master drumming and play for Rev
