Welcome to Slytherin Common room!

Boys' Dorm is down the hallway to the left, Girls' the same on your right. All of your belongings have already been brought in. There are large poofy chairs near the fire and many tables for you to sit at. Make yourself at home!
My office is down the hall if you have any questions at all.

Rena strolled silently into the common room, smiling to herself at some forgotton joke on what the common room reminded her of. She seemed to be alone for the moment, but who knew how long that would last? She kept a book under her arm as she flopped out on the couch, scribbling down a note on the charm she'd been reading about.

Alex entered the common room from the girl's dorm, heading strait for the most deserted area. She sat on a windowsill, and made herself comfortable, staring out of the window. The mood was in its first quarter, and she eyed it for a long while, thinking quietly to herself "We'll see if what he said was really true, then, won't we?" With that, Alex layed herself accross the windowsill, drawing her knees to her chest and taking a tan envelope from her robes.

Alex slid her finger under the top flap of the envelope, and as she did so a silver bit of powder came from inside it. She hesitated for a moment, and carefully withdrew the letter itself. The paper was obviously not high-quality. It had the same color as newspaper, and looked as though the person who had written it had used it in a hurry. The envelope itself was well-crafted, glimmering green ink accross the front, but Alex could tell by the handwriting that the author of the letter, her father, had very likely hidden nothing but bad news behind the beautiful casing.

Alex paused before opening the letter, and looked around the common room again to be sure she was alone. She stopped when she saw Kyle, and yelled loudly, covering her mouth. "Bloody HELL, Man, you scared the life out of me!" she rasped, covering her chest.

Alex sighed heavily. "Well...I guess I can read it with you here...." she looked back at the letter.

Alex looked at Kyle, smiling lightly. "You can stay..." she really didn't want to be alone, but Alex wanted to be with someone she trusted. With that, she re-directed her attention to the letter again. Taking great care not to rip the fragile paper, Alex unfolded the letter. As she did so, dried green herbs dropped from the folds of the parchement. Alex eyed the herbs, and seeing what they were, quickly brushed them away from herself. The majority of the herbs remained within the folds of the letter. She recognozed them as aconite, the primary ingrediant in the Wolfsbane potion. Alex dumped the dry herbs into the envelope, and let out a whistle that began low and quickly got very high-pitched. Alex's ferret came running, taking the envelope in its mouth and retreating back to the girl's dorm. Alex sighed, "Kyle...promise me you won't tell anyone what you see here..."

Alex nodded at him, and gently unfolded the fragile paper, exposing the information it held. A few small peices of the dried herbs fell to the floor, and Alex dusted them away. The writing on the paper was hurried, done in messy black ink. The handwriting was pointed, every 'curve' of a letter looking triangular. Alex knew this script well. Her own handwriting was very similar to this, for she had learned to write from her father. This was the handwriting she had seen on every Christmas gift, and every letter from home. On occasion, she would see her mother's small, curved writing, but it was usually her father who wrote to her. From Kyle's angle, he could not accuratly make out what the letter said. All he could have successfully read was; "Dear Alexandria, --- sorry ----- can't wr--e much--- Your Mother has been --- ---------------- I hope you --- use ---- aconite, it --- -alk to --- Potions Master --- --- moon --- don't be afraid -f it. The rest of the letter was nothing but a blur to anyone who didn't view it head-on. Alex read the letter slowly, her grip on the paper growing more firm.
