According to Evoulution: First there is a creature that is less advanced than the chicken, it lays 2 eggs and one is a mutant so it is a chicken. it is the only one. it lays eggs mating with whatever its mother was and half its kids are normal and half are chickens. so on and so forth.
so the egg came first.
