Basically its a show on the History channel that follows a big Pawn Shop that buys and sells historical stuff worth in the hundreds and thousands. It got me thinking, how would a Communist Society manage all these historical items?
We can't put ALL of them in museums.
We can't keep a market for it, because it essentialy would require economic inequality for people to be able to easily afford them.
It would be sad to scrap them.
Any ideas?

Well, coming from an historian, it would be horrible to trash items of historical importance, but even museums don't display all of their collection. Many museums have back rooms which contain boxes upon boxes of items that aren't in any shape (or are way too valuable) to be displayed to the public. It would be easy to collect and store or display items without having to build too many museums.
I personally don't like the idea of selling historically important items. Things like that shouldn't be a form of capital gain, but a treasure for all to see. I guess I'm just more inclined to feel as though people have the right to see stories, parts, and pictures of the past since in some way all of history is connected. All ancient cultures mingled with others whether through war or friendship, so we all should see that history. Selling history to the highest bidder is barbaric.
