Let me start by saying that I like twilight. (Note that I said "like" instead of "love" sweatdrop )
I like it because it's different than any other love story, and any other vampire/human relationship. (And I would know, I'm writing a novel/book/story about a relationship like this, just... different. Forget that. XD )
Ok, so vampires here sparkle. Why not? They're original and I'm sure nothing's like this in any other works.
They have superpowers. They're super creatures already, right? So adding some powers won't be something too overrated.
They're vegetarians. They have their choice, and they want to do what they think it's right. Respectable.
Vampires are almost indestructible, since it would be extremely hard for humans to break them apart and burn them down, and yet the other "bad" vampires don't rebel against the Voltori and take over the human kind. I have no answer for this.
Edward has an attraction towards Bella, because she smells yummy and he can't read her thoughts. It puzzles me... I can't find a good explanation for this one, sorry!
She likes Edward because he's hot, and of course, he saved her life from the van that almost killed her. Not to mention, he's mysterious. A little too cliche for my taste, but it's very acceptable.
But what I don't get is, why the heck is Bella so attractive (not physically) towards everyone around her? She's not that nice to everyone around her, and I don't want to think that it all has to do with what she looks like. She's clumsy and blunt... I guess a lot of humans are like that, and it's okay.
But why is she so important to... Edward? Jacob? Mike? Eric? And well, everyone around her?
Not to sound rude, because honestly, it's not my intention. I'm truly curious, and I want to talk to twilight fans, because they probably have a better idea than anything that my brain tells me, which is yelling Mary Sue at the moment, and I don't want to believe it.
Please answer nicely.

i personaly hate bella she is a pain in the back side. i like the books because the story basic is good vamp for human with some trouble along the way. when i read a book all i need is a good basic the rest i make my owne by reading the book realy quickly and changing the end the middly or mayby the whole thing. for example i had a one stage 12 alternate versions of twilight going rouned my head iv stoped counting know. one thing they all have in common is that bella is compleatly different.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that sees this in twilight. The series are good, but her being the main character, I believe that Meyer could have worked on her a bit more.
magic mystery and mayhem@ I like your idea, that to read and to create your alternate endings and stuff. It's pretty much what I do with everything I read/write to explore every loophole.

I used to be somewhat like her, but I wasn't face-first on the floor every two minutes like she is. I just think that she was too "appealing" to everyone, not only romantically towards Edward and Jacob, but to every boy in the whole school. Everyone seems to love her, and I just don't understand why. She's a typical girl who just happens to fall for two not-so-typical guys; so why is she so loved? sweatdrop

The most obvious answer to me is because she's new. Forks is a small town that once someone leaves, they don't come back. Bella came back. So because of that, and the fact that she remembers almost no one, she is really famous around Forks. The guys may just like her cause she's pretty and the only new girl that's not taken, therefore every guy has at least some chance. I think this may be a reason, but I'm not sure if there is any one reason for everyone.
