Shes Got The Look Purchasing That Lolita Look
If you know lolita then you know it's an expensive fashion to get into. The average petticoat can cost up to $200 depending on the designer!
This subforum is dedicated for those looking for help in finding stores, websites or second hand shops where they can get lolita garb without going broke. Of course we will have links to some sites that do sell the more expensive clothes, becuase sometimes splurging is a must!
We have quite a few members in the guild that can help you with finding your discount ruffles and laces so if you need help, post a thread and i'm sure you will be assisted very soon.
All rules of the guild of course apply here as well, please respect them and have fun! Thanks! heart

Ever felt a way with me, just once that all I need...
Lip Service and Tripp are great brands for lolita (gothic) and lolita punk. Lip Service tends to be more dark and elegant whereas Tripp is much more into "hardware" and accessories.
Both brands can be acquired from Hot Topic or www.hottopic.com and tend to be on the expensive side. But I'm always on the look-out for a great discount, and I have gotten very lucky. heart

Yeah, I like Tripp. Good brand. Legit goth as opposed to a lot of stuff in Hot Topic lately. They're nothing about the music anymore. All they want is to dip their fingers in the mainstreem and prey upon the preppy morons who mock goths and then turn around to steal their style. These same morons should rot hardcore. evil
*ahem* Tripp all the way, though. Yeah. ninja

I'm starting to think people of Lolita are a little opinionated.

Ever felt a way with me, just once that all I need...Perhaps that's because the style itself is rather exclusive. I mean, the closest styles in comparison that I can think of are baby doll and victorian goth (steam punk). Here, check out this site. : www.draculaclothing.com
You'll see what I mean. 3nodding ...Entwined in finding you one day...

*ahem* Tripp all the way, though. Yeah. ninja I dunno... i bought some casual corsets from them and they weren't worth what i paid for them at the time... I don't buy any of my lolita clothes from HT mainly because they are overpriced for being miserable quality. Anyone who likes Tripp will like bodyline much better because they are aimed to the lolita crowd, have pretty much the same quality but at half the price. And much more lolita shoes <3 I buy most of my lolita secondhand though, or make them. the an*tai*na shoes are pretty sweet and not too expensive. In addition Secret Shop makes some inexpensive shoes and socks. Closetchild is my favorite second hand store but i still buy the vast majority of my clothes on eglcommsales or ebay when you search for BTSSSB, Angelic Pretty, Metamorphose or what not you can find some decent deals on burando. Anna house is also cheaper than the average brand dresses and great quality and cute <3 Here are links to all the things mentioned. http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/http://closetchild.ocnk.net/http://community.livejournal.com/egl_comm_sales http://www.annahousefashion.com/ http://www.clobbaonline.com/

Just as a warning for Lolitas who are serious about the fashion and don't want to be ostracized from the larger lolita community that exists online and when you discover lolita meet-ups and groups. Hot Topic and all the brands associated to it are very looked down upon. I'm not saying it is right, but it is the truth. Because they, like bodyline, create replicas of the popular burando fashion and profit off of it. There are whole lolita hate groups for brands like these, Lip Service and Tripp more than bodyline though. Clothes that are handmade and bought second hand are far more accepted.

Lip service does lolita replicas? I've never really associated them with lolita. At least not as far as being a lolita brand, I have a couple peices in my wardrobe that fit the desription pretty well.

At least not as far as being a lolita brand, I have a couple peices in my wardrobe that fit the desription pretty well. The main replica i can think of, is a btssb basic black jsk, no real print replicas, their lolita-esque dresses are often far shorter and raeshel-lacey than what is commonly accepted by lolitas. To be honest i never associated them with lolita fashion either, but seeing it in this forum was kind of a red flag that the lolitas here are probably a bit newer on the scene. (I mean no offense! it's perfectly normal for starter lolis to buy clothes from these stores if they aren't familiar with better options!)
