Alright, so vampires are pretty much all the buzz right now, what with a bunch of series and movies I've seen coming out. Which one would you recommend, if any? Of note, I've rented the Twilight movie on Netflix, just out of curiosity wink , but I haven't gotten it in the mail yet.

Remember when Harry Potter was all huge and for a while every other TV show, cartoon, movie and book had magic or magical creatures as part of the plot?

Same thing with the vampire theme.

Just watch; in a couple of years it'll all die down and move to superheroes or psychics or ghosts or whatever recurring fad decides to dag itself out of the shadows and impose itself on every form of entertainment for a few years.

In other words, don't play into the fads, just watch some good quality series.

I was just wondering if there might actually be a "diamond amongst all this coal" in regards to these new series. I've heard True Blood, at least the first season, is actually pretty good.

At this point in time, you're not going to find anything but rubbish trying to cash in on the "fame" of others.

Vampire series have been prevelant for nearly two years now, at least in the book world, so to get anything really good within that genre, you're going to want to start 3 or 4 years in the past.

True Blood made me laugh. Not because it was funny, but because it was that badly done. I couldn't sit through the entirety of the first episode without becoming bored and wandering off.

However, if you must see something with vampires, look at "Let the Right One In" (Norway, 200 cool . It is R, and IMDB can tell you more.

I've heard of that one. I'll have to check it out.
