Please Note: This particular thread is aimed for Shoujo-ai!!!
The Plot: Within the world that is now reigned predominantly by the nightly creatures Vampires coinside with Humans and Lycans, each of them living somewhat peacefully in their own kingdoms. The vampires own most of the world, each brethren watching over their lands making sure no outsiders wander onto their territory; they themselves know that the humans fear them, and in order to stop them from rebelling the vampires hire them for their own dirty work as well as using them as food. As for the Lycans, they too are hired to do most jobs the vampires themselves wish not to do or, if shown exceptional skills in battle, are recruited into the higher ranks of the army. The vampiric kingdoms weren't soley ruled by one vampire but were instead governed by high councils who made decisions based on their knowledge of the world around them and often made decisions that would benefit their people. Well, most were...
One fateful month the kingdom of La'Cour, home to a somewhat ruthless clan or so it was rumuoured, had raged war upon ; their reasons being that they wished for total domination. They had found out that this kingdom was built upon a precious coal mine, which they had sought after for months. Coal was a big and widely sought after material seeing it was the very fuel for most things they used in the world, and after being refused permission to mine there King Malcheya III decided to take it by force. Refusing to let go without a fight the opposing brethren rampaged onto their enemy's lands out of desperation, and in doing so war was raged between both kingdoms as they fought for their lives and rights.
-------- To start with, whoever wishes to roleplay this one on one thread, we could make our character's start off in different realms to begin with before ultimately meeting up at the Rathmore Ball, a sort of fesitive party that could be held at your character's kingdom in which mine would attend in disguise. Of course, this roleplay will hold some light fluff, so we could make it into a slight Romeo & Juliet scenario, but only if you wish it blaugh
Character stats aren't needed- you would be expected to explain your character's appearence and basic personality in your opening post; it's up to you how much or how little you give away so early in the roleplay. As the title of this roleplay suggests, perhaps you could create a fair, somewhat kind hearted character who would be a noble/member of the council to counter my cold, somewhat uncaring soldier...but like I said, I'll leave it in your hands.
If you do wish to roleplay this thread with me, can I kindly ask you to PM me to let me know, that way I know who to expect a reply from.

The council's meeting was adjourned. All the members left the hall with anguish heavy in their heart. Ever since the war began, none of the wisest vampires in all of Durlancre that made up the counsel could come to a decent conclusion on their next strategic move. They weren't necessarily losing the war, but their strong hold was slipping, their men dieing. The kingdom of Durlancre was growing impatient, for Sir Malcheya III and his army had been there for months now. Unlike the kingdom of La'Cour, Durlancre had no king, but was led by the council of Mitternacht. It is made up of 15 members, the wisest among the common people, that dealt with everything a king would. Although now, they've come to a dire predicament. What was the next step, what could they do now? During today's meeting, only 14 members were present. The 15th was sick and couldn't attend. For if she was there, they would for sure not have to go to into a second session. As the members flooded out of the hall, the entry doors swung open and in floated the angel of the Durlancre people, Kiurikula. All the council stopped as she came in, her face very pale from the sickness. She glared at every single one of them as she passed; she sensed the bitter anger rising from every single one because they were nothing more than childish, ignorant men that couldn't come to an agreement. With this tacit look, they all knew to storm back into the hall. Roughly an hour later, they came to the vague conclusion that they would simply not attack until the La'Cour kingdom did. Before any of the members could even stand, Kiu got up and left the hall, her beautiful dress floating behind her. She left in a hurry to get back to her bed, tired beyond comprehension. Although her skin was as pale as the snow that falls on the most warm day of winter, it was usually of an olive color. She had high cheek bones and long black hair that shone blue in the warm sunlight. Her lips were full and sensual, her eyes a vivid green with a hint of bronze. She was slender, yet shorter than most other girls in the kingdom. Even when she was fighting and covered in blood and dirt, she remained beautiful. Her personality was radiant and contagious, a warm smile usually on her face. She was kind, yet shy and quite. She was earnest and obstinate, probably the most stubborn person in the entire Mitternacht. She made her way back to her two story castle on her black mare in a fit of anger, longing for the warmth of her bed.

A new day had come. The warm sunlight spilled over the large capital of the kingdom. The plumes of smoke from the coal mines reached towards the cloudless sky, the dark arms being penetrated by strong sun rays. Kiu awoke and groaned as she rolled off her bed. Incense burned in her room, the walls filled with herby smoke to calm her sickness. She breathed in, her sinuses finally cleared. She felt better, but her stomach flip-flopped as she thought of the business she had to complete today. A big desicion was to be made, a decision she didn't want to make.
Their armies had just been defeated in a rather large battle, but suddenly pulled back when they met the defenses at the mines. She felt secure as far as the mines went, but if they were to attack again today, she held no hope of being able to hold them. They needed help; Durlance was in serious trouble. Kiu felt rushed, but strangely secure. All she needed to do was make haste of the day and gather all the cousel members. First, though, was breakfast.
Her horse swiftly curved its way through the streets. Kiu jumped off in front of the doors and made her way inside, her chainmail swishing as she threw the doors open. The counsel members sat at their desks and fell silent at her presence. She stood infront of the large podium that stood in the middle of the giant room.
"Our meeting has begun." Her voice boomed in the hall. "We have many pressing matters, most important being should we ask for help from our northern border? Do you believe we can honestly hold off this army? And who knows, they very well might have already sent for help. We've suffered losses, but none great so far. All battles have been minor, as if they are picking us off slowly. I feel a great battle omniscently on the horizon, and I want to be ready."
No one spoke for a second. Then the 5th member of the cousel stood and spoke, "We do need help, greatly, your honor. We should ask our northern border, and we should also ask our western border. That is my home country and they are prestigious warriors." He sat down and waited for a response. The silence was deafening in the hall until Kiu broke it, "All in favor, say 'lonpre'." Men's voices filled the room, all in favor.
"Very well then, we shall call for assistance." Kiu turned towards the 7th member, informing him he shall ride to both borders. He agreed and left in the midday sun.
"Alright, onward with our next pressing manor. What is our next strategic move?"
The 13th member stood. "I believe we should hold off and wait for their next move. We are pretty well established so if there is an attack before we get our entire army here, we should be able to persevere."
"Very well then. Our meeting is dismissed. Although, I must tell you 13, I will be patrolling the flanks this evening, and if I see any army near a coal mine that isn't well prepared for battle, you will be the one to suffer."
With that Kiu stood and left the hall. She returned back home. She had no servants, no one in her household but her.
Kiu's father was the king of Durlancre; she was the heir to his throne. Her father, King Louis Durlancre, was a very favored man and treated his people equally. He liked to maintain peace throughout all of the kingdoms. But one day, tragedy struck, and he died suddenly of a heart attack. Kiu was left alone at the spry age of 15, no mother, no family. She had never really known who her mother was, she just knew that she was a peasant that lived within the village. Kiu's father was a sort of playboy, many one-night-stands on his list. Kiu was the only one that he had kept. After he died, she felt she needed to recruit the help of fellow wise men of the village, so she assembled the wisest of them all and created the Counsel of Mitternacht. Being of noble birth, she could live in a grand palace in the center of the city with maids at her very beck and call, but she chose not to live that life, but one of a common person, the middle class.
She sat alone in her house, at the hour of one, not quite sure what to do. Nothing exciting ever happened until evening and she new that the kingdom at war with her people would not attack for a while now. She sat alone, left to her own dismal thoughts.

Kiu awoke, her eyelids fluttering over her green eyes. As she rolled over, a sharp pain struck her back. She threw herself back onto the bed, groaning in pain. Kiu had been sleeping so much lately getting over her sickness that she must have thrown out her back. Grumbling, she heaved her thin body up and began pulling on her armor. She was to go to the flanks and make sure there were enough troops, for she did not do it the previous evening, in case there was a surprise attack today. She was not to lose her kingdom.
He helmet, the beautiful helmet of her mother, was placed onto her head, only to be worn when she felt was appropriate. It was meant to intimidate. The helmet was that of an old Greek helmet. The middle of the helmet reached an arm down to cover the nose and the carvings in the mix of silver, gold, bronze, and copper told an intricate story of how her clan came to be, but to any mortal, it would only look as if they were swirls and squiggles. Her teeth gleamed with strength as it slip upon her hair, the helmet giving of an aura of power. The helmet was heavy, nonetheless, but Kiu was a vampire; she could take the weight with her neck. Her horse gayly galloped to the strongholds and whinyed as the smoke from the mines swirled about them. She rode down infront of all the mines and secured in her mind that there were enough men, hoping though that her messanger would come soon with news from the two borders. They wouldn't be holding for long. As she passed the last mine and galloped up the ramp to the tower, another horse rode up. She turned her mare around to face the messanger.
"Highness..."
"Oh please, do not call me that. I am as common as you." She said with dismay in her voice."
"I do apologize." The messanger replied hurriedly, " You are needed at the counsel of Mitternacht. They said it was rather urgent."
"Very well." Annoyed, she rushed towards the gate, her mare in a full gallop. The helmet bobbed on her head as she her smile of comfort faded.
She threw open the doors of the hall and removed her helmet. She sat at her podium and waited for someone to speak.
"Well, I haven't got all day..."
"Very well, ma'am. We need to speak of the annual ball..."
"Hold on. You called me from the flanks, from my JOB to talk about a BALL?? Why the hell do you think I give a damn? What has been wrong with this cousel lately? Ever since this war has begun, you all have sat here in this hall with your thumbs in your asses unable to make any logical descision. What the hell is wrong with you all? You are all a bunch of ignorant men."
Silence resonated off the walls as soon as Kiu's voice stopped. Feeling a bit guilty at this outburst, she spoke in a less intimidating voice, close to a whisper.
"Yes we shall hold the ball. It's still rather early in the day. We shall hold it the day after tomorrow. We will start the preperations today and I will let everyone know of it. Very well, we are done. Go home to your families and don't worry about anything for the rest of the day. I shall take care of it all. Thank you."
She was the first one to make a move. She left the hall, feeling better already. It was time to start the preperations for the ball.
The theme this year was to be a darker sort of theme, with many crimsons, blacks, golds, and silvers. It was to celebrate a good year, already have way over. She spread the word all over town and by 3:00, everyone was in a fit to prepare. New gowns were to be made, all the tapestry, candles, food, everything. And the ball was to be held in her highness's house.

Finally, whatever storm cloud that hung over Kiu's head had finally passed, and as she groggily sat up in her bed, she felt a rush of calm and sublimeness. She had slept many times during the days following her sickness, but the sensation of being well rested finally caught up to her. The sickness was finally gone. Today was the day she was to be fitted for her gown.
A warm autumn breeze rushed low along the roads, kicking up dust. Kiu rode up and down as her mare lightly trotted. She couldn't help but love this time of year. The ball was her favorite, ever since she was a little girl. She tried to be as serious and strong and tom-boyish as she possibly could all the time, but she kept it to herself that she has a secret love for wearing dresses and going to a ball. Especially since her father died, she held the ball close to her heart, for it always fell on the day of her father's birthday. He always insisted on it being known as a celebration for the time of year, not the time of his birth, but she held it in that respect. The celebration, though, was held throughout Durlancre. In the other cities of the kingdom, families celebrated individually with various dishes and presents, but in the central city, they held the extravigant ball.
Kiu walked into the tailors, giddiness filling her mind. She kept level headed though, for she was here strictly for business.
After her fitting was complete, she left the tailor building feeling better than ever. Her dress was to be beautiful and a smile eluminated on her face. She trotted towards the decorators home. She needed to begin decorating the dance hall, for the ball was only a day away.

The dance hall in Kiu's house was huge. The ceiling rose high into an ominous dark, giant pillars supporting it throughout the hall. Their were four columns on either side spread out evenly, with the main floor spread in the middle. A giant fireplace sat alone in the middle of the wall, always silently waiting to be used. This year, down the columns, large scarves of black, gold, and crimson were wrapped around the milky white pillars. The floor was of onyx colored tiles, which made the dance hall ever dark as the high ceiling. Although, this year, everyother tile was casted in gold, which gave the hall more light. Gigantic windows covered the far wall with the fireplace, but during the hall's hibernation, curtains were casted over them. These were tied off by the windows, the curtains being a crimson color. On every side, there were big, comfy crimson chairs with intricate carvings that told the story of the kingdom. Kiu sat in the largest, which told the story of her father. If she were to have any significance to this kingdom, her story was to be carved into the wood of the Dark Forest to the south and made into a chair. Among the columns on either side, slightly gray scarves hung down every so often from the ceiling, to symbolize the rainy season of spring, in which Kiu was born. A large feast table was placed infront of the fireplace, spanning two windows on either side. That was how Kiu's beautiful dance hall looked, and the ball was only a night away.
