They say the best way to escape a bad life is to start over. To leave the old one behind and turn to a new, blank page. Tai had done it many times. Each story ended the same way, yet the young half-blood hadn't given up yet. He'd arrived at the school a few days before and had yet to speak with anyone. At the moment the boy wandered the halls, looking for something to do. His sword was strapped to his back, the hilt peeking over his shoulder where he could reach it easily. Not that he'd need it here. So far it seemed you were more likely to die of bordem then by the hand of one of the students. Perhaps it seemed strange for someone to expect such a thing, but most of Tai's life was spent fighting. He was used to watching his back at all time. It wasn't something he enjoyed doing, but after so many years of it, he really stopped caring. So for the moment the halls were his as the half-blood strolled them alone.

It was quiet in the school. October laid back on the couch in the lobby of the school. She considered it peaceful. It was dark and cool. She wanted something to do. Someone to talk to. She looking there looking out at the snow that covered the school grounds. She wanted to do something but she was all alone. The rest of the staff was gone for the day and all the students we back at the dorms. Even her brother Damien who was usually with her had gone back to the dorms to set up for a Christmas party that was later that night. She wanted to get ready for it, and she almost got up to do so when she saw a shadow walking around the halls. She smiled and the excited little light bulb went off in her head.

As quiet as it was Dian'Chet couldnt help but run around the school on his normal workout routine. As hes running he cant help but wish that there was someone else willing to run with him.

October glanced up to try to get a better look at the shadowy figure moving around the school halls. Then it struck her. "Dian'Chet!!" she yelled out to him.

Dian'Chet hears someone calling his name so he stops and looks around. Noticing October he yells back. "Hey October how are you this morning?"

"Bored out of my skull. What are you doing here? I thought everyone was off planning for the party. I mean come on Damien is even out there with the party spirit." She got up and climbed the stairs to meet up with Dian'Chet.

"Well ive never been one for the whole christmas thing. I think its over rated. Besides i have to make sure that i stick to my exercise routine." Dian'Chet pauses for a second. "Come to think of it why arnt you there?"

"Too many people are there now setting up. And I'm bored." She stretched her arms up over her head and swung her hair away from her face. "Well why don't you go with me? I need someone to go with. And you need to get out and have fun." She smiled and let out a laugh. She leaned up against the wall and rested her head on the wall, looking up at the window on the high part of the wall in front of her. "And besides, it's no fun being alone. You get bored and then you start to think of what you are doing when you're all alone. I mean I live forever but almost all my friends that were human have died and passed. I feel sad for them. I miss them. And being alone just reminds me of how lonely it can be when you shelter yourself from others." She staired off pass the snowy window.

"I think that would be very nice, and i know what you mean about being alone." He runs his hand through his hair. "I mean im still human and all but i may as well be a vampire or something."

She smiled. "So you're my date for the party?" She giggled and slowly brushed her hair out of her eyes.

Tai paused when he heard voices, thinking it over in his head before he walked toward them. Perhaps he'd find some company. Everyone was going crazy of the Christmas party. It was really quite boring to him. Atleast when you had no one to go with. The half-blood stopped at the bottom of the steps, looking up at the two students. Hey. Any idea what we're supposed to do for this whole party thing? he asked, leaning against the wall.

"Mainly, it's dancing and eating. You know normal party stuff. You should come with us." She smiled at the student. "If I might ask who are you?"
