'Tis not the last that we'll see of this series. In the back of volume 10 it states that there will be a volume 11 in the US. ( At least, I hope so. sweatdrop )

Well also considering how slow the US manga market (at leat for updating) is, we're usually on average six months behind. (considering that the games that come out over there first and time to come over...) So i'd agree with the late spring/summer. But I'll bet you this... Volume 11 won't be the last one either. Then we'll have to wait LONGER.

If you look at the japan release dates for each of the books, Sugisaki takes about a whole year before releasing each book! gonk So people who fell in love with the series at book 1 in japan had to wait a year for each volume, whereas the people in the US and other places would see the series later (because it takes a while for the word of a good anime/manga to leave japan) and wait for maybe two months each as Tokyopop releases them. Now that we are all caught up (almost) it will be even (kind of). confused

Kaitou Daaku is right, but it also goes deeper than that. There's no set schedule for the manga (in DNAngel's case, it seems; it may be because ASUKA is cutting Sugisaki some slack for working on three series at once) - it fluctuates depending on how quickly the mangaka produces enough pages to publish a tankoubon.
If you put it one way, Americans have it nice - if a series has a significant number of volumes out, you only have to wait a few months in between one volume and the next - in Japan, it's different, since the fans following the Japanese editions have to wait for both the tankoubon (if they so choose to) and the mangaka. @_@ In my opinion, the Japanese fans suffer more.
Japanese Tankoubon Approximate Waiting Times from volume 1 to 2: 13 months 2 to 3: 8 months 3 to 4: 11 months 4 to 5: 7 months 5 to 6: 11 months 6 to 7: 10 months 7 to 8: 5 months 8 to 9: 4 months 9 to 10: 7 months 10 to 11: 18 months
And how fast has Tokyopop been dishing out the volumes? Volumes 1-7 and 9 were released bimonthly; 8 and 10 were trimonthly.
Unlike the English fans, the Japanese ones have to also perservere through hiatuses (like the one that's going on right now with Sugisaki - since August or so, no new DNAngel has been published in ASUKA).
It may be a luxury to (possibly) have a DNAngel chapter to read every month, but people who prefer the higher-quality releases of the chapters (better paper, ink, overall durability; most just buy these over the magazines) have had to wait longer than the English fans normally do for one volume.
Right now (at the time of writing this), it's been four months since 11's release (as stated above). That's already the longest time a fan of the English edition has had to wait for one volume to come out. With the hiatuses so far, it looks like fan of the Japanese version will have to wait another year or more again.
Sorry for ranting - it bothers me when anyone complains about the speed of the English edition. Sorry if I was also repetitive in random places - I'm a bit tired at the moment. x_x
edit: Slightly revised to make more sense. sweatdrop
