I know I do for a fact. I can't help but get infuriated when I lose or die. I've gone through 3 controllers in the past year and I learned some very important rules about the physical capabilities of plastic.
1. Plastic breaks when thrown at a high velocity speed.
2. Physical abuse (punching, kicking, throwing, etc.) defiantly breaks your controller.
3. Don't use your control as a lasso when you beat the game.
