User Name: D i R T i E de-TALES
Teacher name: Johnathan Aaron Yelsah
House: Hufflepuff
Year: 2nd year Transfiguration teacher/Head of Hufflepuff
Age: Twenty-two
Description: Blood status = Pureblood
Wand = Thirteen and three-quarters, mahogony, dragon heartstring
History: Johnathan (a.k.a. John) was born in a very strict asian family. His mother is a witch, his father is a wizard. John was put into the magic world even during his months in the womb. He had his times in the womb when he had to taste the awful potions his mother drank for him to take in. But it was all for preparation for when it was time for him to live in this life. And that was why, when he was born, he was able to levitate his blankie an inch from the ground. His mother was proud. His father, seeing as his son couldn't do anything that he could do when he was all grown up, wanted John to get a career in the police force for the Ministry. So his parents wanted him to be an Auror. For the first ten years of his life, John practiced with his mother and his grandfather at learning magic. The simple spells of course. Nothing too dangerous for innocent little John to handle.

By the time John got his letter, he was already a whole year ahead of his classmates. But of course, he didn't want to go ahead of his classmates and go a year ahead of them. He just stuck it out. John's years, however exciting they were, were very stressing. Not only was he dealing with advanced classes during his fifth year, he had been going from one relationship to the next in an instant. By the time he was in his sixth year, John had given up on relationships and decided to live a single life, deal with school for the time being. When he was done with Hogwarts would be the time he would think about getting himself into a committed relationship. Unfortunately that was not the case for John.

Right after finishing Hogwarts, John had signed up at the Ministry for Auror training. Like in Hogwarts, John found himself ahead of his partners and finished his his training years a year and a half earlier than the rest of his class. So at nineteen, John was out in the field with the rest of the professional Aurors. His Auror days were ones he will never forget. Even though he was badly hurt during some assignments, John loved ever minute of his job. And then he heard the one thing that frightened him to death. Hogwarts was secretly invaded by Lord Voldemort. Instantly, John had asked his boss if he could be one of the Aurors assigned to watch after Hogwarts. The reason for his begging? His cousin, Angel, is a student at Hogwarts. He needed to look after her.

During his assignment at Hogwarts, John was to be inside the field. Meaning he had to be a student again. With the help of Polyjuice Potion and the hair of a muggle boy from London, John remained undercover for while looking after Angel. Soon, the Dark Lord was defeated. And after that one experience, John knew that it was time to take a break. So during the summer, John went to Professor Daskin, the new Headmaster, and asked for a position as a teacher. Luckily for John, he got a position as a teacher for his favorite subject, Transfiguration. He was also given the position as Head of Hufflepuff, his house during his years of Hogwarts. Now that he was taking a break from his Auror career, he could teach his favorite subject while watching over his cousin. With how rebellious that girl was becoming now, John was going to make sure he kept his full eyes on her at all times. Especially when she's with that boyfriend of hers.

Speaking of his cousin, on the first day of summer vacation, John brought Angel to the Ministry of Magic to get her memory erased of all the horrible things she saw during her fifth year. The horrible things meaning the death images she sees of all the people she knows. His cousin is a death Seer. With her memory erased of all memory of the three deaths that she saw, John is hoping that Angel will not have these images ever again, at least not during her sixth year and seventh year at Hogwarts. He hopes that the memory erasing will give Angel a peaceful year at Hogwarts.
Personality: John doesn't take bull from anyone. He has a hot temper and does not minf blowing off steam in front of everyone. He does not care to pull out his wand and curse someone. John has this hard barrier around him that makes him hard to get along with. If you're a relative or a close friend, those are the only people he will soften up to. Now that he is a teacher, the guy is not going to take any bull from his students. He has strict rules and he wants them followed no matter what. Now that he is a full time teacher, and a full time chaperone for his cousin, it will be hard to see him with a smile unless it was a smirk. So in other words, don't get on his bad side or you'll be sorry. He has no time to play around anymore.
Pet: John has a female snowy owl he named Remy. She has a white ribbon tied around her leg with a small bell attached to the end. A little something Angel and his sister decided to do for Remy even when he disapproved of it. But now, he loved the little jingle Remy had with her whenever she flies towards him or Angel.
Position: Head of Hufflepuff and Transfiguration teacher
Other: John is slightly blind on his left eye, the cause was from an assignment during his early years as an Auror in the Ministry.

I have a few rules in my class that will be followed no matter what house or what year you're in.

Behavior
Absolutely no speaking unless you are told to. I have good hearing people, I've been in the Auror business for years and my hearing is enhanced to a very high level. And I may be slightly blind on my left eye, but I will be able to see which one of you students is breaking my rules. Now on to other business, like speaking, I will not allow any wand movement in my class while I am teaching. Unless I give you permission to, I would like all of you not to take out your wand. If I see just the tip of your wand, it will be confiscated for the whole day and you will have two days worth of detention. I am teaching you things that you will use in the real world ladies and gentlemen. I have no time for horse play in my class. That is why I do not believe in a warning policy. Out in the real world, there are no warnings, it's either you deal with the punishment, or pay the consequence for being defiant. I am not here to babysit you for a whole period. That is not my job. So I expect my rules to be followed. And don't think that rebelling against my rules is going to solve anything. It's your own decision to be here. If you want to fail my class, then fine, fail it. I am only here to teach the students that want to learn. If you want to be a smart a** and try to do stupid stuff in my class, get out now. But remember that this is a required class, especially for when you are looking for a job as an Auror or a Healer. You pay attention in my class, and you pass it, I can already see a bright future for you.

Also, like I said about the warning policy, I also don't have a second chance policy. So think very hard about what you do to get yourself kicked out of my class. Once you're out of my class and my role sheet, you're out for good. I will not take second chances. One mistake that leads you to getting out of my class and it's game over for you. I will take you back however, when you can persuade me to take you back. But I'm a hard man to persuade, and don't you dare go to the Headmaster for help. He is a busy man and does not need to likes of you drop outs in his way of his job.

Homework and Tests
I'm very strict on homework and expect them to be turned in on time. Extra credit will be given to those students who turn their assignments before the deadline. All assignments turned in late will be burned into dust right in front of your eyes. I will not tolerate late work at all. I give at least one or two essays a week, but the main thing I would like all of you students to do as homework is review what you have learned in the whole week. Every Friday, whether I am sick or absent for another reason, I will give out a test. Yes ladies and gentlemen, a test. Not a quiz. Thirty questions (not multiple-choice) about what you have learned that week. And then two physical excercises to show me if you were really paying attention. Also, before I forget, if you have not completed a homework assignment and want to turn it in on time, come straight to tutoring and you have until curfew to finish your assignment and turn it in. After curfew, I will not accept it.

Tutoring
I only give out tutoring during eighth period only. Any other time will not work for me. If you are free to come during eighth period, come in and sit at a desk. I will be walking around to come and assist anyone that needs help. But my same rules apply to tutoring. No wand movements unless you have my permission.

Detention
I have a very big thing for detention ladies and gentlemen. Break any of my rules, even if it's a little break, you'll be given detention. And I'm not going to go easy on you, even if you're first years. I am not one to give out lines for you to copy. That doesn't do anything. I'm not into torturing either. That's pointless and tacky for teachers to do. But I will have individual assignments for you to do, and they will not be easy.

Tardies and Absences
If you are absent or tardy during my class, it is your responsibility to get the assignments and the lessons that were taught that day. I will not review or remind any students of any homework assignments that were given the day after. You must learn to fend for yourself ladies and gentlemen. Live your own life. I am not here to mommy you. Also, when you return from your absence, I would like a note from either your Head of House or the nurse. Never ever ask the Headmaster, unless your reason for being absent was because you had a meeting with him. I want this note to be handwritten from the teacher and not from your handwriting. If you are in my house, please come to my office either with an excuse from the nurse or your reason for being absent from my class. It is the same for tardies, the only way you can get out of being punished is with a note from either the nurse or your Head of House. No note, one point will be taken away from your house for every minute you're late. And you will also get detention.

These are my rules ladies and gentlemen. I expect them to be followed. If they are broken in any way, it will lead you to a detention or getting kicked out of my class.

My classes are all top notch classes, meaning that even in the basic level you'll be taught in an advanced level. Think of it like an Honors class or an Advanced Placement class for muggle students. The classes below are the only classes I teach, nothing more.

Transfiguration Level I : : For first year students only. All first years that have failed this level should both be ashamed of themselves and will also be told to take this class the next school year.

Transfiguration Level II :: For second and third year students that have passed Level I. If you fail this class, you must take it over in your next year or you can come during tutoring hours to make up the credits. Level II, Part I will be taught during the second year. Level II, Part II will be taught during the third year.

Transfiguration Level III :: For forth and fifth year students only. All those who have failed this class will either take it over the next year or during tutoring hours to make up those credits. Level III, Part I will be taught during the forth year. Level III, Part II will be taught during the fifth year.

Transfiguration Level IV :: For sixth year students only. Students who have failed this class will have to take it during their seventh year and their seventh year only.

Advanced Transfiguration :: This is not a required class, but I will give it to seventh years only who have passed Level IV. And I shall also hold monthly Saturday classes for this class, where you learn the most advanced spells and work with them. This is for students who can follow directions and will not fool around.

Remember, my classes are all advanced classes. I will not expect slacking off during my class.

~Kathryn J. Yelsah~

Kathryn walked into the Transfiguration classroom wringing her hands. She was nervous as it was and now she was thinking that coming here had not been the brightest of her ideas. Her being here meant that she was skipping History of Magic and though she had only skipped one class before she had gotten a week of detention for it and her father had not been happy. Now not only was she skipping a class but she was daring to interrupt her father’s class on top of it. Kathryn stood outside the door biting her lip and she pondered whether to go in or not. She wished Angel was here because she would be much easier to talk to. She also would have been able to talk to her about it in either the common room or the girl’s dorm this morning and failing that she would feel much better asking Emily if she could talk to Angel than going into her father’s classroom. Then again there would be Professor Travis there as well and he wouldn’t want to be someone Kathryn wanted to deal with either. She would also probably get into trouble for skipping History and her father would hear about it and it would just be a down hill road from there. With all of this on her mind Kathryn closed her eyes tight, took a deep breath, and with a desperate plea to god, pushed open the door to her father’s classroom. As soon as Kathryn saw the inside she looked around slightly confused. There were a few first years she didn’t know but her father was no where to be seen. Her father was always early for class and yet he wasn’t here. Granted the bell hadn’t rung yet but it couldn’t be long off or she would have just gone to his office. With a sigh Kathryn looked around again.Even though she was scared she really needed to talk to him which is the entire reason she was here instead of the History of Magic classroom.

User Image John stepped into his classroom from the back room ready to start his lesson, only to stop dead in his tracks at the sight of his daughter at the entrance. Brow arched he continued on to his desk without a word till he placed quizzes on the students' desk. "You all have the whole period to finish this test. These questions are from the five chapters of reading you were all suppose to do over the break. Critically think of the answers before you respond. I want more than three sentences for each question. And for the constructed response on the last page, I want you to fill up the entire front and back of the parchment. You may begin," he said then summoned his daughter to him.

~Kathryn J. Yelsah~

Kathryn had been about to turn around and leave when her father entered the classroom. As he did her heart skipped a beat and she tried to remember how to breathe as she stood there silently waiting to be acknowledged. When he did summon for her she found her feet could hardly move. It seemed such a stupid reason to be here now but the damage was done. She walked over to her fathers desk and leaned down so that only he could hear her. "Da... Professor." She stopped suddenly even more nervous. She really wanted the comfort of her father right now but she knew that she was in school and it was during a lesson so she felt she should call him Professor. But at the same time this wasn't strictly school related so she really didn't know what to do about it. Deciding to just try and keep it formal she continued half shaking. "I heard that there is a new Potions Master and that she is from Durmstrang, loves the dark arts, is cruel and heartless, and wants to torture the kids here to get rid of competition." It was the rumor she had heard going around and saying it aloud seemed kind of ridiculous but she was still terrified and it all seemed very real in her mind. She fought back tears just praying her father would understand as she looked at his desk seeing as she couldn't bring herself to look at him. "I'm so scared daddy, I don't want to go to Potions now and I don't know what to do. I would talk to Angel, but she's still away." She didn't care that she had called him daddy this time. In fact she hadn't even really noticed.

User Image Brow arched some more, John wondered where these rumors were coming from and how Hogwarts even managed to create such ludacrious lies. Letting out a sigh and shaking his head, John caressed his daugther's cheek for a second or two then pulled away with a tired, but warm smile. "Honey, that's ridiculous. For one thing, Headmistress Wixom would never allow pain to by inflicted on her students. Whatever you may have heard from classmates of some sort, they're not all true," he explained to her in a soft voice. Just then, the door to his classroom opened again. This time to reveal - "Angel?"

{ angela ღ к я ι s т α ღ yelsah }

User ImageSmiling brightly, and with her hair now down to her waist, Angel closed the door to the Transfiguration classroom softly so as to not disturb what looked to be test taking first years. She could practically hear the wheels in their little minds revolving over what to write on the parchment. She continued to smile brightly as she made her way to the front of the classroom, a suitcase in one hand and her messenger bag in another. "Sorry, I'm late. I know I was suppose to come earlier bu--Kathryn why aren't you in History of Magic?" She looked down at her niece, confused as to why she was here.

Kathryn had bit her lip as her father spoke and was about to respond when the door opened and she had seen Angel. Normally she would have run to embrace her aunt since she hadn't seen her for months but right now she just didn't have the energy. When Angel started in on her for not being in History of Magic she shrunk a little. "Well you're not in Charms." She muttered before clapping a hand over her mouth. "Sorry. I was just explaining to my dad about what I heard about the New Potions Master." With that she turned back to John. "Well even if she doesn't want to torture students they say she is still from Durmstrang and has lived with the Dark Arts for a long time. They say that the new Care of Magical Creatures was a Death Eater and here to kill us off but she's Alyssa's Grandmother so that can't be true. I just have a hard enough time doing Defense Against the Dark Arts and I really don't think I can handle Potions if she's like everyone says." Kathryn bit her lip hoping they wouldn't say anything about her remark to Angel.

User ImageBrows raised in disbelief that her own niece, who she remembered before she left was quiet and shy, had talked back to her. She looked at her cousin and raised a hand up to him. "I got this," she said to him in a half amused, half authoritive tone then turned to look at her niece. "Two things: One, the only reason I'm here instead of Charms is because I just got here. Don't sweat me after I just got back. And two, you're a teacher's daughter. No staff is going to hurt you. You can forget that part. As for the whole Defense and Potions thing, don't sweat it. Now that I'm no longer MIA, I can easily help you out when you need me on homework or some crap. Although, with the new potions master you talk about, you'll need to get back with me on that. I'll need to see what I'm dealing with before I can judge myself. Okay, kid?" She patted Kathryn's head reassuringly then slipped out of the yellow and black plaid jacket she was still wearing. Because she had been travelling, she hadn't had time to change out of her muggle clothes and into her robes.

~Kathryn J. Yelsah~

Kathryn shrank down even lower as Angel started in on her about her comment about Charms. "Sorry Aunt Angel, I didn't mean disrespect." She still really was shy but she was coming out of it little by little with people she trusted and Angel was probably the one she was closest too so she had become a little more open and upon her scolding Kathryn for not being in History she had let slip some defiance. She was actually having more and more defiant thoughts lately but had no intention of getting more detention or getting grounded so she held her tongue for the most part. She was glad that Angel had handled her rebellious tongue this time instead of her father since Angel was nicer and her father looked really tired. All Kathryn could do as Angel continued on about the professor was nod. It seemed suddenly obvious that nobody would hurt her since she was the daughter of a professor. One of the strictest teachers as a matter of fact. "So you really think there is nothing to worry about? I was nervous when I heard I'd have 2 new professors and then I heard the rumors and just panicked. I guess I best get to history and hope Professor Prochazka lets me slide for my tardiness." She spoke softly but didn't turn to leave. With Angel here she had a lot more confidence and she knew that when she left she would be a wreck again.

User ImageAngel let out a snort and tried to suppress her laughter as it came out as muffled giggles. She loved her niece. She was so cute sometimes. "Kat, this is Hogwarts. I won't be surprised if the term bull s**t actually originated at this school. You'll learn in due time that rumors heard here are nothing more than just rumors. You'd be lucky if only part of what you heard was real." Shaking her head, Angel pulled out her wand and stuck it in her hair where she began to curl her long straight locks like noodles till it was in a messy bun. "Professor, could I use your backroom to change into my robes before I head off to Charms? Also, can Kat and I have passes?" she asked then picked up her suitcase. She gave Kathryn a "don't move" look then went to the backroom without another word to either her cousin or her niece.

{ johnathan ● α α я σ и ● yelsah }

User Image John stared bewildered at his cousin's behavior. Finally all his worries were put to rest as he finally allowed himself to think that the experience in Asia with their great aunt had helped her. Shaking his head, he turned to look at Kathryn. "Look, Kathryn, teachers have rules to follow themselves. Even Professor Snape from all those years ago knew his limits as a teacher and he was a Death Eater too. So even if the two new teachers were to be strict and knew Dark Magic, there is nothing to worry about either way. They know their expectations as teachers and will keep to it. We'll talk later okay?" he explained as he wrote excuse notes for Kathryn and Angel. When Angel came out in her robes and her wand still holding up her messy bun, he handed the notes to her then went to check on his students. "Here's your note, Kat. Get to class," Angel said with a wink to her niece then headed out the door and towards her Charms class.

Kathryn nodded at Angel's comments still looking timid. When her father explained about the role of teachers she nodded. It all seemed really silly to her now and she kind of wished she hadn't disturbed him over something so petty, but there was still a small part deep down that scared her. She gladly took the note grateful she at least wouldn't have detention with Prochazka as well. "Thank you Professor." She decided to keep it formal as she fought the urge to call him daddy and give him a hug. She took the note and then headed off for class.
