This is a rp' that i decided to start off- using my character Rose. This is open and anyone who wants to join is free to. Please abide by any rules set by this guild (if there is anything, I'm not too sure, I don't think so).
Join in, feel free to help me out since I am still new to this whole steampunk idea. Thanks!

Rose's hazel eyes fixed onto the drink that was placed in front of her, she let out a sigh. The man behind the bar smiled and nodded his head and then went to attend another customer. She picked it up and swirled the ice around in it before taking a sip and swallowing hard.

"Long day?" The man said returning to her.

"A very long day. It seems as if I've become bored with this place," she said looking around her favorite tavern. Men sat and told jokes around their favorite tables after their hard day at work. The bronze clock in the corner of the room which held all sorts of gizmos and springs read the time as 10:54 pm. "Another day wasted," she said sighing and taking another sip from her drink. She kept her eyes on the door as if hoping someone would come in and save her from this insanely boring life she lived day to day, month to month.

Suddenly there was a clatter as the door swung open and a Gentleman with curly Brown hair and a tophat stepped into the bar. "Hey look! its Hatter!" cried a man in the Corner. "HATTER!" Cried the other patrons, raising their glasses. "Youre too kind my friends!Too kind!" He laughed, as he sat down at the bar.

Rose's eyes immediatly shot to the man who stepped into the tavern, they narrowed as the men began raising their glasses to him. Interesting... She smiled to herself and turned to face her drink once more, she took a few gulps and finished it off as the "hatter" man sat beside her. She could feel a cold breeze now that came from the door; it was getting colder out now that the sun had set and night had risen.

"Another drink my lady?" The bartender said taking her now empty glass.

"Hm, no thanks. Not tonight." She said pulling a few dollars from the top (near her breast) of her dress. "That'll be enough for today," she said sliding the money to him.

"Can do." He nodded and smiled, now turning his attention to the man who had just sat down at the bar, "And for you sir?"

Hobbs let out a sigh of relief as he rushed into the bar and placed his back against the door.No self respecting bounty hunter would dare follow an outlaw into a bar. Such an act would be suicide to be sure. Taverns were the haven of lowlife.
He grinned as he stood up and straightened out his captain's jacket, and wiped the sweat from his brow. He pulled out a band and quickly tied back his long raven hair, and sat at the bar, eyes keeping at the door. After a few awkward moments of staring he turned back to the counter. " Barkeep! Most Esteemed Cap'n Hobbs Benedict Crawford and the privateering gentleman of the Clockwork Hydra would like to buy a round for the house!" His grin grew in eager delight. After a successful raid on a trade ship, who wouldn't want to share the joy

The bartender’s eyes lit up as Cap’n Hobbs requested a round for the house, “Yes Cap’n Hobbs sir, Commin’ right up.” He began pouring and distributing drinks to those in the lively tavern, of course delivering Cap’n Hobbs his drink first. The men raised their glasses to him in respect and continued on with their good time.

“Clockwork Hydra?” Rose said softly to herself, questioning. She had never heard of such a vessel, but it could be perhaps that she were such a land lover and barely traveled by water. She looked around the tavern, now realizing that she was only one of three girls in this place, but, she didn’t feel threatened by that.

Her eyes narrowed as an idea struck, whilst tapping her heel against her bar stool, “Excuse me, Mr. Hobbs? What exactly is the Clockwork Hydra?” She said leaning over to him in a nonchalant manner.

Hobbs chuckled merrily as the patrons raised glasses, and the bartenders face lit up with glee. He smiled as he sipped from his glass, letting the crisp taste warm his throat.
At the sound of the tap, Hobbs turned back to see the young woman. Wasn't often they would be at a tavern, let alone with so many scourge and rogues. "Tis Captain Hobbs." He said in playful jest. "Madam, who are claiming you have not heard the tales of the Hydra? Aye, she is a vessel like none other. Finest airship to sail the skies, and fitting for a privateer captain like myself." His words rang out like praise. The Hydra was his pride and joy. "sadly, she is ported and landbound for now." He winked. " Best not the guards hear about her, eh?"

A trail worn man walks in and immediately notices Hobbs. In a hardy voice he exclaims "Crawford you scurvy scallywag! How is the finest pirate to sail the seven skies? I trust you are treating your kite well?"

"Cap'n Hobbs, I see you take great pride in your ship. Tis' an important thing." She nodded her head, seemingly interested in what he had to say; for once, someone had cought her attention. Before she could speak another word it seems as if a man were trying to get his attention. She turned to see the man; who obviously knew Hobbs and seemed to treat him like an old friend.

"Hobbs, your friend here, his name would be?" She leaned toward Hobbs smiling. It was getting later, and most of the men were starting to clear out of the tavern by now, after having their fill of drinks. The clock now read, 11:23 pm. It's getting late, I would assume they have work- what must bring them in at such a time?

"Tis an old friend. Mr Yohn, classiest of the classy postal men". Hobbs chuckled again as he waved to Yohn. He sipped his drink and nodded to himself. He did that often, not really meaning anything, but it made him seem like a deep thinker (which he was not). In truth Hobbs was kinda impulsive and did things for the fun of doing it. That's why he pursued sky pirating, much to the disdain of his father, who was an admiral in the Queen's Navy. " Young lady, pardon me asking of your life, but why are you here so late? Tis a dangerous time for a lass to out and about."

"Hm, Mr. Yohn..." She said in a thoughtful manner looking over to him and then back to Cap'n Hobbs. Her eyes narrowed and she titled her head to the side slightly, "You two seem like good friends, what a great thing that you should happen to meet while you are landbound here, must be fate," her voice was soft.

Rose seemed slightly shocked that he had asked of why she was out so late, let alone at a tavern. "The name is Rose," She said extending out an arm for a handshake, yes, not the typical thing for the lady of her class. "If you must know, I'm a night owl- I don't care too much to see life in such a bright light. Besides, boredom overcomes me, I like to go out and see all types and walks of life if you can understand that." Her smile faded slightly, "Besides, I do believe I can take care of myself. It's not too dangerous out here, it could be alot worse."

He shrugged his shoulders, leaning forward to place a small kiss on her hand " Lady Rose tis a pleasure to be sure" He giggled slightly. Its been so long since he had been formal. After all life in the airship was constant work, and no time for anything formal really. " Yes perhaps tis fate" He nodded to himself before turning towards the door. " i must be off though Lady Rose. A shipment needs to be dropped early, and tis noit suiting for a captain to miss such an appointment. Pleasure meeting you." he kissed her hand again and took a small bow before heading to the tavern door.
" Cest tres magnifique~ Ciao Lady Rose. Farewell Yohn. And all patrons of the tavern. Have a glorious night"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:45 pm

Her eyes widened as he lightly kissed her hand; she was more than shocked that he had done such a formal thing, she didn't expect that at all. "Oh my, you must leave so soon? Well it was a pleasure meeting you as well Cap'n Hobbs. Please, feel free to seek me out if you feel the need or want." She bowed her head in respect as he took a small bow to her before leaving.

Her eyes showed a slight sadness of letting another interesting fellow come and go from her life. The men left in the tavern raised their empty of half empty glass to him and bowed their head- most of them gone from the alcohol circulating through their systems.

It figures, I should've never expected anything. She let out a sigh to herself around, back to facing the bar once again. It's about time I get out of this place, it seems these other men have no interest in me, tis' fine though, the feeling is mutual. She slid off the stool and patted down her red and black victorian-style dressed and soft hands picked up her fan from the bar before heading outdoors. The moon was bright in the sky tonight which was a rarity around these parts due to the poor air quality.

"Ye sly bastards!" Hobbs yelled, ducking behind a barrel. The bounty hunters had been waiting for him the entire time! Hobbs grinned as he pulled his treasured revolver from its holster and let off a few rounds towards the hunters. Sadly, the small amount of rum he had affected his sight and the shot was a tad off.
"Hobbs. Ye poor little rogue. Its off to the slammer with ya. Just surrender and we wont beat you too badly." The head bounty hunter, a tall imposing man in a red duster, pulled a hand cannon from inside his coat. " Ya got til three."
Hobbs face was frozen in terror. Hand cannons had to be custom made! Someone must have put a very large price on his head. He thought for a few moments, running his hand against his silver rapier, The Queen's Guard. A head on attack would be suicide. But hiding wouldnt help either. That hand cannon could tear a hold in the side of a ship, and here he was ducking behind a barrel. " Lady luck, leave me not now." he said to himself

"Fear not! Lady luck always be on yer side, and mine as well!" Strifer exclaimed as he pulled out his custom made musket pistol, Betsy, and fired three shots at the bounty hunters. His shots hadn't been affected by any rum at all and were sent perfectly at their target. One hit the hand cannon out of the lead hunter's hand, sending it with a small thump to the ground. The other hit two other men in their shooting arm forcing them to drop their weapons as well. Strifer let out a wild smiled as he lept down from the top of the bar. He hit the ground with a roll, and ended up behind a barrel of liquor that was a few feet away from Hobbs' position.

"Lady luck, you are a fickle mistress!" Hobbs exclaimed as he peered over at the hunters. As things were they were all but in capable of returning fire. Hobbs shot from his barrel down a nearby ally that led to the dock. His ship was there, so he could hide for the night. " You coming?" he asked Strifer before rushing down, weaving around barrels and passed out drunks.
