Most days I'm just a straightforward atheist, but on some day I get super philosophical with a friend or two and we start discussing beliefs. Right now what I'm toying with the idea that the universe is pretty much "god" but may or may not be aware, and we pretty much exist within it.
Then you've got that one thing where we exist in the mind/dreams of some greater being and whatnot.
So yeah. Post your beliefs about life & stuff. I'm actually fairly interested in this stuff.
also I swear to God if anyone tries converting people I will ban them.

Aren't jesus & god supposed to be different? idk.
but yeah i get what you mean. loads of people get caught up in the whole history and rules of religion, which is probably why so many people claim to dislike hardcore christians.

I think some religions see God and Jesus as the same being, or like, Jesus is a part of God that he could send down, or something to that extent.
I grew up going to a Christian church with my sister, and due to all the hypocrisy at that specific church and what they taught, I left around 12 or so.
I tend to believe everything is connected somehow, and think of the Universe as some sort of group of a bunch of cats who work together to keep things going. I don't really get into the details or specifics, but if things go really well I like to take a moment to thank the Universe. Mostly live my life based on Karma and good energy. Strong believer in everything happens for a reason.

I think Christianity refers to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as the same being. Which always confused the ******** tits off me.
I believe in Karma and reincarnation, but I don't strictly believe in a religion, I like the idea of Buddhism as I've always translated it to something I can understand, which is pretty much "Don't be a d**k. And all is well"
I think on a Philosophical level, life is a lot more bland than we'd all like it to be - Perhaps there is some "Higher being" but chances are, they're merely another life form that merely created us. Give it a 1000 years and we may be doing the same. I just find it hard to believe that ONE religion can be right. Out of all the planets in the Universe, why would our religions be right? I really do think we need to drop our religion before we really take to the space race - Imagine finding other Alien races who are like "We believe in the great Garzoozoo" Or some s**t And we go "BUT WHAT ABOUT JESUS AND GOD N' STUFF" And we'd be in the same situation we're in on this planet, but with people with bigger, nastier weapons.

I'm what some people might call a Spiritual Agnostic, though I like don't getting into labels. I used to go to church alot growing up, but just kind of fell out of it. I'm pretty much into Karma like Biohazard and Duran here.
That being said, I don't believe in the christian faith. And I found a very good explination as to why...found this on urban dictionary, but it's basically the same reason I'm against any of the christian faith.Quote: A cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father that can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master so that he can remove an evil force in your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree Edit: If this quotes offends anyone, I apologize.

Karma is a tricky thing for me.
I think I'm too self-aware. On the one hand I'm a massive d**k, so I should be building up all sorts of bad karma for the inconsiderate things I do. On the other[subconcious]hand I'm actually more of a giver and I'm actually fairly considerate.
Not sure if karma should work on our intentions or our actual actions.
@Capn haha yeah. We might just exist in a huge computer oh dear gawd. Buuut I think deep deep down I'm just an nihilistic athiest. I like to toy with philosophical ideas though. Gives me something to think about xD
Which is, I guess, what religion is to some people. Gives them something to believe in, think, live, and fight about.
@Bio Hmm. Everything happens for a reason is a nice concept.
But it really irks me when people say "There must have been a reason [shite thing] happened to me cause everything happens for a reason"
Especially when it's clearly their own fault through inattention, especially to other people.
I find it's mostly just people running away from their own guilt.

Ogod D8 Philosophical ideas keep me awake at night - I had to drop my Philosophy class because I couldn't sleep at night, merely because I was so worried about the fate of the world and If I was real. Ya know? >>; Any form of religion to me, is merely reassurance - I'm a bit of a d**k in religious terms, I don't believe, but if some heavenly force came, I'd be like "YO. I KNEW IT ALL ALONG"

Oh yeah, if it's your own fault, then you can't say that s**t. xD
But I think everything that happens to me happens for a reason, even if it's s**t. Everything is a learning experience.
And some of my doings happen to show me I need to stop being a ******** ********>

Though I'm mostly Catholic I do have a lot of Christian beliefs and ideals. So I guess you can say I'm half Catholic and half Christian.

@Bio lmao yeahh xDD
There's a difference between stuff happening to you and stuff that you kinda cause yourself. I hate it when people are like "omg i ttly just lost half my friends but there must be a reason they haven't made it this far into my life."
Haha. Some things are just like "wow that totally sucked, but I just learned a life lesson"
@Capn I totally know what you mean xDD Especially when you get into the whole nihilism thing without fully appreciating it, then you just stay awake for days just cause you can't get over your own insignificance xD
then you start pondering the state of the universe and how it all began and eventually all you want is to get shitfaced just so you'll stop thinking. but by then you're already in bed and you can't be ******** to do jack s**t except lie there and think some more. yeahh xDD
lmao. i think i'd be with you there. like "o hey god yeah I was kind of a skeptic but deep down i knew you were there."

I don't know about the rest of the universe, but the Fates sure do stick around me. I'm fairly sure there's powers apart from them, but I don't know about them. The only things I'm sure of are the Fates.
What do I mean by Fates? I mean straight up three women, one eye, sticking their hand in my tarot deck and making me notice things they want me to notice.
(stick their hand in my tarot sounds dirrrrrty)

You ever start wondering "I wonder if I'm the only one that thinks these thoughts?" and you tell yourself no way. cause there have been so many people that someone must have thought the same thought, and then you just end up feeling thoroughly violated?
Sometimes I just think the whole dejavu thing happens cause really we're all one giant consciousness existing at the same time. Cause if you think about it, time is a constraint that shouldn't have an effect on your "soul" or consciousness or w.e
You ever watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya? That anime will ******** you up if you think too hard about it.

In all honesty I believe/follow many different paths because everyone has their own good and bad qualities Most days I don't practice any religion because in all honesty I don't feel I need to be a part of something to communicate with "God" When I can just as easily do it myself
Emo: I find myself asking if I am the only one who thinks this way
