Hey everyone!
I was wondering what Final Fantasy games for the DS are out there, and what you'd recommend and why! I'm looking to get one for a friend for Christmas... She already has FF3 and Chocobo Tales. She thought FF3 was awesome, but her 1 complaint was that the random battles were too frequent that she couldn't quite travel in the sea without being annoyed.
Everyone who recommends me a game for DS and at least 1 reason will get 1000 gold! 3nodding

FFIV is awesome. One of the best stories for Final Fantasy. but it's got a similar random battle system.
FF Tactics A2 is a lot of fun. They polished up the FFTA nicely. Still not as good as the original, but worth playing. Also, it's a strategy game, don't know how your friend would feel about that.

I haven't played A2 but it looks like fun. You can't go wrong with FFIV either. =] If your friends into classics I'm sure you could probably get I and II for a good bargain too. The games are pretty much exactly the same as the originals if I remember right. Same battle system, same story, same graphics, same everything.

Thanks for the recommendations you two!
I'm still looking for more even though Christmas is over. I have yet to purchase any game. >_>;

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.
It introduces a new storyline and atwo whole new races of Ivalice, though one's a subspecies...hmm...
Anyways, it has a great battle system that's half tactics. It has a new summoning system in it and as a summoner a good system is always a plus. Also, it has the most summons out of any Final Fantasy game ever at around 45. The characters get a bit more fleshed out and the new ones are pretty good.
It's not ridiculously hard and it's not too simple. Very good mix.

How can you forget about that game? Like, really?
Sadly I had to erase my game because I accidentally overwrote someone else's lvl 99 game on Rune Factor. I never cried so much as I did after hitting that button.
