Sunset Dust yawned as she kicked out one of her legs, stretching away a think blanket of sleepiness. She rolled away from her small bed she'd decided on; a little hole between two mushrooms, hidden by those very fungi. She hummed as she moved through soft grasses, large ears almost constantly twitching as she listened for both friend and foe, though most sound was drowned out by the large, rushing, bubbling sound of the river.

Her bright, strange eyes drank in the sight of the rushing, white froth and her tail gave a flick. She positively beamed as she picked up her pace. "Ri~ver, ri~ver little giant ri~ver.."

From the darkest parts of the forest he did creep, paws moving steadily of the earth with two bright blue eyes keeping track of all that passed before them. For the things that went unseen, his ears swiveled like radars and kept him aware of just about everything.

He too approached the sounds of the river, lured by its tale of bright and flashing lights just as he was lured away from his children and 'mate'. They...met, briefly and were already parenting three babies. The mistling was hardly ready for a relationship at the time, thus his situation now seemed...almost impossible. There was instinct within him however, and it pushed him to stick around and urged him to aid in his children’s lives. Even if he and Creampaw would not make it, Rustywing felt inclined to make sure those pups did.

He paused momentarily to catch his breath, flexing his toes in the soil and glancing up toward the mushroom canopy. This part of Midland was always his favorite; dark, quiet, magical...Rusty, being the depressed little thing he was, favored loneliness over company.

For how hard he tried to keep note of all sounds and creatures around, one mistling could not control even the patterns the wind decided to blow. Being upwind and hardly realizing it, Rusty approached the female at a quickening pace.

"Oh what a little wonder.." she continued to sing her little made up song, the lyrics not anything amazing but the melody was soothing enough. Though she was trying to be alert it was more often that she became oblivious to everything around her, not really picking up on any changes in sound or scent around.

But as she paused to look at a curious mushroom stem- the cap had grown much too large and half of it had broken off. Maybe a flier had crashed into it? She couldn't come to a conclusion, but as she stood with her hind paws on the ground and her front paws against the remaining stem so she could look at the broken bits she did catch the scent of another coming from behind.

Her humming died off as she glanced in the direction, head tilted as she slipped around the stem in a low crouch, hidden. She wasn't frightened though, a sneaky little smile was plastered on her cheeks as she waited. It was mot certainly another mistling, and she couldn't help her mischievous side in wanting to jump out and scare him or her.

So when she caught sight of the darker mistling she started to giggle, though she placed both paws over her mouth to stop the noise. She waited until he was closer, closer-

"BOO!" She shouted as she jumped out, though she had waited much too long and realized she was about to crash right into him- this could turn sour.
