It had been a long four years. Though it may have been difficult at times, college had been a great experience. I met lots of great people, learned a ton of information, and achieved a point of drunkenness where I was so hammered I passed out on the bathroom floor. It was a great time, but all good things must come to an end...

After graduating, I decided to take a trip to Japan to reward myself for a job well done. Of course, college hadn't been the easiest of times, and I was looking forward to a little vacation. And what better to vacation than to immerse myself totally in a foreign culture (besides the huge amounts of anime that I watch). So I headed for Tokyo, where I would soon discover my great love of real ramen noodles and amazement with the culture of the Japanese people.

After spending a week in Tokyo surrounded by bright lights and people everywhere, it was time for a trip to Kyoto. I had always been in awe of the stories of the geisha, and since I was a small girl, I've always wanted to visit a Japanese tea house. So, I took a train to Kyoto and found my way to the Gion. Though the geisha tradition isn't as popular as it used to be, there are still plenty of geisha houses in Gion. The one I had decided on (always research before you go!) was one of the oldest in the district.

As I entered the house, I took everything in. From the simplicity of the design, to the exotic smells, this was a place I had wanted to visit my whole life. And now, I was actually experiencing it. I had tea and some light dinner served to me, and then the geisha would perform. One sat down to play the shamisen, while the other danced to the beautiful music. I was almost entranced in the performance, when I noticed a strange-looking aura hovering in the room, over one of the geisha's head.

No one else seemed to notice the strange aura, but I was transfixed by it's beauty. It's colors swirled and it almost looked like an odd green fire. I looked down at my tea, as as I was looking up again, I heard a blood-curtling scream.

It was the dancing geisha. She had been beheaded, and her lifeless body fell to the floor with a thud. The blood just poured from her neck, and I watched in horror as the green aura bore down upon the body, eating it from head to toe. It was terrible. But I couldn't do anything. I just sat there and watched the gruesome sight. As the aura finished up with the body, it came and hovered in front of me. I wanted to run, but I couldn't. I was frozen where I was.

And then, in my mind, a picture appeared. It was a picture of the aura, and then another picture flashed into my mind. It was a flower. A white lily. A flower of peace. The aura hovered in front of me, and circled around my head. It seemed more curious about me than angry, and it hummed (almost happily) as I greeted the strange creature.

"Hello. What...are you?"

In my head, I pictured a geisha. She was crying. Another picture: a puddle of blood. Something horrible must have happened to this spirit. It seemed to want some sort of revenge.

I stood up slowly and turned toward the door. The aura followed me. I left the tea house, just as an older geisha came to the door of the room with the last remains of the dead girl. I heard a scream as I walked out into the grey, gloomy night.

The aura kept following. And it would keep following me, all the way back to the U.S. It seemed as if this spirit had decided that I was it's proper guardian. And as long as she didn't eat me, I was okay with that. I would have to lay down the law...

Koniro's first stage, the aura. In this stage, the windigo is a floating aura. Material objects pass right through it, but magical items do not (and may harm it if they are dangerous). To communicate, it may make humming noises Most of the time they hum when they are mad. They can communicate telepathically with short phrases (which are more difficult for them) or a series of images (which they prefer). They do not have a specific personality, just a vague feeling of emotions that their previous host had.
User Image
The host stage. In this stage, when they find the right host, a windigo will bring home a human or humanoid creature. Their aura is stretched around the host, giving them a faint glow. The humanoid has a personality of its own, and sometimes is aware that there is something trying to change it. Each host's reaction to the aura is different.
User Image
The boxed stage. At this point, the windigo has found its host, and has lured it into a box, where it will change its host to become the perfect vessel for the windigo. Koniro lured Ayumi into her box fairly easily, after tempting her to become a geisha.
User Image
Finally, the Windigo stage of the transformation. At this point, the windigo and it's host emerge from the box, transformed. The windigo has used the host's body to reclaim a place where they can move about physically and speak. This is usually the final stage of the process, but it's been heard that a windigo can evolve further...

This is Sizzla. She is Koniro's guardian, and the one who was chosen to take care of this Windigo. She's a caring woman, who likes to adopt children and creatures who have lost their way, or who are living on the streets. Koniro is a new kind of creature for Sizzla, as she has never adopted an evil being. These days, Sizzla has become used to Koniro's creepy presence, and she's even helping her to secure her host...Though Sizzla is reluctant, Koniro is charming and knows all of Sizzla's weaknesses. She realizes that Sizzla is kind of a pushover, and she's taking advantage of this...to the extreme.

Amora is an angel that Sizzla has become guardian to. This angel loves her music (and stereo headphones) and flying through the air at top speed. So far, these two get along, but seeing as how Amora is very good, and Koniro is quite evil, we'll just have to see who whips who into shape.

Lilith is Amora's new baby sister. Sizzla has adopted her from the Serafina Care Center. Lilith was once named Nemesis, and this little angel is about to live up to her original name...She's a Demonia in disguise...And her current favorite pasttimes are pulling people's hair and screaming all night long, keeping everyone awake.

Naida has yet to come out of her inkwell, but she's an Anhoki, a creature made from enchanted ink. Sizzla found Naida on vacation, when the goddess herself came from the sky and handed the inkwell to her. Soon, she will emerge, and who knows what this water baby will look like!

Chroma is a Nymphae faekat who loves bright colors and looking at herself in the mirror. She's a little vain, but kind nonetheless.

Luna is Chroma's Faekat sister in a way. Though she's a Majerae, these two do get along, though Luna is a bit quieter than her rambunctious sister.

Sizzla went to visit a friend in the mountains, and came across this wonderful little boy. She named him Antares, and decided to take him home to live with her family. He has finally grown into a handsome little boy.

This is Koniro's new pet, a Kittybomb named Yumi. I told her that if she ate Yumi, she'd explode in her mouth. I think that's enough of a threat to keep her from eating this cute little kitten.

So I recently went on a shopping spree for when Koniro, trying to bring a little of Japan to the U.S. for her. I really want her to feel at home here, and I think some of these things may help. I've also gotten her some new kimono that she can wear once she takes a body. I'm really excited to see what she'll look like. So, here are my gifts for Koniro:

Here are Koniro's new kimono. I hope they are to her liking:

I also decided that she should become involved in some of the geisha arts she once practiced. So, I also found this lovely shamisen for her to play once she gets a human form.

Introduction
So, I've decided to start a journal to record all of the things that happen to my Windigo Koniro and I. I think a journal of this sort will be beneficial to those who come after me. It may give others a better understanding of this creature, its hopes, angers and motivations. So, here goes...Welcome to the Windigo journal of Koniro.

Note: From now on, my entries will be done in indigo.
Koniro's entries will be in green.
Koniro's host will be writing in blue.

Rules
1. Only post here if you have permission from Sizzla. Clockworklunacy and other Windigo owners DO have permission. If you'd like to post here, please PM me and ask first.
2. Please be polite. Rude people aren't cool, and I always appreciate those with good manners.
3. I really don't care much about keeping it PG-13, but those are Gaia rules. I won't tell on you if you slip in a word here and there though. Hey, I'm already talking beheading and blood, so I can't expect everything to be PG-13.
4. Please avoid too much "netspeak", and always make sure to spellcheck. As an editor, I like to see proper grammar and spelling. I insist on doing it myself, so you can too.

Updates
10.16: Updated banners and started journal
10.17: First visit to the lair. First journal entry. Rules updated. Introduction.
11.13: Koniro decides on her host, Ayumi.
12.01: First journal entry of their meeting.
