Mei The Maid

PostPosted: Sat Dec 12, 2009 2:46 pm

The sun was high and the grass were greener than ever, the day began cloudy but in the middle of the morning some god probably decided to sweep them away, letting a beautiful and perfect day come along.

There was a whole universe above the Black&White manor to be explored.
And there was Mei.
The Little maid.
Cleaning.

The Manor was big and not even the always-working maid could know about every single room in that place.

The Fun fact about leaving in a huge house and having just one person to clean it all is that the dust becomes part of the decoration so you can never know whether you are cleaning or putting away the decoration.

But don’t get things the wrong away, the manor was very clean…in convenient rooms. But today was an special day, she was waiting for someone to visit.

At least she hoped so.

Zho blustered through the doorway of the mansion, his backpack hanging loosely on his shoulders, the verseckt jangling in the pouch, he spun around quickly in the large, open reception. It was -huge-. He looked around for the charmingly clumsy maid he had seen earlier. He couldn't stop thinking about the strange box she gave him, it had played on his mind for the whole trip home and the whole night. Dreaming about it. Waking up thinking about it. It was intense.

"Hello?" He called out, snatching the box out of his bag, along with the doll.

” Hm, who is it?” Asked the blond girl coming from one of the doors, she was holding a tray with cups. ” You came!” She smiled and went to great him.

But she stumbled.

A rain of beautiful white cups fell from her very hands but on the floor she quickly managed to target and lock the failing down. Before they could notice all the cups were already at her tray again.

She blushed and giggled. “ I didn’t introduce myself yesterday, I’m Mei and I’m glad you came” She said smiling.

Zho smiled when he saw Mei, He was afraid that the whole thing was a big hoax and that he'd been tricked into coming to some creepy mansion, he didn't want the whole box to be a lie.

He ran out a few paces to try and help catch the tray and teacups when she dropped them, but was surprised to see her expertly catch them on the tray. This was getting wierder and wierder

"I'm glad I came too." He said, mustering a smile as he toyed with the piano-painted box.

Mei took them to the living room, it was a big and decorated with Victorian furniture, just like the whole house. There were big red sofas with a dark-wood center table. There were paintings in the wall and heavy curtains, hopefully they didn’t have the same end as the theater’s ones.

” Please, sit and make yourself at home. Can I provide you something? Tea? Coffe? Oh, and I hope you are not afraid of monsters or devils so we won’t be able to go ahead with the box today. “ She made a pause and giggled, blushing a little and covering her mouth. ” It’s a joke.” She smiled. ” I need to put this tray in the kitchen, I will be back soon “ She smiled and bowed, then, headed to the kitchen.

Zho sat down on one of the exceedingly comfortable couches that sat in the room, he let out a little sigh of relief since he had been standing on his feet all day. The relief drained out of him as Mei asked about demons and monsters. He let outa terrified little squeak when she said it, quickly collapsing back into relief when she started to laugh. Hoping she was being sincere.

As she left for the kitchen Zho looked over the box again, running a finger over the fine artwork.

User ImageMei went to the kitchen, it was not far from the living room, actually, it was really near. Zho could her hear steps going away and the growing silence in the place, until a big sound of something crashing echoated the place. “ I-I’m fine! “ She said from the kitchen.

A sound of small glass pieces being swept came along and then another silence. The sound of steps coming closer and then Mei appeared from the door. “ S-sorry I took to long, I had a small problem there. “ She smiled uneasily and blushed. “ She headed to the armchair in front of the sofá Zho was sitting but in the way she found a crack in the floor and stumbled. Skillfully she was able to fall perfectly sitting on the armchair.

” Sh-shall we star? “ She blushed and unfolded her apron.

Zho nodded quickly, anxiously.

“ Okay so, try to clean your mind and pay attention only in me , we shall travel now. “ And been said that, the entire room began to vanish. Some furniture just vanished some were transforming on other objects. Paintings become walls, table become floor and before Zho could tell, they were both on a great avenue. The city was all grey… was it London? The rain was pouring but it didn’t seem to wet them.

Zho's head lulled back as the scenery began to change, his eyes rolling back in his head as a strange feeling overcame him, the feeling of movement, but not moving an inch. When he had regained his composure he was surrounded by greyness and rain, rain that did not seem to touch him.

"Wh-Where are we?" He stammered, looking around the bleak streets.

“ Don’t pay attention to the place, but to that” Mei said smiling and pointing to a young boy running in the rain, he was going as faster as he could, his little body was shacking from the cold and the heavy rain falling on him seemed to have no pity. He found an open door and went inside, careless if it was a shop or a home.

Fortunately or not, it was a musical instruments shop.

“ Shall we go inside as well? “ Mei said gesturing to the shop.

Zho watched the young boy interestedly, he had that charming ramshackle look to him, something you'd expect to see in a disney movie, but this was real life.. So it was much more sad.

The boy swerved into the shop and Zho automatically followed, accidentally ignoring Mei's question.

Mei followed Zho inside the store.

The young boy stayed on a corner, He didn’t even notice the puddle that was forming around him. He was there, static, looking, when he saw that. It was beautiful. The light struck the ebony surface with a sheen that took his breath away, the delicate ivory keys twinkled as well, almost calling to him, screaming for him, he couldn't resist the call even if he tried. It was a piano, a grand piano placed in the very center of the store. It’s upper compartment was open, making it look even more beautiful.

He slowly approached it, he was to fascinated to notice the shop’s owner looking at him. He put his hand on the keys; the weakness wasn’t enough to stop him. When he pressed a single one he knew that.

He was in love.

Zho smiled at the young boy when he noticed the piano, he could tell that the piano had become his new obsession. He watched carefully as he padded sloppily over to the piano, touching the keys with complete admiration and infatuation.

It sort of reminded Zho of the first time -he- saw a piano, but he was no where near as in love with it as the young boy was. His smile grew wider as he noticed the shop-owner staring at the boy with acceptance and kindness.

He turned to Mei. "I think he likes it."

Mei was silently, she would answer Zho only with smiles.

The shop owner approached the boy. “Beautiful, isn’t it? “ he said with a kind smile.

The boy couldn’t help but smile back and nod.

“ Perhaps I could suggest you a tutor?”

The boy bowed his head in sadness and said on a quite ton: “ I don’t have a piano to practice, nor money to pay for a tutor.”

“ So why not to play here? On this very one? If you are very good people will come to see you and the sales of the shop will raise.”

The eyes of the young boy were shining with happiness.
