the chipmunks were named after named after the executives of their original record label, Liberty Records: alvin was Alvin Bennett (the president), simon was Simon Waronker (the founder and owner), and theodore was Theodore Keep (the chief engineer).

they are named the record company ,alvin "alvin bennet" thedore "ted keith" simon "simon warenker"
