I came across this thread this morning and added my 2 cents. Actually, *any* house updates would be an improvement, but Holiday items would be super. Anyone know if there is already an existing poll / petition?

I'd like any kind of update, not only for Christmas crying
Back when they did the whole Egypt theme for clothes and homes, that's the last update I can remember. My home still looks almost the same as 2 years ago, that's just boring.

I decorated my home for awhile, then realized that new items are few and far between and stopped

Yeah, it gets kind of obvious what their priorities are when you can buy a tree to follow your avi around from the CS, but there's no tree for your house (*no tree for you! >< *)
Hmm...a fireplace...now why didn't I think of that? Still, it will be really pathetic if they only update the furniture for xmas, since the last time I used my house was when I gave up on it altogether and went in to rip everything out.

I think giving the housing chick her own shop was their way of telling us they're probably never going to pay that feature much attention again, unless of course they find some way to make it a Cash crop like aquariums and cars. stare

I would absolutely LOVE to see a housing update.
Housing and towns in generally need some work put into them.
However, I've heard from many different places that the reason houses have had nothing done with them for so long is because the person who worked on houses left gaia for whatever reason. And apparently, they were the ONLY person who knew the codes and stuff for the houses. So houses have been at a complete stand still because no one else in the entirety of gaia knows how to do anything with them. rolleyes
Just what I've heard..
Either way, I would really like to see new items for the houses some time soon.
And perhaps some kind of special use for them? I don't know, but I think houses have a lot of potential to be something fun to mess around with but they're just so ignored.
Oh, also I'd love to be able to put stuff in my yard around my house too. Don't we have a little mini trampoline and a little kiddie pool for houses? Those should be able to go in the yard, not inside the house.
Edit: Oh and yes, I would love holiday stuff for my house too! It'd be neat to be able to put up an Xmas tree and hang stockings.. or put jack o lanterns up or stick Easter baskets in there. (:

Totally agree! Either "yard" or a "patio" would be fun. biggrin And yes, they do have potential!
And, what you heard about the folks who worked on houses is exactly what I had heard about Towns.....no one around that knows enough to be of much use.

And furniture we can actually sit our pixel asses on, with out having to use the positioning trick for beds and things where you can inch in one specific spot to sit on the foot of it.
And do you remember when they promised interactive drawers for dressers?
And what about those big tall shelves that we can't put s**t on? D<

due to cyberers,i stopped paying attention to houses,but a house updates would be awsome.
this reminds me of this petition back in '07 that talked about making a gaia city. even though that petition is long gone, it got me wondering that there should be gaia apartments or an improved version of gaia towns.
gaia may listen to your idea,but be careful...
they'll probably make housing updates availible in gaia cash
