Appearance Description
Rie is lanky and thin. She disguises this physique by clothing, usually wearing a shortened black kimono with the usual long sleeves to cover all of her arms. Her normal obi doubles as utility belt. Under the kimono, she wears shorts and net leggings.
Her complexion is fair, from being too much indoors and in the shade. The Hihouno clan looks different from the usual darker people of Kumogakure, probably because of their medicine. Rie's face is small and unremarkable, not traditionally beautiful, and it is obvious that her little sis is prettier.
Personality
Highly protective of her little sister. Polite yet frank. Strives for excellence, and has a desire for her and her sister to belong in Kumo society.
History
Rie has been aware that her family are poison-makers, and has been in training from the age of four. She is also aware of the stigma of her family, having little to no playmates because of their reputation. It thankfully had a positive effect on her, and drove her to do her best in the academy, graduating among the top of the class, and being relatively popular with peers. She does not share the family methods with her sister or anyone else.

Iyashi no Hihouno/Craft Hihouno poison
Level: Limited to the main Hihouno bloodline.
Type: Ninjutsu
Hihouno poison craft is a a method of using ninjutsu and the corresponding herbs to make a powdery poison. Ingredients needed are the corresponding herbs as well as chakra-containing Hihouno blood, which acts as catalyst in the combination of ingredients.
Taijutsu
Averagely knowledgeable in techniques of the ninja-to, as Kumo-nins' preferred weapon, uses needles as her primary weapons. Her less than average strength and stamina does not allow her to fight extensively in meelee, and is best suited for ranged fighting.
Genjutsu
Chakra Control
Rie has mastered chakra manipulation early on during her academy days and at home. It is only a short time before she will be able to progress her weak needle jutsu to more advanced forms.
Kekkei Genkai (Clan Specialty)
Kekkai Genkai: Poison creation. Hihouno blood contains enzymes and damaged chakra that can speed up mixing herbs and creating compounds. This information is only passed on to the firstborn of the family. This anesthesia is quick to affect Hihouno family members. (For both siblings the effect is instant, the duration is two posts.)

Himiko can be seen as a definitely cuter chibi version of her older sister, and part of the reason why she seems prettier is because she actually looks healthier.
Personality
Idolizes her big sister, and lives to please her. Easily excitable, has less tact, and borders on having attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder.
History
Eleven years have been kind to the child, with much of her big sister's intervention. Knows little of her family name's stigma. She is about to graduate the Academy under certain special agreements--that she switch from Kumo Academy to the Shokaku School.*

Drafts. A short history lesson.
Hihouno of Kumogakure
With the fitting ecosystem of the land of the lightning, the Hihouno clan had created a niche for themselves in being ninja specializing in the creation of drugs. The highlands of Kumogakure is lush with many endemic species, as the high altitude, climate, and even lightning grow plants that are low in oxigenation. Although it has not yet been proven in the general academe, particularly that of Kumogakure itself, the Hihouno clan had theorized that flora, common or endemic, when treated in a particular way involving lighting, would create more potent drugs. On whom else would they test it out but on themselves?
Most of the initial forms of catalysts they created turned out to be ineffective, poisonous, or addictive, and yet they continued research on this fringe science, as they were convinced that they had some breakthroughs (healing fatal illnesses) despite lack of evidence. It is only in the later (admittedly heavily drugged) generations that they were able to distinguish the things that worked from the things that did not. Even so, it was already too late to save the family from the stigma of being mere druggies; despite few of them being decent medical-nin, they are shunned by patients. It did not help that some actually did turn to push their catalysts on the street, mostly as depressant drugs. Although not exclusively to it, Hihouno specializes in antidote-making, against poisons, natural and synthetic, and physical illnesses. Their clan specialty lies in tailoring their medicine through the methods used, a vital part of which is the patient's blood and Hihouno chakra. Also, because of having a heavily drugged bloodline(so to speak), Hihouno exhibit resistance to usual medications, and must usually have a higher dose.
Current Hihouno Heir: Rie
Rie's special catalysts (though not the clan's secret) are self-made under the guidance of her father. They are dosed particularly for her body. If it was in real life, the adrenaline catalyst would simply be known a caffeine-cocaine mix, and the numbing catalyst as opium. In this light, the stimulant catalyst only acts on the adrenals and the heart to produce and circulate plain adrenaline. The numbing catalyst on the other hand is a depressant, and thus negatively affects precision in movements.
These are merely simple drugs, organic, and not yet imbued with chakra. Therefore, they do not change (they do not increase) chakra. The growing and treatment process of the raw plant materials as well as ninjutsu-type preparation, and chakra implanting is a complicated process that she is has yet to completely study and master. As she progresses from genin it is possible for her to finally learn the ability to infuse it with chakra that will enhance effects to her beyond that of a normal human, that is, if she chooses to do so.Quote:

This older sibling has grown up acutely aware of the unpopularity of their family's alternative medical methods. Whenever her playmates got scraped or scratched, they always refused to get treated by her parents. It stuck, and had a positive effect as it made her want to excel in the academy and study the normal methods of medicine. Graduated above average in the class. Being the eldest child though, the clan's methods still has to be passed down to her and only her. To date, she does not practice Hihouno medicine apart from her training with her father. Does not plan to teach clan specialty to sister.

Kekkei Genkai (Clan Specialty)
Clan specialty: Catalyst creation. Hihouno has the reputation of being drug manufacturers instead of being a clan of medical-nin. They use methods like acupuncture and more exotic herbal medications which they call catalysts. Catalysts can range from vitamins to medications to poison and antidotes. There is a knowledge on how to imbue medicines with chakra, and this information is only passed on to the firstborn of the family. This is not a bloodline limit.

Rie currently has two types of Hihouno catalysts, both specific to her body. One is a pain suppressant, in white powdery form. The other increases adrenaline in the blood, in pill form. Although Hihouno catalysts may be imbued with chakra upon creation, these pills do not contain chakra.
In play, when Rie takes one pill of either of these two, effects will occur in her next post. As these are tailored to her, effects to others will be less drastic; those with faster metabolism will be more likely to be affected.

Then thats a problem to me, its a nonsensical title. I'm a twin and this kinda stuff is more than a little annoying to some of us. This is a personal observation.
And the clan specialty seems like something any medical nin can do, if its different can you give a little more detail how it is different.

I don't see how it's nonsensical. Nicknames can be titles, and two sisters who are always around one another could be called twins if they act or look alike.
You don't have to take it in the literal sense. A matching pair of objects can be called "twins", or even complimenting ideas or personalities, even if they differ.

I shall remove it then. It was merely another way to stress how they looked alike.
Hm. The family is basically a medical-nin family who simply specializes in drug manufacturing ehem, creating medicines (which they fancily call catalysts). Think elite med techs I guess. The only difference of between them and other medical nins is that they don't use the "usual methods" and they use weird ingredients.

Er, unfortunately I cannot explain the 'catalyst making' process at this time. I did not intend it to be part of the characters' extensive roleplay scenes as it is a backstory. Rest assured that all catalysts that have chakra put into them will be up for approval like jutsu. All catalysts that the characters will use will be posted beforehand. It's not random like Tenten's scroll, if that makes sense.
Also, I honestly do not know everything that constitutes as a "normal" medical ingredient or method in the Narutoverse, despite my efforts to research. In real life, acupuncture and herbal remedies is seen as alternative medicine, but in the Narutoverse, I haven't found a comprehensive list of known types of medicine synthesized, or even if it is similar to the real world's.
I simply created the Hihouno clan having this "alternative" medicine inclination to serve the purpose of giving a dilemma to Rie. That's why it's vague.

It would probably help a bit if you thought at least a little bit on what it is the Hihouno clan do with these medicines, Santi-chan. For example, is it similar to the Akimichi's special food pills that bolster physical ability? Do they use hallucinatory drugs to stimulate a sense of calm to facilitate chakra control?
Even if you won't be using it outside of the Shokaku setting I'm sure it'd help your roleplaying if you had a more extensive background for her clan planned out!

rofl I purposely heavily edited this profile to be short and brief and sweet. I have always had the bad habit of writing too much back story, too much that by the time someone read it, I wouldn't lost interest in the roleplay and had wandered off... So I said, well, I'll chuck it in the roleplay instead of writing it down like a eulogy. Rest assured again that their backstory do not change. I was debating on putting it up, as some players sometimes can't separate the fact that what they know, their characters do not necessarily know. Also makes for an interesting read, like the other characters get to know the sisters as they interact with each other, not because of the players' omniscience. But yea, I did anticipate the request for more info. Lemme add to post #4 the longer version of their personality profiles, as well as the Hihouno clan. Also, if it helps, you can read them here.
