A memory sphere hangs in this room. Memories from a time long ago, before Weapon, before the heavy Hojo experimentation, back when Angeal, Genesis, Sephiroth, and Robyn where just beginning their training in the brand new Shinra SOLDIER program. They were of the first handful of brave souls who decided to fight for the growing Electric Company.
The memory begins on a slightly cloudy day, as the smog had not yet began to envelop the city of Midgar yet.

A group of newly uniformed trainees were standing in front of the Shinra Headquarters, murmuring amongst themselves about what they were about to encounter inside.
One lone young woman stood away from the crowd of young men, leaning against the building with her arms crossed.
She looked down at herself, disgusted with the different uniform she had. Apparently they didn't have the 'size' she needed. She knew different, and she had heard the President of this corporation had a roving eye when it came to women.
She looked at the skinny young men and chuckled, shaking her head.

Tell me what you cherish most...
Sephiroth opened his eyes and stood up straight, taking his weight off of the wall he'd been leaning on.
He looked around at the other newbies milling around the small square inside the Shinra building.
None of them looked very spectacular. They were all just kids really, tugging at their uniforms nervously.
Sighing he sat down on the ground and leaned his head against the wall again, closing his eyes.
He just hoped orientation would be over soon, he wanted to start his training already.
Sighing again he peeked out of one eye, looking at a couple of the girls.
"At least there's a couple cute ones here." He mumbled to himself.

Finally, a dark haired man walked from the elevators to greet the newcomers. "My name is Reeve Tuesti, and I welcome you to the Shinra SOLDIER program. You young men and women have been chosen to participate in the program because you have proven yourselves in combat tests we held around the planet. You all have different backgrounds, and you all have different levels of combat skills. We here at Shinra seek to hone those skills. Not all of you will make it to be SOLDIER 1st Class. But we do hope that you strive and push yourselves to do so." Reeve bowed and raised his hands. "Now that you are all in uniform, I would like for you to follow me so that we can officially start orientation and classes today."

"Finally," Robyn thought to herself, and pushed off the wall to follow Reeve into the HQ. "Let's get this thing started and finished." They were led to a large auditorium with an enormous projection screen at the front of the room.
Robyn picked a seat near the back of the room and kicked her feet up on the chair in front of her. "Blah blah blah, lets get to techniques and maneuvers, not boring 'we're so excited' speeches."

Sephiroth shook his head as he entered the large room. He took a seat in the very back row, so he wasn't caught up in the crowd when they had to leave again.
Slumping down in the chair he noticed he had sat behind one of the girls he'd seen earlier.
He leaned so he could see around her, getting a short glimpse down her top.
Smiling he leaned forward and tapped her shoulder, whispering softly. "You know that uniform's a little small for you."

Hearing the voice behind her, she shook her head without even turning to look. "And your mouth is too big for your face." She said quite loud.
She crossed her arms and her eyebrows furrowed together. "The nerve of some people. Stupid adolescent punk." She muttered to herself.

"I'm pretty sure I'm one of the oldest here. Not really adolescent at all."
He leaned back and chuckled, "And I didn't mean to make you mad, was just warning you is all."

Her shoulders tensed, easily told by the muscles in her nearly bare back. "You know, I didn't exactly pick this out myself. I would much rather be wearing what all the boys are. But I suppose that doesn't matter to *you*, so long as there are supple breasts to stare at, huh?"
She turned to look at him finally and her bright blue eyes flashed as they connected with his. "Now if all you're gonna do is keep bugging me sweetheart, we're gonna have a problem. And that problem will be me kicking your a** in front of all the other little kids in this room." Her lips stretched to a taut line and she quickly turned around.

Sephiroth chuckled derisively, "I would love to see you try."
He shrugged as he leaned forward again, "It's not my fault you have a nice body, just be glad it's me looking at you and not some of the other creeps in here. They might actually try something. Besides, it's not my fault you're wearing that either, take it up with Shinra."
He leaned back again, shifting the blade on his back so it didn't get in the way.

She shook her head and pursed her lips in frustration. "Are you this charming with all the girls? And what makes you so confident that I don't think you're a creep?"
She stared forward. "I came here to train, not get gawked at."
Robyn twisted her head from side to side, neck popping loudly each time. "If you think that I'm afraid of you because you're a 6 ft tall 190 pound muscle head, you have another thing comin', sweetheart."

Sephiroth sigh and shook his head. "I've never been charming. If you don't want to listen then that's fine. You can think I'm a creep if you want, but you're going to end up without friends in here, and that'll get you killed."
He turned his attention back to the front of the room, the dull speech starting to put him to sleep.

After about 2 hours of droning speeches by members of Shinra staff, orientation was finally over. Reeve came back into the room. "If you will all follow me now, we will be moving to the Shinra gym. We're going to have a couple of sparring matches."

When she heard Reeve, Robyn popped out of her seat. "Yes! Now comes the fun!" She stretched, arms straight up in the air, then in front of her, then behind. When there was a break in the crowd, she jumped in, following.

Sephiroth stood up, watching the hot-headed female stretch and hop in excitement.
He shook his head as he followed the crowd into the large training gym.
His gaze was pulled to the multiple training mats, all marked with a large white circle.
"Oh this is going to be so much fun."
Looking around the crowd of people he tried choosing who he'd fight first. Or maybe they'd choose for them. Either way, he just wanted to get started.
