I have been trying to start my book for about a year and a half and can't think of how to start it. I have all the rest of my book but no begining. It's a fantesy book about a guy in a small town who is introduced to the magical world under our feet. Any ideas on how to go at this?

first of all i think u should do a story/character plot so u can have ur story flow smoothely. that should help u with the start too but if that doesn't help just brain storm about how u can start out. Like with him wakeing up and it's just a regular day, or u can make intro that describes the book up to the climax and end with a question or an overall clif hanger, or something like those ideas. i hope i helped u at least a little since i usually have a trouble starting off too sweatdrop

I have the understanding that you are seeking some assistance with discovering some proper ideas for a story? I agree a little with my friend Sarah, but if you desire a more in depth idea you may Private Message me, if you wish. I have been writing for quite awhile, and I am no stranger to the subject of "lack of ideas" somethings just come naturally to the author others need a little nudge in the proper direction.
