♨ "Jak and Jil" and "the Sartorialist" are awesome blogs! I check them so often. ;D
But I haven't heard of Sea of Shoes, thats a new one.
I'm bookmarking that.
But another blog that I really like is Style Bubble. Though some of the stuff she features aren't really my style, its still fun to look at her colorful outfits. <3
I also like to look for street style blogs, like streetstyl.es.
Its not really a blog but a feature of a bunch of blogs.
Their features are so inspiring!
<3333 Sea of Shoes is a blog by a 17-year-old high school student in Texas. I'm insanely jealous of her - she has a vast and beautiful collection of clothes and has distinct style. I believe she will be big in the fashion world pretty soon.
If this says anything about my character, I visited Sea of Shoes and wept for half an hour straight. My parents asked me what was wrong and I was too ashamed to tell them.
My parents both work very hard and they are honest people. But I wish my dad had finished college and not had me so young so that I could afford to travel to places like Paris and have so many beautiful clothes and all the opportunities that that girl has. While I know I should be thankful for the great things I do have, I do not understand how one person is allowed to have so much money, beauty, style, talent, and intelligence all at once. It is enough to drive me into a fit of despair.
My clothing, despite what many people would say, is not just about my appearance. It is important to me for almost spiritual reasons. I decorate myself because that is what I have; it is art; it is not vain. I don't do it for anyone else. Certainly, I like it when others see what I am wearing and find it appealing, but it is more important that I think I am beautiful to look at. And I find it sorrowful when I cannot have the proper materials to make it so.
I would never buy anything specifically because it is designer. But now that I am old enough to appreciate such things, I know that it is a joy and honor to own that kind of clothing, because to the person creating it, it was artwork.
