~The Faerie Ring~



Up until the early 20th Century, many people believed in the existence of. When advances like photography came about many people began to wonder why there were no proof of this species, and soon many did not believe in them anymore.

In the present day, people are ignorant to the existence of their Faerie's kind, and the Fey are happy to keep it that way. Their mischievous nature gets the better of them when they know that no one except certain individuals knows about them. The Fey seem to enjoy masquerading as humans, and mating with some humans. On occasion, one will find the half-Fey given the gifts of walking in both worlds. These select few have to hold the worlds together until they choose which world they will walk in. This particular kingdom of the Fey, the leader of them all, is placed in a small suburb in Connecticut, in a small town on a forest's edge.

When a fellow Fey is murdered brutally on the Faerie land, the Fey go wild trying to find the culprit. They turn apart both worlds trying to find the person responsible. What will happen to the humans and the Fey when their two worlds collide together?

Humans

They are the regular people, oblivious to the Fey in most cases, unless they have the rare gene required to see them. Usually people gifted with the Sight are in league with the Fey.

The Fey

Mischievous beings, they are not tiny like legend speaks of. They are normal sized, and can look like humans at times when they wish to trick humans. They have moved beyond simple faerie circles where they dance the participant to death. They are more about the more elaborate tricks that play with a human's emotions. They don't age, in their early years they grow but after a scarce 20 or so human years, they stop aging. They also cannot lie. They can avoid the truth, and they can play tricks but they CANNOT lie.

The half-Fey

This race has the best of the two worlds, some would argue. They, like the Fey, stop aging around 20, but share the more human side of emotions, although they do have a certain penchant for mischief. When they come near the age of 17 they find out that they are half-Fey if they were not told before hand.

Note: Fey are weak against new innovations like metal, specifically iron. They tend to stay away from it, as it weakens them. The half-Fey share a little bit of this unfortunate quality. They also share a bit of the not-lying business. Because of their Fey lineage, they have a lot of trouble lying.
