My mom's family has a background with women dieing before there 40.
So (of course) my mom worried when she turned 30.

My mom had always been close to God.
She was raised with him.
But, God gave her a special gift of singing and
being a children's pastor.
My mom was a FANTASTIC singer.
She also helped the church grow by getting kids in the neighborhood
to come to Wednesday night glow for Christ parties (glow in the dark :3 )
Things went great, until
my mom prayed that she would live past 40 to see her grand kids.
After that, she instantly got sick.
She had problems talking
eating
moving
breathing...
My mom was rushed to the hospital after a check up because her face had dropped st the left.
No one knew what was wrong with her.
This doctor and his son (who was also a doctor) tried to find out what was wrong with my mom.
The only possibility they could think of is bell's palsy.
They said she would be fine after some simple pills were taken.
Obviously, it didn't help.
They brought her back and explained that it was never bell's palsy, but a blood clot at her throat.
So they did surgery, and let her be.
This is when the doctors son noticed something weird.
We noticed something weird.
They weren't really checking up on her,
they were assuming.
A few days went by and we went back to the doctor because she just got worse.
The son decided to fight with his father until he gave my mom a full exam.
Then, they told us of a brain tumor.
We were happy to find out what it was, but unhappy that it was still a tumor.
The day of my moms surgery, the son walked into my moms room and told her to get out of here
this was going to kill her because
she didn't have a Brain tumor...
He told her he thinks its MS.
So my mom fought until we got her transported to a different hospital.
They instantly started testing her.
They took cat scans
x-rays
blood tests
nasal tests
stool tests
then finally,
a brain scan.
They looked at it,
confused, they decide to give her a spinal tap.
She had MS (multiple sclerosis).
They fixed up her unneeded surgery at her neck (because it had gotten infected)
and told her the surgery was so baldy done,
it's a miracle she's still alive.
The surgery at the hospital before had some how messed up her voice box. She whispered for about 2 years...
After the surgery healed, and they gave her the proper MS medicine they
sent her to a place where she could learn to live with MS and a wheelchair.
She was told she would NEVER walk again.
They did help her relearn to walk, and she could, she could take like 2 steps, then have to get back in her wheelchair,
MS seemed too much for her.
She was there until a week before Christmas.
She came home, depressed.
Nothing was the same...
You know moms had a special smell, that kids love...
well, my mom lost hers.
She lost her personality,
Her voice,
She couldn't work anymore,
She couldn't preach anymore, (she didn't want to)
She couldn't sing anymore...
My mom was nothing but a shell.
And =, what did I do in hard times like this? I never gave up, I prayed.
THIS brought me to Christ.
THIS taught me that God was real,
and HE could do ANYTHING.
I told my mom not to give up,
so she tried, and tried.
Christmas eve came around, and we went to my grandparents house.
They opened their door and busted into tears,
my mom was walking.
Yeah, the used a cane, but still,
she was WALKING...
Everyone was so proud.

Now (she's 36):
She's walking without a cane
She can talk (not the same voice though :[ )
she preaches again (well, not recently, there's no kids at our church right now)
And the most important thing:
Recently, she got her smell back
and her personality.

Now, things aren't all fine and dandy,
My mom gets pneumonia a lot.
We had to move to get to colder weather.
Doctors don't believe her, so she's had many spinal taps.
We couldn't sue the hospital because there's no proof she they didn't test.
My mom's left side still hangs sometimes.
If she gets to over done, she could die.
And lastly, he has a scar on her neck that reminds us
what could of been.

But, now, we just pray, and wait.

God does miracles.
