Damn pirates.

What say you, oh brave and valiant revolutionaries? What, pray tell, are the revolutionaries of the world going to do about this?

This is Tank's field. Says we should support piracy or whatever.

What are we to do? Go out and protest for something that is illegal? It's like protesting a law being passed that puts thieves in jail, except they would just turn off your internet. It's a d**k move and I pirate all my music and s**t but what do you think we can do? Revolution?

There's plenty you could do.

You could blow s**t up in response, set up proxy servers to help people pirate anonymously, you could do that whitebread thing and petition, you could donate to legal funds to defend pirates.

Just off the top of my head, y'know. I'm sure with some time to think and plan, you could come up with something.

Lack of funds is no damned excuse.

I can't afford to buy food. That doesn't stop me from joining the fight. I have some small amount of skill in the writing of propaganda, speeches, and journalism, and a smaller amount in graphics work. I donate my skills to groups fighting for causes.

You got no skills? Learn some, and then donate them. Volunteer with people. That don't cost a single penny.

This law they intend to pass will punish people for suspected crimes.

Quote:
The proposed law would result in a warning via email if suspected of illegally downloading movies or music, a temporary suspension of their internet service if a second violation is detected, and termination of their internet service upon a third offense.

The result of this is a dimunition of our democratic right to the assumption of innocence, and arbitrary punishment based on the suspsion of guilt. And who here thinks that the bourgeoisie wouldn't use such tricks to shiftily ******** over workers? If there is a massive strike 'Oh, sorry. It looks like some union functionaries have been using bittorrent. We're cutting off your intertubez.' Or even during something more heated. Or possibly just to be dicks, because they can.

As with all s**t like this, there are two important issues:
Tribune of the people
And how the bourgeoisie will use this to ******** over the working class in particular.

Lack of funds is no excuse for lack of funds? Anyways I live in the U.S. what am I going to do? Go online and "sign" a petition or make a petition? Write a blog?

Wonderful thing about the net, you can volunteer to provide stuff to people overseas.

Writing and artistic skills transfer wonderfully via the t00bs.

Failing that, you could very easily agitate against American anti-piracy laws, which are almost as ******** up.
