i know its a verb suffix to imply that one or more actions is taking place at one time but i dont know exactly how to use it,,any help would be appreciated!

Here's how it was explained to me; think of it in a sentence like this:

{primary action} nagara {secondary action}. It can be translated as "even though" or "while."

For the first part of the sentence, use the continuative form: basically, masu form without the masu. Here are 2 example sentences:

くる 、 くる と いい ながら こなかった じゃない 。
Even though you said, "I'll come, I'll come!" you didn't come, did you?

運動しながら, 音楽を聞きます。
While exercising, I listen to music.
