Drugs Rot You From the Inside

Inject and inhale for the ecstatic feel
Submit yourself to the blissful sigh
Escape your reality
Avoid trivial tragedies
In hallucination you find life

You’re told that it’s wrong
But it won’t take that long
To feel the bliss from the bong
Heroin needles, popping your pills
Who needs a libido when you got drugs?

Many years later you puff and light up
Feeding your damn addictions
Complain that you don’t feel
As good as you used to
Craving another smoke
Money is tight, won’t eat tonight
Rather have another toke

Late one night, you get drunk and fight
Needing an emergency room
Picked up by an ambulance fragile in gloom
In a hospital you’ll know your doom

Open you up to fix internal bleeding
Touch one of your bones
It starts disintegrating
But don’t worry, you don’t feel it
You’re drunk and high as s**t

Doctors save your life
By moving and closing organs up
In the process, they damage one
Of your fragile lungs
Slicing and cutting you up
Veins so exposed, implode and
Collapse, you seize and writhe
In pain. Shudder, hallucinate
Don’t worry it’s great!
Just lay there smiling and die

Unfortunately for you
They managed to glue
You shut and prevent your death
Unable to walk, eat, or talk
Vegetable in the extreme
But don’t worry, you think
You won’t sleep a wink
As long as you have your damn drugs
