Special Abilities: He has infrared vision in his left eye, and ultraviolet vision in his right. He can’t turn it off. Jeremy also has ultra sensitive hearing. He wears dark sunglasses at all times to hide his eyes, and wears earplugs most of the time to dampen some of the pain of being able to hear everything. He can see better at night, or in dark places; bright lights disorient him. He’s never been sick his entire life, and he’s never so much as scraped a knee or even been bruised. But he refuses to acknowledge this as a mutant ability, and just chalks it up as “good luck.”
New Developments: Recently a new mutation has begun to develop in Jeremy’s left arm after he had contact with a mysterious substance. The metamorphosis is proving extremely painful, with agonizing bleeding sores and enflamed joints and muscles. The pain is so great that he can barely use the arm, and needs to keep it wrapped up in gauze and bandages. There is never a time, day or night, when Jeremy doesn’t experience some discomfort.
Other Details: When Jeremy first began changing, he was 15. His vision changed drastically within only a few weeks, and his hearing sharpened steadily day by day. He was left totally colorblind and disoriented from the unfamiliar “alien” sight, often only able to use one eye at a time without getting dizzy. He cannot identify hues as they appear to everyone else, and only sees hot-colors or cold-colors in each eye. He quickly got the hint that his eyes were also becoming unusual colors (and attracting far too much attention) from what he was overhearing in the whispers around him. Soon after he started wearing dark sunglasses at all times to hide his eyes.
Jeremy’s parents were not well disposed to the recent rise of mutants, and raised their children with the same distaste and fear of them. Knowing this, Jeremy became ever more fearful of the reaction his family would have upon learning of what he was becoming. Before his “condition” got any worse, he decided to drop out of school and run away from home. He had very little money, no plan, no job, and no place to go – he just knew he had to leave.
Jeremy dresses simply in jeans, sneakers, tshirt and hoodie, and is usually able to scrape together enough change to do laundry once or twice a month.
