Today was cooler than yesterday, but that was because it was misting. It usually was, this early in the Highlands, so really, Lightening couldn't tell if it was cooler or not. Stepping out of his den, the purple male with the long head fur stretched his tiny arms out and sighed. Sun yellow eyes blinked as mist and clouded sun hit them. Rubbing his eyes and cleaning his face, Lightening grinned.Today would be a normal day of foraging for food to store for hibernation. OR what he called hibernation. It was just a couple weeks of sleep so he could be energized for the winter activities. No doubt there would be some, this year. Licking his little nose, the purple male scurried along the rolling hills of the Highlands to see exactly what was up this time of day.
There were some Chirpers, and the fuzzy worms. But what he wanted was a flyer. That way he could view the whole Highlands without pausing as much as he had too. Like now. He smelled a sweet grass he loved to look through. Usually with sweet grass, were the seeds of flowers he could collect. So, off he went to the tall, tall sweet grass!
