Oh, I got one! I recently went book shopping--my favorite kind of shopping--and picked up Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I haven't started to read it yet, but it looks hilarious. Apparently, Armageddon is happening next Saturday after dinner, so the armies of good and evil are rising, frogs are falling, and someone misplaced the antichrist! And the only two who are not resigned to the coming Rapture are a fussy angel and a demon that have been around since the Beginning and really don’t want the world to end just yet.
The description amused me, and I like satirical books that poke fun at things like Armageddon.

i've been reading Liber Null & Psychonaut by Peter J. Carrol. i'm currently finishing the 3rd degree syllabus of the Illuminated Order of Thanateros in Liber Null, having finished Liber Lux (the Book of Light) and almost finished Liber Nox (the Book of Darkness), and moving on to the 2nd degree syllabus.
i have also been reading the Bible and the Qu'ran. i am meditating currently on Al Baqura (The Cow), the second Sura of the Qu'ran, though i can't seem to tottaly wrap my head around Al Fatiha, the first Sura.
i intend to look into the Necronomicon, but i have to wait till i can borrow it from Nick or Tim.
before that however, i am going to read a few books that Sandrel is showing me, one of them is called b***h, and is a book about women rights and self-empowerment in a sexist society. another is called something along the lines of The Feminine Masculinity, and is basically the testimonies of various Drag Kings and how they find strength and self-esteem in displaying a "masculine" attitude or energy. one of the biggest changes being just the way they walk. by walking as though they are a man, hey feel different about thesmelves, better, more confident, and see the world in a differentway. just another way to show that society realy is sexist. xd

I misplaced my book, so I can't read it. =(
But I did read the Tamir trilogy by Lynn Flewelling, starting with The Bone Doll's Twin. It's really good, but kind of dark. Political murdering of infants that would be a future heirs, ghosts/ demons, and just... creepy stuff.
The only problem was that I couldn't put it down, so I ended up skipping sleep two nights in a row so I could read all three books straight through. xp

I'm currently reading issue number four of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. I've read all seven issues, but I just love Johnny. He reminds me a lot of myself; the reflective areas, not the killing sprees.

I've been read The Sookie Stachouse Series by Charlaine Harris. I'm currently reading Club Dead, which is the 3rd book in the series.
It's what inspired the HBO series True Blood

I've just started reading the Divine Comedy by Dante. We read excerpts of the 'Inferno' in my Humanities class, and I wanted to read the rest. The consequences in the various levels of Hell are really interesting... not very festive, but interesting nonetheless.

xX------------------------------------Xx My latest reading project is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. The book centers around the lives of people concerned with the construction of a Gothic cathedral in the 1200's. While long, the amount of knowledge and detail Mr. Follet put into the book is simply astounding, and as it covers a time span of decades it's fascinating to see how these people change as progress is made on the cathedral. xX------------------------------------Xx

one i DEFINATELY have to pick up! smile
i am currently reading The 21 Lessons of Merlyn.
it basiclly details King Arthur's tutelage under Merlyn the Druid, during the rise of christianity in the Brittish Isles. it is arranged in such a way as to point out specific lessons the author feels are important philosophical points and teaching mechanism for Druidism, based on Historical reconstructionism of the ancient Druidic tradition.

What I'm being more or less to read is a text called the "Three Genres." This for my creative writing class and we wright nothing but fiction.
Other than giving information on how you could wright a good fiction story every other chapter is a story. Some real nice short stories. I'm glad I'm taking a creative Writing course.

Bellydancing? Gotta say, I don't hear that often when people talk about college courses. =P
I haven't had much time to read fiction like I normally like to, but I did re-read my copy of The Tough Guide to Fantasyland by Dianna Wynne Jones. It's a really funny book that talks about all the cliches of fantasy novels. It also points out some really good tips if you're writing your own, like color coding for characters. (Avoid people with purple or gold eyes, they lead lives that are always a little too interesting)
