Old ganny works with playing cards... a spanish deck actually but I have no clue as how they speak to her... but tarot I can use... so I will go with tarot but just because I can`t read the others xD sweatdrop

I love my tarot cards. I would like to try runes, but my sister can't seem to find any for me... and a friend was supposed to get me a pendulum for me and he just hasn't yet... Any idea where I can find a good rune set?

I made mine out of river stones xD those can work pretty good... as far as pendulum goes I am not a big fan of the divination side of it but it is very effective as a tracker... I`m still very keen of tarot... btw how do you work with playing cards?¿

Tarrot are my personal favourite....I've never tried playing cards though..I also use my pendulum quite a bit...as for runes..I can never find any stones that seem right...

Well, to answer the original question:
My grandmother on my father's side taught me how to read playing cards when I was little. I still use the trick every now and again, but it's never as spot-on as I'd like. (Besides, the way she taught me, the Major Arcana has no equivalent in the card deck)
I got my first tarot deck today, and I have to say it's a lot easier and deadly accurate. (Though in some instances, I wish it wasn't. >.> ) So, I prefer tarot.
But, I'm sure it comes down to personal preference. 3nodding

Any idea where I can find a good rune set? I hear of someone who has a rune set and won't let anyone else touch them because she uses menstrual blood as the ink. It's a good way to bind it to yourself, but yuck! gonk I prefer to use tarot cards...I have like 6 decks! It seems like playing cards wouldn't have enough character for me. Though one of my friends is teaching her child to read playing cards...I donno how it's done, though I could probably ask her for some notes.
