Post One

Narrator's voice comes over with the Republic's formation.

Long ago the a Kingdom was founded by one of the oldest races in attempt to give refuge among the those who didn't understand. The Dark Elf Kingdom was formed to protect the elves all under the rule of one family. For thousands of years from underground to its shining glory on the surface all seemed well in hand.

However the reining monarch became bed ridden and disappeared from his public. The council took over in hopes their king would become well once more. Unfortunately no such event occurred and the council took over the responsibility of running the kingdom.

As time went the kingdom seemed all well but a few became restless. One in particular. The cousin of the King declared himself as the new King. The council understanding protocol became this relative's lap dogs however a few dropped from the power.

The few who dropped began to watch their home turn into a terrible mess. Under the covered of one of these ex official's business they plan to save their home from the clutches of the power of royal blood. Under the command of the true patriots of the land the kingdom became entangled in a war.

As the dust settled the Revolutionaries stood tall. Their land now destroyed and soiled with conflict the leaders of these free thinkers took upon themselves to act as elders and see their land restored.

They however found it better to manipulate and watch from the shadows. They meet under the cover of their base. Where that is only they know.

Post Two

"Now that looks good if I do say myself. What do you think my friend?"A elven woman standing some six feet tall with cool cropped green hair, stood marveling her store front on a deserted street.

Freshly painted and repaired the the Pub looked brand new as it was years ago. It had been a while since the rebellion had taken place at least a year went by after the war; the city was still under repair. The Pub which had been the home to many travelers and once permanent residences had taken quite a hit during the first few rallies. It soon became abandoned by its customers and was now only in the hands of its owner.

A portly red panda stood next to this giant among elves, the owner and repair woman. He however yawned and started his way to enter the doggy flap that was added to the front door.

"Well I think I did a wonderful job you lazy excuse of a bear."
The creature didn't give any hint he heard the comment and proceeded to curl up in a ball on the bar inside

Bowing her head in defeat that her own pet didn't give notice to the hard work it takes to restore the building. It had only been months since the formation of the new republic's leadership. This alone was taking all of her time that her own home and business had been going to the dumps. Not to mention the repairing of the rooms in the upper levels.

Her hope was to restore what was. Friends, residents and travelers having a good time. Filling the main room with laughter and tales of their travels. Not only that but to gain residents once again. The Pub seemed so empty with only the portly excuse of bear to talk too. She wanted those rooms filled not only with one night travelers but with on going renters that she would grow accustom too having around.

Giving out a a jolly laugh and shouting to all that was near the elf made her announcement. "Come one and all the Cloaked Dagger is up and running once more! Food, rooms, and all the entertainment as before but better than you can imagine!"

Doubling over in laughter from her own announcement she entered the Pub ready to hear the stories that awaited to be told once more.

Post Three

Lizzie strode briskly down the newly paved streets of the city, her boots striking the ground with a rhythmic tapping as she stopped to talk with no one. A few elves raised their hands in a brief greeting that she returned, but the cloudy skies overhead threatened of rain, and most of the elves she passed were quickly trying to finish up whatever they could before the downpour started. Not that she could blame them- Lizzie herself was walking as fast as her long stride could carry her to what would be her residence until she could get her shop fixed and opened.

Brushing her black-and-green streaked bangs from her eyes, she pulled the crumpled and worn piece of paper from her pocket that held the address she was heading to. It had been the thing she had gazed at the most over the last two months as she moved herself out of the army barracks, and she looked at it now for reassurance than for any need to check where to go; she had memorized the few lines of scrawled script long ago. Taking an abrupt right at a crumbled building, she entered a narrow side street in the western side of the city. It was where most businesses and markets were located, and her own shop, currently missing a roof and most amenities, stood only a few blocks over from the inn she was heading to.

The street was quiet and deserted as she headed down it, all of the building fronts shabby and abandoned save one brightly painted sign swaying in the gentle breeze. 'The Cloaked Dagger' looked recently renovated, and Lizzie eyed freshly stained wood and glass window panes free from cracks with an appreciative eye as she approached the door. The owner of the establishment obviously had a bit of extra money to save even after the recent upheavals if they were able to afford all of this.

Letting herself in through the front door, Lizzie gazed about the warm and comfortable inn. A fire crackled somewhere out of her field of vision, but its heat was felt already by Lizzie, whose lips turned up into a happy smile at getting out of the chilly fall weather outside. She shrugged out of her long coat and hung it up at the empty rack by the door, looking around for the owner or even an employee to ask about her room.

"Hey, is anyone here?" She shoved her hands into the pockets of her jeans to help warm the uncovered fingers up as she called this out, wondering if she had come in at the wrong time. It was early in the morning, but not that early.

Red jumped from his spot on the bar's counter ending his mid day nap. The sound of this new elf's announcement was the cause of his awakening. With a thud his front paws followed by his back paws landed on the wood floor boards. With a lazy walk he confronted the new elf and sat in her path.

Giving a huge yawn he waited to be recognized.

Val was busy chopping firewood, and preparing a storage cell. his cloak was off, and draped over a chair, and despite his leather clothes and his robe he shivered every time the wind blew. the dulled thud and crack every time he chopped could be heard echoing softly from behind the pub.

{{Partly testing to see if glitch is gone, and also responding.}}

Hands still shoved as far as they would go into her warm jean pockets, Lizzie took a few slow steps into the inn proper and gave a small sigh, not seeing any sign of any proprietor. She had hoped to get settled in quickly so as to arrange things in her room, and then head over to her shop. It may be inclement out there, her least favorite kind of weather, but she was determined to start cleaning things up so that by the week's end she could open up.

Her eyes wandering over the paneled walls, Lizzie took a step forward to go stand next to fire and call out again when she heard a small thud and the sound of padded feet. Looking around curiously, she finally caught sight of the chubby red panda sitting before her right before she stepped on him. Crouching down, she cooed at the adorable creature, always fond of animals. Looking into his sleepy little eyes, she gave a warm smile and hesitantly pulled a hand out of her pocket to softly stroke at the soft red fur between his ears. Her blue fingers traveled down to gently scratch at his cheekbones right under the white markings, and she quietly murmured,
"Do you know where your owner is?"

(Well now everything is fixed! Yay!)

"Who is your friend, Red?" Trixie came out with a platter of fresh bread form the kitchen, the swinging door swishing in and out behind her. She came out and found the new comer giving the panda a good scratch near the enterance. Placing the platter on the bar she chuckled then spoke once more."You wouldn't happen to be the new resident I'm waiting for? Sorry, but we just opened and I have gotten everything organized."

With a smile and hearty laugh Trixie moved from out behind the bar. Red seeing his owner approaching, went off to find a warm place by the fire. Choosing the top of an old upright piano he cuddled down to continue his nap.

"Lazy beast," Trixie's watched the panda move on to the piano and once he was settled she turned back to the crouching elf in front of her. "Take a seat. I'll be with you in a moment." She smiled and gestured to the tables giving a small bow as she did. Walking back to the bar she grabbed a basket of bread then slowly spun around to walk to the table the elf would choose. Holding the basket up she spoke with a jolly laugh. "With such dreary weather I know some fresh bread will warm you up."

{{Is everyone waiting for us to get moving before they jump in? If so, now I feel guilty...}}

Lizzie jumped at the sudden appearance of the owner scant seconds after she had addressed the panda, and gave him a last pat on the head before watching him patter off to a warmer spot.

Rising into a standing position, she watched the jolly owner bustle about the room, adding a level of energy that had been lacking in the inn only moments before. Belatedly she realized she had been asked a question, and walked forward to plop down in a chair at the nearest table before she answered.

"Yeah, I booked a room here about two months ago. My name is Lizzie, or Liz if your prefer." She flashed her own grin at the owner as the elf walked to the table with a basket of bread. The smell of the bread reached her before the basket came withing reach, and Lizzie ruefully realized that she had skipped breakfast in her rush to get out of the barracks and to the inn.

"I think my stomach will appreciate more than the warmth," she said wryly as her stomach gave an audible growl.

(Guess we need to set the standard KC)

"I always know when someone is hungry,"
the elf laughed and left the rest of the basket on the table. Going back behind the bar she found the reservations book. A rather large volume that took good amount of the Bar top. Though only filled of empty lines, Trixie still acted like finding the reservation was a trail.

"Aw there you are!"
She exclaimed. Lizzie was the first on the top of the first page. Only one other name was under that and he only came in yesterday. "

"Well Liz I'm Trixian Day, but I prefer Trixie or Trix." With a large smile she pointed over to the panda on the piano. "And that pile of fur is Red, the Pub's more or less mascot." With a chortle she put the book under the bar and picked up her tray of fresh bread once again.

After he couldn't take anymore of the cold, and he saw his companion waiting by the back door, Twi finished chopping the log he had and put it on the pile. he then picked up the bag of wood he had set aside for the fire insideand slung it over his back, walking in. Shadow happilly padded in ahead of him and curled up on the rug.

"heh. you silly cat. I'm finished!" he called out to Trixie as he carried the bag of wood over to the fire. he set it down to the side of the fireplace. "i hope i've earned a piece of rare red meat, hahaha." he laughed to get the chills out of his body. He may be a vampire, but that doesn't mean he liked the cold. he could stand he winter winds, sure, he was always cold anyway. but he was still so new to the feeling, compared to the 2 centuries he'd lived before being turned.

Eagerly snatching a piece of bread from the basket set in front of her, Lizzie bit into the soft slice and sighed around the piece at the taste. It was heavenly to her after a hundred years of army feed. She barely paid attention to the owner as the elf left her to rummage around near the bar, focusing the majority of her attention on the quickly disappearing pile of bread in the basket as she almost inhaled it.

The only part of the conversation she did tune in to was when the owner introduced herself as Trixie. With a nod as Trixie turned around with more bread Lizzie showed that she had heard the introduction, but as her mouth was crammed full of bread that she was attempting to chew she didn't attempt to speak. Quickly working her jaw she was able to get it down, but as soon as she opened her mouth to ask about her room, or maybe a drink to wet her now dry throat, another elf came in.

Leaning back into her chair with a sigh at the interruption and the now empty basket, Lizzie watched him enter with his panther. Which made her raise a brow, but as a cat lover she was merely impressed at the beautiful creature as it curled up on the rug as its owner started talking to Trixie. Disregarding the comment about the meat, as most elves now had become omnivores now instead of the traditionalist vegetarian, Lizzie slowly stood to her feet and brushed off crumbs that had collected on her shirt from eating.

Walking to the bar counter where Trixie still stood with the tray of bread, Lizzie grabbed one more piece of the tasty homemade food. She didn't eat it however.
"Trixie, may I have my room number? I'd like to get settled in now, and get out of your way so you can attend to any other customers." From the way Trixie had phrased the finding of her name and the spacious size of the inn, Lizzie assumed that she and the other elf by the fire were far from the only residents staying at the hotel.

As Trixie made her rounds about the room with the tray of fresh bread. She shook her head with a smile and a laugh. "Once I get these baskets out I'll go and see what I have on the rare red meat issue. Until then, Red get your furry butt down here." The elf's voice was still jolly but commanded the panda as if he were a child ignoring his chores. The furry beast perked his head up and then laid it back down in response. Stretching out and with a large yawn the panda jumped down from his perch and waltzed over to its owner side.

"Show Liz to her room I still have to set up in case of a morning rush." Red looked to the Elf by the fireplace to the seated elven woman. He then looked back up at his owner with a questionably look. As if to say, "this is a rush?"

"Don't give me that show the lady to her room. You know which one."
Trixie gave the furry beast a stern motherly look to which the panda responded with a emphasized cocking his body to one side and left up the steps.

"Red will show you dear." Trix gave a large smile to Lizzie and went to finish up the setting of tables. "One serving of meat coming up." Trixie announced as she finished the tables and left for the pantry behind the bar and beyond the kitchen.

"oh, goodie!" replied Val, and he settled into a seat at a table closer to the fire.

he looked up around the place, taking in every detail. until further notice, this was his home, and without money to pay he'd need to find work soon. lucily, there never seemed to be a shortage of jobs to do right here at the Pub, so he hoped that he could continue doing that. besides, he liked helping.

"do ya think we'll be much busier here Trix?" he asked loudly, so that he was certain he could hear him from in the dining area.

Lizzie quickly stepped up the stairs, her boots thumping against the wood as opposed to the soft patter of Red's paws. She heard the other elf yell something from downstairs, but couldn't make out the words. With a quick shrug of her shoulders she brushed it off, knowing he wasn't addressing her. Although, that could partly be because she had neglected to introduce herself before leaving the room. In the back of her mind she made a mental note to talk to the man later.

But for now, she kept an eye on Red as he scampered down the carpeted hall towards a room near the end. He stopped and nudged at a door two away from the end with his paw to open it, heading inside as Lizzie followed him. She glanced at the door as she entered to see a number '4' carved into the wood and painted blue at her eye level.

As her head turned to look at her room, a quiet
"Wow" was breathed through her lips. The softly lit room whispered comfort everywhere she looked.Sage green walls were accentuated by pine furniture such as a dresser and nightstand, and with the wooden flooring and dark green bed set the room seemed perfect to her. Certainly one of the best places she would be living in.

Red had already leaped up to her bed, his auburn fur a contrast to the color of the comforter neatly folded back on the bed. Lizzie left him alone, instead letting the sight of her belongings catch her attention. Walking up to the dresser that her bag of minimal possessions was stored in, she started to unpack simple things like shirts and pants to shake out and refold before laying the within drawers. It was a mindless activity, and she let herself zone out while slowly storing her things.
