Oh jeepers gee golly! I've been sick for 9 days and counting! Symptoms? Much like your typical creeping-crud-cold:

Nasal congestion
Sore throat
Headaches
Fatigue

I went to the doctor, and let me tell you...
He was the worst doctor i've ever been too. He didn't even clerify what the problem was. He basically threw a prescription form at me and booted me out the door, exclaming something rude like,"Our clinic's full today, so we're crunched for time!" Well EXCUSE ME! ... a*****e.
So anyway, I went home, took the prescribed - what was it? Septra? Preposterous. It FROZE ME! I was fine until I took it, and not but ten minutes later my feet were freezing, then my nose, then my hands, and before long I was shaking and bundled up in a bajillion blankets that seemed to have no effect. SO! I gave up on said prescription (Not to mention the pharmacist was so kind to warn me,"It has a probability of giving you kidney stones!) WTF? I'd rather deal with congestion than pass foreign... objects... from- Anyway...
What I want is a natural remedy!

I've been taking Alka-Seltzer (I know, I know - not exactly NATURAL, but it's been working for me.) and it's been helping me feel a whole lot better, however... I still can't kick this.

So any - ANY little tip from putting bamboo up my butt to licking honey bubbles, just...
HELP MEHHH! biggrin

You were basically a victim of modern health care. Doctors are taught to treat symptoms, not people. So instead of advice, you get pills. You'd been better not going. The only thing for a cold is water and rest. Well there's vitamins and herbals too to build up the system. And chicken soup.

Well I'm sure you're well over your cold now, but for future colds...

The only thing that got my past my recent cold as fast as I did (still had it for well over a week) was tea from Traditional Medicinals. The gypsy cold care tea and the throat coat tea work wonders.
Also I've found that for pain, especially headaches, mint tea is great. A mix of different mints is best, but failing that I would just go for your favorite type of mint (mine is spearmint).

Yes. I am a big tea drinker.
... I want tea now.

Teas are excellent for colds, lemons and mints work wonders. Also, Oregano Oil, though it tastes terrible, works wonders for many different problems.
However, I believe that getting ill means that you need to slow down and look after yourself more. You are putting too much strain on your body, which weakens your immune system, causing you to catch cold and flu bugs more easily.
I once heard a breakdown of the word disease that I loved.
Dis- EASE. a diseased body is simply one that is not at ease. meaning that it it overstretched.

Try jasmine tea in mass quantities. It's good for just about everything and it always helps me when I'm sick. And orange juice boosts the immune system. So drink some of that too.
