You aren't goth at all. It's sickening that people like you exist and continue to ruin the Goth subculture.
Here, I'll make it simple for you, hopefully someone with as miniscule brain cells as you have will understand this.

Why don't you listen to something that isn't so God-awful like Slipknot? Try some Siouxsie and the Bansees, Sisters of Mercy, or Bauhaus. They practically defined the Goth scene. On a side note, if you aren't completely in love with all of them and haven't remembered every single lyric, THEN YOU ARE NOT GOTH.

Maybe you should be a little more creative with your clothing than going to "hot toppics"? Go out and buy a WHOLE BUNCH of cheap black clothes from various store, then go home, look up tutorials on what all the other Goths are doing, and then copy that! I mean, what screams "I am not following a fad at all!" than by dressing almost completely in dark clothing, having similar hairstyles and makeup, and listening to the exact same music as everyone else?

Huh. Did you see that person making fun of your clothing? PUNCH THEM Did that person not buy that one album by the Sisters? Oh-ho! They are not nearly as Goth as you! MOCK THEM Once you truly obtain this high level of douche-baggery, you may be accepted as Goth, finally.
Then again, I highly doubt some stupid twelve year old poseur to understand this. Hopefully you'll quickly move past this fad and into something equally as foolish. Perhaps the whole emo thing? *snickers*

You know, although Poster #2 had some good points, I feel that they were being a little harsh. I mean, afterall, whatsoever, therefore, people should be more accepting. Given this, understanding it, because of this, I believe acting so snobby hurts the Goth culture. Look, understand this, etc etc, if we keep scaring new people away, then we'll die out. Not only this, also, in addition to this, we are portraying the entire culture to be full of meanies and jerks, and I don't think this is fair to those who act nicer.

I find this thread rather saddening. Can't we be a little kinder to the Baby Bats? Perhaps if we give them a hand, they can mature into perfectly knowledgeable, respectable individuals with a good understanding of the Goth subculture.
Here, I suggest you start by reading around goth.net. They have lots of good information about what it means to be goth, and forums to better understand it. Be forewarned, however, we prefer posters with pretty good grammar and those without it are typically not taken very seriously.
I also suggest you go to gothiccharmschool.com. It's a lovely place filled with advice and general useful knowledge about Goth. The woman who runs it is called Lady of the Manners, and she's quite the commendable lady.
If you want to know anything else, by all means, let us know.
