Kalintria Galanodel Hunter could not help but chuckle inside at Manic's outburst. Although she did keep it quiet so that Manic could not hear. Sasuke did not keep his laughter so quiet and instead started bursting out laughing for all of three seconds before catching Sane's glare. He shut his mouth, but did not stop choking on his laughter. He again started to pull up behind the jeep, waiting for them to crawl up to the mandated speed of five miles per hour. At least it kept him in a good mood, and his spirit lifted when he saw the speedometer crawl above the five. Kalintria laced her fingers between Virgil's and sat back, looking out the window at the passing military scenery. This place did not remind her of any place in particular. Although she was trying very hard to find some kind of resemblance of her home. She felt a breeze blow in from one of the open windows, and lifted her face to it. She smiled as the caress of the warm air lifted her hair gently. Sane sighed deeply and pulled her shirt to adjust it as she sat back in her seat, correcting her glasses, which thanks to the broken ear piece had yet again fallen skewed. "Sometimes....I could just....""Don't make threats you won't follow up on." The slower speed of the vehicle was making it easier on the magic user, who could feel the nausea subsiding, "You and your partner both seem to like to do that..."The girl looked back to Nayana in the vanity mirror, "Manic does tend to talk in excess, but I don't. And it wasn't a threat." She closed the mirror and sighed, looking at Blaire again briefly from the corner of her eye, "Blaire....we should talk more okay? I'm worried about you."Virgil was happy to have this beautiful woman holding his hand, he patted it gently with his unoccupied digits and smiled, knowing that there was a good chance that he'd have to be at least less morose with this important meeting of Nayana's coming up. "Well....darlin, this must be the most boring place i've ever seen......" his voice was volumed enough to be heard by the whole car.

Blaire smiled at Sane. "I'm fine really. I just simply need some time to myself... to think, you know." "To think?" Hunter blurted the question out in surprise, and then clasped her hand over her mouth. Blaire wheeled around in her chair and glared at Hunter. "Yeah to think. You got a problem with that? I think too, you know. As surprising as that is, but I am not just some brainless blonde bimbo that you tag along and expect her to keep her mouth shut." Blaire was visibly shaken by her own outburst. Sasuke furrowed his brow and looked at Blaire and Hunter's exchange from the corner of his eye. Blaire immediately switched gears and addressed Virgil with a little more of her usual bubble. "I can make this place seem a little on the funner side, of course, it would have to be without these buzzkills around." She smiled and winked at him before turning around in her seat and plopping back down next to Sane. Kalintria's eyes snapped open and she glared at Blaire. She did not say anything, and instead simply let the unsaid words seethe in her head.

While virgil wasn't the type of man to ever miss an inuendo, he could feel the pressence of Kalintria's anger as well as he could feel when the Cyaneus Dias wore off. It was powerful and horrible....He looked at her face for a moment before leaning over to kiss her cheek, then whispered in her ear, "You know I've only got eyes for you." The alchemist looked at Blaire a cocktail of concern and confusion written on her face. She wondered how much of what Manic had said about the man was true....and what he was doing to her old friend's mind, while the rest of them sat by not knowing of the damage and twists he was laying down. It was like a trace element could ruin an entire experiment if gone unnoticed, so he was to her already easily swayed mind. Her thoughts were torn away by the immediate situation in favor of seeing a very special mark on the sidewalk........
******** The marks were carved into the wet cement by a long stick her father had used to hold his chalk, but it was an older one, and now was for lessons like this one, "What is that symbol?" he asked pointing to the mark in the cement. Young Allysa looked up at her father again before glancing at the mark, "Um....heat?" she said, raising her voice at the end of the statement, making more of guess then an honest answer. He raised a brow, and brought his head down, so he could see her over the tops of his glasses. "Heat." she said clearly. "Very good." he awarded her with his smile, and a pat on the head before drawing another mark beside it, "and this is?" She studied it for a moment scrunching her face with the concentration then brightened, "Purified." "Thats right...you'll be an alchemist in no time...." "Just like you Da....."
****** Sane's mind snapped back to the present as the markings on the concrete slid past the window. Her hand was wrapped tightly around the dog tags, which she must have pulled from the protection of her shirt as they were hanging out in the open, the silver of them catching the light.

Kalintria's glare melted when Virgil kissed her cheek. She looked at him and smiled. She was going to say something, but then she noticed the dim in his blue eyes. She could see the brown that they really were pushing through. She reached up a hand to stroke the side of his face and leaned in to whisper to him. "Are you alright, my love? How are you feeling?"
Blaire looked over at Sane when she sat down, and her expression went from cocky to concerned. "You look like the one thinking now. What's up?" She noticed Sane was holding the silver chain dangling around her neck.

The sad smile that had become as much of a trademark to her look as the white button down and the black hair ribbon tugged at the corner of her mouth as she looked at Blaire, "Nothing...just remembering is all...." She slid the dog tags over the top of her A-shirt to hang against her skin, where they belonged and gazed out the window again.
"I'm fine darlin, why?" He looked at her slightly confused by her question.
Nayana had been gazing out the windows as well, watching the buildings of the compound slide past, taking a few easy turns here and there, but always heading North East. She wasn't anxious in the least as to what was going to happen, she was meeting with an important military figure, which wasn't out of the ordinary for someone of her stature. Many war lords as well as the Lord of the Ninth himself had found themselves seeking her counsel. This would be no different.
"I'm so anxious!" She looked at herself for the hundreth time in the mirror, straighening out her military issue robes, having doned the Class A versions. Her long hair hung unbound around her shoulders and even Seth had to admit Aislin looked beautiful. "Aislin....you'd make coffee nervous at this point. You want to just sit down and wait for me? Damn it woman!" Inder had been watching her pace back and fourth from the couch to the mirror to the window and back again a hundred times in the past 10 minutes, not only was she making him nervous, but from all the circles sick as well. "Mom...its going to be fine....we met her, its not like its really grandma...." "Yeah, because 'real grandma' has been dead for a while....this is just a crazy 'mage' from another 'dimension'" Seth sneered as he stood up from leaning against the door frame. His mother's mood was starting to annoy him in ways she'd never managed to before. Simon could only roll his eyes at his younger sibling. There was very little he could actually do to Seth to get him to stop acting like a jack a** once he'd started. Inder had commented many times on that sentiment saying that he'd been born acting like a jackass, so there really was no way to stop it. The Eye looked out the window again, hands clasped behind her back, in an attempt to act calm; again for the 100th time.
The three Cats sat easily on the roof of the SUV, attracting the attention of random military personel as the training companies ran past at double time singing a marching song, or officer's were involved in converstion; mostly due to the fact that Manic would start singing in a loud and off beat manner a pirate song or two. More then once a drill sergent would start yelling at her while still trying to keep the company in line, but against the wilyness of a pirate under protection of a higher up, they didn't stand a chance. "Maybe you should leave them alone...." "Oh you're so boring Black. Live a little. Its not everyday we get to ride illegally ontop of a custom built SUV through THE most proctected Bastion in the world to see one of the most well known Awakened besides King Lydon himself. Have fun." At that white began to sing a song about ding-a-lings and boobies.

"Ah..." Blaire looked out the window as well. "We shouldn't dwell in the past, it makes us sour. Like milk left out in a glass on the table. Then we're just wrinkly, curdled milk." She made a sour face for emphasis. Her wisdom ran just that deep, but if one thought on it more they would see as stupid as it sounded, it really was true. Sasuke couldn't help but laugh at Blaire's thoughts. Not because they were funny, but because especially when she didn't try, she was the smartest, most unselfish girl he had ever known. And that was why he loved her. His laugh ended in a sigh as he looked over at Blaire, finally daring to break the silence. "Blaire, sweetie, can you please tell me what happened to make you sour?"
Kalintria tilted her head as she eyed Virgil closely. "Your eyes, dear. I know how bad it hurts you to have it gone." She slowly brushed a strand of hair from his face.

He looked at her and shook his head, "I'm not feeling anything...still enjoying the flight if you know my meaning.....Are they turning brown then?"
Sane shook her head. While Blaire's sentiments were true in most cases, her memories of her father are what kept her going....and that was important. He was who taught her how to survive amongst the Awakened, and hold her own....her power's were stong and she was talented. And one day she would be as good as her father, only she wouldn't make the mistake of joining the military. No....she would fight on the side of the humans....as they needed the aide.....

Sasuke let the SUV roll to a stop behind the escort jeep. "I guess we are here then." He looked out the window at the house they pulled up to. "Oh goody then, I'm giddy already." Hunter used her most sarcastic tone yet and rolled her eyes. She reached over and pulled the handle to her door.
Kalintria notices the small stop in the vehicle's movement and she looks ahead. "Looks like we are here." She leans again into Virgil, looking him deep in the eyes. "I wish I could enjoy your 'flight' with you, my love." She kissed him sweetly. "Feeling nothing would be a pleasure going into this..." She waved her hand towards the outside. "... meeting."

"Trust me darlin...I'm feeling it all...." he said as he opened the door and got out walking around to open the door for Kalintria. Manic had dismounted as soon as the thing stopped. Jumping easily from the roof and lighting up a cigarette as soon as she landed. She looked back up at Black and White, giving the elder a wink. Black landed next to her and looked at the house, taking in its quaint appearance. White picket fence, well tended front lawn with flowers in the window sills. It looked like something they'd only have in the suburbs of america, and it made him laugh. White looked up at his partner, "Whats so funny Black?" "Nothing White...nothing at all...."
Nayana opened the door and got out of the SUV, her robes making a swishing sound as she began to walk towards the front door. Inder saw the military vehicle aproach and looke to Aislin who was on yet another circut of the living area. He made his way to the door and opened it, taking in the image of Nayana passing through the gate. It was the funniest thing he'd ever seen in his life. The black robed figure dark and mysterious against the backdrop of the ideal life....he chuckled. At the sound of the door opening Aislin turned. She tried to look casual and somehow managed to look even more prepared then she already had. Simon joined Inder at the door and immediately got the joke, he too started to smirk, but stood by the door with Inder to welcome the newcomers to their house...although he took note that there were far more then originally expected. Then the image of a dark haired girl presented itself. She was beautiful...his mouth somehow managed to open slightly in disbelief....
Taking a deep breath in preparation was the only thing she could do....Sane managed to wrap her hand around the handle and open the door, sliding to the ground letting out her breath in a gust. She was nervous as it had been years since she'd even been around the military...let alone on this base.....And here she was meeting with the Eye....she wondered if her father had ever met one of the prestigious Keys....

Kalintria bounced gracefully from the truck, landing next to Virgil. She walked around him and took in the seemingly out of place colors of the house. She waited for Virgil, watching Nayana pass directly through the gate to the house.
Sasuke pulled the keys from the ignition and jumped from the truck, effectively shutting his door in one swift motion. He walked around to Blaire and Hunter's side. Blaire waited patiently for Sane, knowing how tough this might be. She slid out slowly behind her. Hunter jumped from the truck and walked up to Sasuke. She had not realized the impact this adventure might have on her until she looked into the front door and spotted two men. One seemingly staring at her. Her face got really hot, and she felt a slight dry burn in her eyes. She looked up at Sasuke with fear written all over her face. Sasuke's cocky grin faded when he saw Hunter's face. He leaned down and looked into her eyes, noting their red tint. "Hunter, please calm down. We're safe here. Nothing is gonna happen, and you know it." He watched as his words took grip on her expression, but the tint in her eyes didn't seem to go away. Hunter blinked, trying to clear the burn from her sight. "I'm fine, I think... Maybe we should have not come." She gripped Sasuke's arm. "Don't leave me." She turned and began walking through the gate to the house behind Nayana. Blaire watched the exchange between Hunter and Sasuke, but this time with a little more compassion. She was not Awakened, nor had she been Marked during a very tense and bad mistake. She could not relate to these two on that level. She knew this, and accepted it. She followed them inside.

Sane saw the exchange between Hunter and Sauske, "Um....Hunter...Wait...." she could see the change starting, "Hold on...." already she was fumbling in her pockets for the chalk she kept. Nayana made it to the door and looked at inder with a sneer before walking past him, not bothering to address his presence, although the name of Aislin's son fell from her mouth with respect, "Simon...good to see you again...." She took in her surroundings, the white walls, the painting of whom she'd come to know as Lancelot.....The floral arangement on the table, a flat screen monitor hung on the wall...and everything seemed to have the same logo on it...She figured it had something to do with the rank of the Eye. Finally she addressed Aislin, "Hello...." The religious representative looked at Nayana with a smile, "Thank you for accepting my invitation....please....sit down..." she motioned towards the couch. Nayana sat down, enjoying the softness of the microfiber fabric against her hands, she'd never experienced such a feeling, "This is an interesting texture...what is it?" Nayana asked, it was seldom when she would resort to simplistic questions, but she did indeed enjoy the feeling of it beneath her hands.
As soon as The Shield smelled the cigarette he was out the door. He looked at each of the people coming up the walk and figured the gate was just as good a place to intercept them as the door, his hand rested on his gun even though he was more interested in getting a tabacco stick and smoking along with the fiery haired girl...he'd not been able to have one for a while since he was trying to calm Aislin's nerves.
He couldn't take his eyes from her, even after he saw the girl notice his attentions he couldn't look away. She was....so....finally he was able to shake himself alert as Seth walked up beside him. "I wouldn't hold the door for the humans...it gives them a sense of importance that is very unbecoming of a lower class...." Simon looked at his darker haired brother and sighed, "You shouldn't say that...you don't know that they are all humans....that one isn't." he gestured to Hunter, "See? Those are mother's brands...." "Joy..." he rolled his eyes and made his way to the kitchen where his mother hand managed to put out some hor'd ourves for her guests....and even a few bottles of wine....
Manic continued to puff away, completely undisturbed by the situation...she took note of Inder's approach and leaned close to Black, "How much you want to bet thats the Sheild?" He looked at the man, and nodded, "Yeah.....so?" "Watch...he'll come smoke with me."
He offered his arm, "Shall we darlin? Its time to meet this VIP of this world."

Hunter spun around and looked at Sane. "What is it?" She was still trying to blink through the burn that seemed to fog up her sight. Blaire and Sasuke stay with Hunter and Sane, watching as she fumbled around in her pockets.
Kalintria took Virgil's arm and with a smile and a bounce in her step, she began following the path to the house. She barely glanced at all the kids on the way, as they all seemed very stressed at the meeting. She leaned to Virgil as she walked. "I guess we should consider ourselves special then." She started to giggle.

Finally she felt a piece come to her fingers and held it up in victory, then sombered "Hunter....come with me....Sauske, go inside and keep them from coming out here....okay?" She looked at Manic and waited for the eye contact.
The alchemist was lucky that her partner was looking in that direction as she blew out a puff of smoke, she nodded her understanding and started towards Inder, mumbling to black something about "hold on.... something's up...." then loudly to Inder, "Oi! You're the infamous Inder Balade aren't you? Hero of the Awakened?" Upon hearing his name, being proceeded by the term infamous, Inder stood a little taller, "Yes I am..." he saw that sane and hunter were talking but considering their age didn't take them as s threat so he sauntered over to Manic, his hand finally finding his pockets and then a pack of smokes, "What have you heard?" and with that his back was officially to Sane. Job well done she thought to herself and mentaly patted herself on the back. The two began talking about his many military achievements. Black was watching the whole exchange with interest. He'd seen Manic fight, and knew her intimately as well...but never had he see her act as a decoy for something...he was suprised and as white opened his mouth to say something, put out a hand to still him.
Aislin explained that the fabric was micro fiber, then smiled again, "I could get some for you, if you'd like...our robes are very much the same style" she gestured at her own attire, "I could have some made in the fabric for you...in black of course..." she added haistily seeing Nayana's face go blank in disbelief. Nayana nodded, "I would appreciate that...yes....Now down to business....I'm not here for any Marking...as i believe I made clear before, but....i belive your military could use a good mind and a solid advantage...Based on what you were telling me, there have been some problems with uprisings amongst the people is this correct?" "Yes..." her face became sad, "Many people feel as you do, about the Marking's not being good-" "I never said that. I simply said i wouldn't do it...I have my Mark from my own God...and i've learned not to anger dieties....but please continue...." Aislin composed herself, talking about her work always seemed to calm her, "Yes...i apologize i didn't mean to imply anything by it. The situation is this: the people feel that Marking is unfair, as i explained before, and it is due to that fact that they have little rebellious groups that have been known to do damage to shipments, files...computer hackers, bombers....many things along those lines." "And i'll be your eyes and ears on the streets then...." She smiled, "Its a role i play well...friends to the derilichs and urchins....if you look outside your window I'm sure you will see a few of my less desireable traveling companions...Hardly what i would call Military Grade....but they are on the streets....I will control you're little uprisings. They won't stop, but you'll be prepared for them well in advance...."
While not staring directly, Simon still had his eyes on Hunter and Sane both now, especially when he saw that the girl with the glasses was holding something. He squinted his eyes in an attempt to see better what she had in her hand but that didn't help at all. He sighed, this was going to be difficult, now all he had to do was build up the courage to introduce himself...but instead he was approached by Virgil and Kalintria, "Hello again, Miss Galanodel...Mr. Sawyer...." he nodded to them, "there is food in the kitchen...if you are hungry. I believe Seth is there as well...." Virgil nodded, "Well thank you kindly sir, but there is no need to fall into all that now on account of us....though the mage might feel differently about it...we are just aveage folk..." He smiled and looked him in the eyes. "Um...weren't you're eyes blue?"

Sasuke nodded to Sane, knowing full well he could trust her. He looked over at Blaire with a smile. "Shall we?" He held out his arm for her. Blaire shrugged and took Sasuke's arm. She decided to put the sourness behind her and take full advantage of the luxury they have been giving. They seem to be having free reign on the city today, and she was becoming happier at her fortune. Sasuke and Blaire walked over to the door and stood behind Virgil and Kalintria, waiting to enter. All the while, Sasuke's large physique effectively hid Hunter and Sane from view.
Hunter relaxed once she no longer felt the man's eyes on her so heavily, and she looked directly at Sane. Well as well as she could make her out, the fog seemed unrelenting in her gaze. "Do you know who he is, Sane?" She was blushing with the fire of her talent blazing under her skin. It was obvious he had been staring at her, and the thoughts of why played heavily on her mind. None of which pointed to her beauty, but more so to the brands on her left cheek.
Kalintria bowed formally to Simon. She internally rolled her eyes and sighed at the thought of being in the same room again with Seth. That boy always seemed to get on her last nerve with his cocky attitude. Courage was an admirable quality, but cockiness made her skin crawl. She kept her expression in a flawless smile though when speaking to Simon. "He is feeling a bit tired from our journey, I think. This world is different from the previous one we were in, and is taking a bit of getting accustomed to, if you get my meaning." She was not sure if her words made any sense to the boy, but she was simply blabbering anyways to keep Simon from asking too many questions.
