So, I've been lurking around Ravelry for a while now, (which, in a way, explains my horribly absence from Gaia), and I was amazed by all the SWAPS that they had going on!

Then I got to thinking,why not start a SWAP here on Gaia? Most of us are in the same age range, ergo we won't have to worry about being partnered up with a much older crafter (not that that is a bad thing, but I've started to notice that older generations of knitters/crocheters have different tastes of yarn, patterns, etc than the younger generations do.)

So, my beautiful awesome guildmates, what do you think?

I've seen a few swap things going on and I do think they are a great idea.
There was a swap thread in the textiles and crafts fourms but I'm not sure if it's still going on.

The only downfall I think is if poeple don't live in the same country that the postage might cost a lot.
But its still a great idea.

theres also a swap thread in the arts and crafts forum and craftster does swaps as well biggrin

following their rules a swap would be a great success :O

For anyone who wants to do a swap I'd say browse

Craftster

and browse these multi threads:

craftster organized Swap forum

find an organizer someone you can trust with personal information

Keep records and keep a theme in mind.

and find enough people and no one can flake.
we don't have swap angels here like craftster so I suggest craftster "GAIA" swap may be feasible but you would have to meet all the requirements so sign up now if you haven't! you need at least one months membership! and you have to post! You need at least 15 I think.
plus you can connect with other maybe even more craftier people that on Gaia. I simply adore it.

But dont get me wrong I LOVE YOU GUYS. Craftster just feels a little safer ya know?
