Damian sat at the small pond looking into the small pond with small creatures in it.
"I am a god compared to these in this pond!"
He flicks the water with his tale annoyed, the one thing he hated the most running around in his mind. It was a birth defect, he had to find out the hard way, and eventually got lost from his family, who never bothered to look for him, his fathers hatred, his mothers embarrassed face when she had to explain why he couldn't play at night with his brothers sisters and all the rest of the children. He was always the weak Damian, the useless Damian. If they only saw him now! he has taught himself to use sent and intuition in the dark, he was the strongest of his friends! no one looks down on him, tho, Ruby is getting pretty good, that last fight was crazy how fast she took down the enemy. He sat now just meditating, not expecting to be disturbed.

The butterfly dragon had just finished killing and cleaning the rabbit. Even so there was no speck of blood on his skin to be found. Zareth was a graceful hunter and a graceful eater. To him elegance was everything, it was how he lived and because of his own preferences his family kicked him out. Now he was on a journey, a journey to find his soul mate, to find a wonderful male that would love him for who he was.
Silently he moved through the bush to the pond he had past a few yards back from his meal. He needed to clean himself up, to make sure there was no blood under his claws, for dried blood always irritated his skin. Yet when he returned to the pond he had past he came upon the scene with the demonic griffen. He stopped keeping to the brush as he watched the male. He had met a few griffens in his travels, many lead thier own peaceful lives, yet this one seemed a bit distraught. What brought that on was he flicked the water with his tail. The dragon had heard what he had said before hand. During his journeys he had learned differently.
When the male sat down he finally made his presence known. "Taking your anger out on the pond isn't going to make things better," He spoke calmly as his talons silently hit the ground as he moved towards the edge of the pond. As he walked he carried himself with a sense of elegance. Once at the edge he took a small drink before washing his front claws with in it. "I can tell you one thing, you are no god compared to these creatures which dwell here. Yes you may be bigger then them, but they too decide what they wish to do with their lives." His deep pink butterfly wings shifted on his back as he dropped his head down to take yet another drink from the pond waters.

Damian looked at the dragon annoyed with what he said.
"I may not be a god, but if i could, i could destroy them all, now is that not playing god?"
He lost interest in this conversation, he knew he would lose so he dropped it fast.
"So dragon, what is your birth name?"
He watched the dragon wash himself carefully and gracefully.
"You move like a woman, what happened to your manliness?"
He was confused, never seen this behavior before and wondered what caused it.... this dragon had a back bone, he liked that in people, even if they did not act like men. He stood up and stretched.
"So, what are you doing around these parts, it's dangerous to be alone, I don't sense any other dragons presence, unless my smell is going as well... "
He looked down feeling even more useless, He laid back down closer to the dragon, which was strange for him, liking company? Oh well, he probably was just getting sick.

"No," He replied back calmly, "It just makes you a murderer for killing an innocent creature without reason. As stated before you are no god compared to them. Every creatures has its own right to live. You should not kill more then needed to be consumed to sustain yourself." His head tilted towards the clear blue sky. So the griffen had no back bone if he couldn't continue a conversation he had obviously started. No faith in his own words eh?
Zareth's head turned towards Damian as the questions flew from his mouth. Spineless, arrogant and rude. As the griffen moved towards him Zareth took a few steps away from him, nope this male was defiantly not his type. He didn't even know what his type was like even so this griffen annoyed him to great lengths.
"Asking for anothers name with out giving your own first is quite rude," Zareth huffed showing his annoyance towards the male. It was a bit of a pet peeve of his, that and the attitude of the male was getting on his nerves. "I do not need to tell a spineless, arrogant and rude male such as yourself a thing!" He replied with a half annoyed hiss. He threw his head with a huff and began to stalk off.

"Spineless because I choose not to fight you? You want a real fight and I will take you down. Best watch your words around this spineless one. Now I admit I can be rude, but thats because thats what the past taught me to be. You seem the rude one, talking to me like that? Maybe not everyone grew up with a silver spoon up their asses like you did? Ever think about that?"
He sat down looking into the sky wonder what everyone was up to... him stuck here with this stuck up snob of a dragon, pisses him off, but, people have pissed him off before, like Lori, but in the end they had a clutch together. four babies now. Two were born to wonder so he doubted they will stay with the group, but the other two seem to like it. We are one big family. He gave a conversation another try,to see if this snob would be normal after getting over his RUDENESS. But how the hell is he supposed to know whats right and wrong?
"Okay, my name is Damian, I don't know proper manors, so I hope you forgive me for all my mistakes. But I assure you, I am far from spineless, I just don't like arguing. What I was saying, being able to let something live, or decide to kill it, it's playing god, not really being god." He let his tale slip into the water. Do you see any dead creatures here? And isn't it rude to listen to other peoples conversations, even if its with himself??"
He chose to not start a fight, just to stay calm, he has learned staying calm works much better then yelling and fighting, though, he did like to fight physically....He loved it, he knows how to kill, cripple and just out smart most creatures he ever met, including this male dragon that threatened Diana and the babies a few weeks back.
"So, what are you doing in these parts? I'm here to relax and just calm down, I wouldn't really kill these creatures, I was just saying so calm down about that. I only kill when needed, unless they threaten my family."
He laid back down, breathing in the sweet smell of fall, and splashing his tail around in the water.

He stopped in his tracks and glanced over his shoulder at the griffen, "no spineless that you start a conversation on one topic but drop it so quickly feeling you might lose. This dragon has no reason to physically fight you. Nor does he care for fighting." Zareth replied back still calm as ever. "If you ever find one who has grown up with a silver spoon under their a** I would sure like to meet them. He lifted his dark pink eyes to the sky before he turned himself around and faced the griffen.
"Its a pleasure to meet you Damian, you may call me Zareth" He replied back his own introduction, giving a small bow of his head. Zareth made no comment to his next statement "I had no intention to hear your conversation with yourself. It just happened when I returned to clean my claws." He took a few moments in thought titling his head back towards the sky once more. "I'm in search of one who will love me for who I am," He finally replied back. The dragon's head darted towards the griffen as he mentioned having a family. "Whats it like? having a family I mean?"

"I wasn't changing the topic because I was afraid I would lose, I did it to stop us from an argument"
He looked at the dragon, seeing the loneliness in his eyes.
"Well, see my family is different then regular families. We don't have a mate, but we do love each other, so every now and then a clutch is born. Lori and I used to fight, she'd call me the biggest a**hole she had ever met, but then she got to know the real me. Apparently woman like guys who have had rough lives and are handi....."**clears his throat** "So my family is a bunch of gryphens that came together, kind of accidentally. But in a regular family, you have a mate, and have a clutch, and raise them, and then they stay or leave. We have a clutch and the mothering gryphen takes over. Watches the eggs and babies. That would be Diana. Our family isn't what everyone likes, we aren't what you would call a clan, but we are happy and open with each other."
He stretched then looked up at the sun making sure it wasn't getting late.
"If you want, if you are alone, we would all welcome you in, as long as you mean no harm, you are welcome. There are 5 babies right now tho, mine just hatched. The two that took after me the most are leaving, I can tell in their eyes, but the other two i think might stay. But yea, you will be well fed and protected."
He looked at the Dragon in the face.
"That is a very interesting name, does it have a meaning behind it? And what are you looking for in a mate? Does she have to pretty too?? ugh not saying you are pretty >.< But yea."
He smiled at the Dragon.

"Being alone doesn't bother me. I've always been alone." He replied back. Though staying for a while might not be a bad idea. He would get to see how a family worked, helping to watch over little ones might be fun. It would be a first time experience for him. His head tilted to the sky as he lost himself with in these thoughts.
After a while the dragon turned himself towards the griffen. "If my name has a meaning I have forgotten it. I was very young when they kicked me out of the nest. You asked before where my manliness went, it seems I never had any to begin with." He paused his butterfly wings shifting on his back a bit antsy to get on the move once more. This had been the longest he had stayed in one place.
"My preference for a mate is in men." He whispered back it probably sounded odd to the griffen. "I would prefer if he was handsome, but he does not need to be, all that matters is his personality. I have a strong dislike for women, seeing as mother was the one who decided I was unfit for the family." It was the first time he had spoken of this with another, why he was doing so was quite unknown to him.

"Oh you like guys, interesting, I don't see any problem with that, some men and some woman pair up in my family too."
He closed his eyes not wanting to say what he was going to say next, his stomach twisted and he felt sick.
"But yea, I was left behind and I guess not important enough when I was young, everyone made fun of me, my father was disgusted, my mother looked down on me because well...i can't see at night, I'm blind. I can see the stars tho, but everything else is pitch black. But I have taught myself to fallow with my ears, and we rarely fight alone, I fallow them.... I feel so weak, it's my secret, only a few know in my family, mostly because I'm too embarrassed to admit something is wrong with me."
He shifted and flapped his wings.
None of my kids Have gotten it tho, I heard my mother blaming my father for dropping the egg and i was sub, merged in ice cold water in my early egg life while I was developing, so I guess that's what happened. My kids see very well at night, it makes me very happy and I come by them telling how proud I am of them, they look at me like a cold hard rock with no emotions and I guess when I complement them it really makes them smile. I'm really a big softy for the ones I love."
He bends over to drink abit of water.
"Yea, my family is very diff from normal gryphs, but I wouldn't change it in anyway, you will probably given a job if you join, but Zakkie will let you choose, we all go to choose. The kids would love you tho. They never met a dragon besides that one tried to eat them, but you will be liked, because they respect who I respect because well, I'm a hard headed old grouch." He laughed and stretched again.

"So its common among griffens?" he questioned. It was quite uncommon among dragons seeing as there were few of them in the world to begin with. Most saw that they had to mate to keep the population in balance, and maybe have it so they weren't so rare. He nodded as the griffen told his story, yet as he saw it those who are truly worth wild in the world saw with their hearts rather then with their eyes.
"I haven't said if I was going to stay with your or not." Zareth replied back. His head tilted to the sky once more, night was drawing nearer. "I think I want to try it for a few days before I make my decision." After all he was meant to travel in search of his own beloved.

"Oh, I was just saying you are welcome, and its not common, but we do what feels right and don't judge others."
He smiled slightly at the dragoon.
"If you need to look for a loved one, go for it, I found my family that way. I told my family I would be staying here for next few nights by myself to just think about things and just relax. Just had a fight between that dumb dragon, and before that it was there rogue gryphens trying to eat our lil Lilly! Shes so innocent, gave her nightmares."
Damian wondered how Lilly was doing?"
"Lilly probably thinks I am angry at her, I just am not really good at showing my feelings to my family, i barely know how to smile." He paused then laughed. "Don't ever get Ruby mad at you, she crippled that poor gryphen that she took on, when she fights, she tries to end it fast. Tho Ruby is very sweet so I doubt she would get mad, i just would not wanna be on the other side of a fight with her." He stops and thinks. Here I am going on about my family and you don't have one....." He trailed of then switched subjects. "So do you have a type of dragons you are interested in, I have no clue what you call yourself I just call them, 1--butterfly, 2--Horned, 3--not horned. No offense to your kind. I think all are great, must make friends with some more, I bet you guys are good fighters, we could practice sometime, tho, I have to say, I will win." He laughed then went quiet. "...unless its dark and no-one is making noise."
He noticed the sky darkening, shivers swept across his body.
"Are you leaving here now? If you are, I will be here for well I was only going to stay for a few days but I will stay longer to relax my nerves. So if you are leaving, come back here okay? And maybe we can plan to bring well you bring your lover and i will bring one of my family, I would say Zakkie but she is leader and likes eyes on all the family. But yea, we could meet back here as a friend spot between you and I." He tried smiling again.
Oh, another reason I have no issue with you liking guys is because I have many times, and woman, One guy I was with, we wanted a clutch of our own, but then a snobby clan came up and asked him to join, they almost had me join until they found out about my handy cap and was told to basically get lost or they were going to get rid o=f my pathetic life. My lover said nothing, but I could see in his eyes he wasn't happy, but deep in his heart he yearned for a clan so I left. I was only young tho, now I would take on that clan ." He sighs.

"You really ask to many questions for your own good," Zareth commented softly "Plus I have a suggestion. Try organizing your thoughts before you speak." He was a stranger and he wondered why the griffen kept feeling compelled to talk of his family. All he did was ask a simple question, he didn't need the exact details. "Well this little chat has been pleasant." He replied and gave a small bow before heading off. "We may or may not meet again, so long Damien."
With that the elegant form of the butterfly dragon began to disappear with in the coming darkness. He would walk for a while before deciding to find a place to sleep. He did need to make up time for time lost at the pond. His journey wasn't over and wouldn't end for a while, he knew that for sure.

Damian looks at the dragon, amazed at how rude he is to g=him," pft, see you" he spat in annoyance and laid his head down deep in thought.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hey Corgey, pazzzz another purple one to me.....ohhhhh i taste the colours and they taste beautiful!" The pink female dragon said to the blue whos name must be Corgey. "Hey hey slow down girl, we only have....." He looked behind him. " Thousands left!!" He rolls over laughing. the male red dragon looked over at Corgey. "I think you are a lil bit um....whats the word........." He looks of into space and gets stuck in that pose for quite some time forgetting why he was looking into space. the female stood up walked around the fire landing onto the blue dragon. "Common Corgey, you lvvvvvv me right?" She kisses him. "ahhhh, you know I do -.-" Pouting for no reason and hands her a large purple mushroom. The Blue dragon looks at Riv still stuck in that position. "Riv, Riv, come back down, down Riv"
The red dragon closes his eyes then opened them. "Whoa, okay, I'm back, yu-yu-yur lucky to have a mate, I'm soooooo lonely" Then looked back into the sky "pass me a brown one, its really smooooth...""Here you go buddy... Slow down shelly, I'm not going there infront of Riv!" You don't Love me do you !" "Yes I love you, you are the sexiest dragon i will ever see in my life!" He hugs her, and she smiles.

Zareth walked for quite sometime before he came across the scene with the three dragons. Avoiding them was an option but it would take more time to go around, plus he was feeling his exhaustion come onto him. Going past the three would take less time thus moving him closer to finding a place to rest for the night. So he took the chance and moved out of the brush and into the clearing they were in, as he moved he moved with grace his bright pink butterfly wings sparkling in the moonlight.

Riv heard footsteps and looks at the black and pink dragon. "oh, ugh welcome miss" He blushes abit calming down from acting stupid.
Shelly looked across at the fire and feels threatened and growls, then stops and giggles "Hi stranger"
Corgey looks over and looks at the dragons wings, hiding his reaction from shelly. "Hi new one, would you like a mushroom, just to give ya a lil kick into the right mood, we have a ton and arnt planning on selling them yet, so you might as try a few, the brown ones are very smooth, purples makes you see colors and yellows, well, they are trippy, but you gotta be good at those, you might have a bad trip and see things crawling on you." Looks at Shelly, she grumbles at him for reminding her of those magots.
"yea theres some room next to riv" She points at the empty spot and riv looks away like a shy baby.
