Who’s Afraid? Rank: One Antagonist: Big Bad Wolf NPC Accompaniment: Yes Souls available: Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE Perigod, France. It was supposed to be a city known for its foods, right? Arashi was looking forward to tasting the cuisine Perigod had to offer once this mission was over. After the mission was a key word in that sentence. Could the Death Scythe gone out earlier to test the food before arriving to the meeting spot? Darn right he could have, and that morning he was determined to leave early to give himself ample time. Then one way or another, Arashi began practicing his violin and was so entranced in playing its sweet notes that he thought Hey, I can just leave a little later. Nothing wrong with that!
Instead of spending a couple of hours at various restaurants before the arrival time, Arashi was now idly waiting for the two that had accepted this particular mission. Having entered only a few minutes before, he simply leaned against a fence, arms resting on the wood and eyes focused on the empty dirt path.

For all Isztivans careful consideration at the mission pick up board, it had all ended up having quite the opposite effect. He had figured for their first mission as a team they'd go somewhere Dominique was more familiar with, but he should have released Dom wouldn't have appreciated a mission that just happened to be in the same country as he was from.
"I just thought you'd have liked it, geez" Isztivan argued, though in a tone that expressed how strained this had become. The same argument had already happened between the pair multiple times during the trip to get to France.
"I told you I didn't live out in the country" Dom crossed his arms avoiding looking at his partner, a frown on his face, they both marched along the dirt path.
"But it's, like, you neck of the woods? Right?"
"Hmph" Dom muttered something in French under his breath. Beneath his grumpiness he was afraid, his first time truly fighting, he was supposed to be the weapon and Isztivan was relying on him. Maybe if he'd had some say in the mission choice he wouldn't have been quite so shaky on the inside.
Isztivan thought it best to avoid this any further for fear of messing up their resonance, especially on their first mission. He waved at the figure ahead, assuming it would be the staff from school, there wouldn't be much other reason to be out at this time of the evening.

Arashi donned his headphones, slender hands loosely cupping it. Was it him, or was the pair taking a while to arrive? He figured it was him. The man certainly had not a probably with waiting. He was patient and could wait however long, but just standing there and doing nothing was boring. He blamed human ancestors for this. Curse their hunting past. If only they were vegetarians, then maybe everyone wouldn’t be so prone to fidgeting.
Eyes still glued to the horizon, he managed to spot a pair of bobbing heads. Just his luck, a few seconds after blasting his music and the two had finally come into his view. Shifting his head to the side as one of them waved at him, he lifted a hand to acknowledge their presence. Once they were within hearing distance he called out to them, “Isztvian and Dominique, correct?” Who else could they be? No two boys would bother to trek out into the country without a solid reason. “I’m Arashi, your staff accompaniment. Your target is a man going by the name Big Bad Wolf. Yadda yadda. You read the mission description, did you not?”
He grandly gestured towards the road, signaling for them to move in that direction. “Your mission has officially started. Good luck!”

Dominique suppressed his, albeit it next to impossible to see by his face, anger towards Isztivan. He only gave a nod when addressed to by the unfamiliar member of staff. Isztivan opted to go with. "Yep that's us!" And giving Dom a pat on the shoulder as he did so. Though expected a little bit more help from someone who was sent explicitly to help them in some way, evidentially not.
For a moment they stopped in front of Arashi, exchanging a glance that could only mean they where mentally asking each other what to do next.
"Well, go weapon mode? Just to be safe?" Isztivan said after an awkward pause.
"Oh, Q-qui" Dominique flashed bright blue and was replaced by a huge, unwieldy ninja star behind held by it's centre on Isztivan's arm.
Isztivan wasn't good at the whole soul perception thing, but he could feel Dominique's wavelength was off, it was normally small and meek by comparison to his own, but now it was spiked in a way, it wanted to reject him. Though anger wasn't the emotion he sensed, fear. He sighed, the only way Dom was going to over come this was by doing, he did sign up for it after all.
He walked slowly down to path Arashi had pointed to, he held Dom up defensibly in front of him.

During the first few moments it seemed that the pair was at a lost of what to do next. Arashi didn’t understand why because the objective was simple enough: find and dispose of the target. Was it really that hard to comprehend? He was even kind enough to point them in Big Bad Wolf’s – by the way, what kind of sane man called himself that? Really – general direction. Each pair was different though, so each one reacted differently on missions. A bored sigh and he watched the weapon transform into a giant ninja star. Arashi lowly whistled and cocked his eyebrows, admiring the size.
They then began to head towards the direction he pointed them to and he waved them off before diverting all of his attention to his music, idly looking through his song list.
For a while the two saw nothing particularly eye-catching, as expected of the countryside. Yellow-green grass as far as the eye could see, cattle and other various farm animals idly munching on plants and lounging around the fields. After a few minutes of following the trail the pair could spot a bright red house up ahead.
As luck would have it, a man was walking up the steps. He knocked on the door, his lips forming words neither of the two could hear. Seconds later he howled and rammed into the door, forcing it open and stalking into the house, terrified screams echoing.

If metal was capable of blushing in embarrassment, Dominique certain would have at Arashi' whistle. There was something defiantly off-putting about having such a oversized and cumbersome weapon form. But Isztivan seemed to manage just fine, at least, in training he did...
He moved along the dirt path, probably paying more attention to keeping his eye on the grass and other things that there was no chance of their target being hidden behind. Isztivan was easily as nervous as Dominique, though for slightly different reasons.
Doms reflect appeared on the shiny surface, only his face appearing along one of his his. "Isztivan..." His voice giving a odd metallic echo as he spoke though he was immediately interrupted by Isztivan breaking into a run on seeing what was undoubtedly the Wolf. "C-C-Careful!" The reflection shook.
Moving into the threshold of the door, reaching in wielding Dom first, his width making impossible to enter otherwise Isztivan stepped inside, ready and holding Dom in the best position he could manage to both throw and use him in close quarters.

If the pair had been hoping to rescue the helpless family that dwelled in the home, they were far too late. Their target had his hunching back towards them, his burly body towering over the fallen body of a woman whose limbs twisted at unnatural angles. The pupils of her eyes contrasted against the splash of blood that her corpse lay in. Unfortunately, she was not the only dead body in the room. Streaks and splatters of crimson red trailed the floor and handprints smeared the walls. Three other gnarled and tangled bodies littered the room. Despite the morbid scene, one had to admire the killer’s quick speed.
He slowly turned his head towards Dominique and Isztivan. A smirk graced his lips, revealing peculiarly-sharp canine teeth. They ominously gleamed as the Wolf shifted his body to completely face the weapon and technician, clutching an axe that was covered in fresh blood. The man took a slow step in their direction, eagerly grinning. “Didn’ think anybody else woulda come ‘ere. Wha’ a su’prise, eh?” he chuckled in a deep voice and swung his weapon at them.

Dominique's wavelength shrank, the scene he'd been focused to view through his metal form had done nothing for his confidence in this. Isztivan otherwise larger wavelength wavered, though continued it's job of feeding Doms, maintaining their balance. It had a lot of compensate for.
"Iz...Iz..." Came a wimper. It was impossible to properly turn away when in his current form he had no ability to move on his own. He shook in place.
Isztivan could only offer his soul, it's warmth to comfort him, he couldn't bring himself to speak either. Only silently motion it'd be all right and he'd pull them through this.
Sparks flew, Doms sharp edges knocking the axe back. He made a define wincing sound. Dom knew full well he couldn't be hurt quite the same way in weapon for mas he could as a human, but contact with a enemies axe was hardly made any more comforting even with that knowledge.

There was the pleasing sound of clashing metal, and the Big Bad Wolf howled with laughter when his small, beady eyes saw a shower of sparks rain from shuriken against axe. Yes, this was it! The thrill of a fight. The thrill of wanting to kill a particularly stubborn prey would only satisfy the man even more. He took pleasure in the feeling of adrenaline pumping in his veins, relishing the sensation of being in danger and close to death, yet not quite yet there.
He pulled back his axe, chuckling. “Co’ on, boy! Dat all yo’ got? Sureleh yo’ve got more power dan dat!” the Wolf remarked in a booming voice. Then the murderer raised his axe high into the air, the blade glinting in the light and brought it back down for another blow.

Isztivan couldn't say he felt the same way, right now he was far too concerned with keeping Dom as safe as he could despite using him as his main method of attack. His own wavelength flickered haphazardly, and though Dom wouldn't admit it, he felt the same way, without Isztivan might have already been hurt.
Dom was far to big to be used inside, not in here. He'd need a wide area to be able to properly swing him, he could only defend for now. But now the wolfs swing gave him a chance, he jumped backwards to avoid it, back towards the door he'd entered through. Dom would probably be able to focus on his resonance without the bloody mess in sight.

The Big Bad Wolf did not pay attention to the trembling wavelengths the two radiated. He did not have an eye for such things. Even if the killer did, it would not have interested him. Nothing useful came from pulsating auras. So what if his enemy was afraid? So what if his enemy was angry? It would not change what he would do. Everything the Wolf did was for the hell of it!
He expected another resonating clash of metal against metal, but the sound never came. All his weapon met was thin air as the Wolf’s target stepped back to dodge his swing. A grunt and he took another slow step forward and towards Isztivan. “Runnin’ ‘way now, are ya, boy?” he grumbled before leaning forward for a second swing.

Isztivan grinned, he could get sort of used to this, though it was more the satisfaction of outwitting his opponent. Dom was too focused on maintaining his link with his partner.
Now might be his only chance, the wolf was distracted, and overly confident, falling for his bluff and thinking he intended to run away. Really he'd failed to notice how much easier it would be to attack with his own weapon, Dominique. It was a risky move, but now was his best shot, time to use Dom as his weapon form was intended to be used.
"Try not to panic Dom"
Dom had no time to react or protest, before his reflection to reappear he was sent flying, spinning and waist height at the wolf.

Poor Wolf never saw it coming. Brimming with confidence and complacent with the thought that Isztivan was running away, he never considered the idea that there was an underlying reason to his going outside.
One moment he was eagerly stepping towards the boy and beginning to raise his axe for a second attack, and the next the giant star in Isztivan’s hands had disappeared, spinning through the air and towards Wolf. The blade dug straight into his stomach and the man choked. His grasp on his weapon loosened and it fell to the ground with a large thud. Hands weakly grasped the star; with great effort Wolf eventually pulled it out with a sickening, sliding sound, blood and guts raining from the gaping wound. A gargled cough and the life left his eyes, the burly man dropping over.
“A bloodier mess than I thought it would be, but a good job nonetheless,” remarked Arashi, arms crossed as he walked up to Isztivan. A small red soul bobbed above the corpse and the Death Scythe motioned for them to collect it. “Collect the soul and your mission will have officially ended.”

Isztivan didn't look, he cringed at the sound already on the impact. Dom would have too if he was able.
Returning to human form the spike of the that had pierced the wolf had translated over to be Doms left arm. He trembled and looked visibly paler than he was before and he stared at the blood tricking down his arm.
"...D-désolé" He just sort of stared off into the distance at no one in particular, clear distraught by what had happened.
"...Dom..."
If there was an end to that sentence Dom wouldn't have heard it anyway. He passed out at the gory sight into Isztivans arms just as he was reaching to try and console him.
Isztivan gave a apologetic look to Arashi that seemed to read "Sorry about him, he'll be okay once he comes too". Dom could figure out how souls tasted to him later once he was concious again.

The one thing Arashi was not expecting to happen was one of the students to faint. Well, this was a first. In the past there had been cases of technicians or weapons passing out after their first mission due to the aftershock, but this was the first time such an incident had happened under his supervision. Personally, the man found it nothing too worrisome. He had to admit that this mission in particular was a bit bloodier than most rank one missions. Arashi walked over to the pair and warily eyed the unconscious Dominique.
“You sure he’s okay?” he questioned.
Then he shrugged. Oh well! Neither of them was physically hurt. The trauma could be fixed with a little bit of rest and time. He was not troubled about the weapon’s state. “Anyways, your mission is now over. Congratulations.”
