Edited: Well I learned how to "snake", but the cheapness of getting my a** kicked still exists. Every now and then I encounter a player who uses shells on me way too often. And some other things, like the blue shell being used on Rainbow Road at the wrong times, are just too annoying. Gah! Even the hard difficulty CPU's can't stack up to the madness online. I might as well just not play against random players anymore.....-.-;

Yep you heard that right. Here I am playing against random Kart players online, and these cheap idiots.....argh!!! They win too easily just by skidding, even on straight parts of a course! And they seem to take this competition thing too seriously: I'm one of the rare few who only wants to have fun.
fun's what it's all about, my friend. and the whole skidding on straight courses isn't cheap. it's just something players use to get in the lead at the moment because alot of people have yet to master it.

Gah. Snaking isn't cheap. It's an easily learned skill. Go to Luigi's Circuit (GC) or Figure 8 and practice it.

Have to learn snaking in steps really, cant just go from not at all to all the time. First I would use it around corners, then at parts in the track i felt safe doing it, now almost all the time. Its a snake or be snaked world now. xd

Sadly, yeah. I'm more annoyed by drafters riding on my tail then that though. Also I lose the most races despite dominated for the first two laps when I'm hit by a blue shell & then a red one before I could even recover from the blue. Online play depends too heavily on items than actual driving skill to me.

I don't remember snaking being in the manual... That and the fact that the staff ghosts don't, so why bother? If anyone here has ever converses with NOA Rufus ask him. He thinks it's really dumb when people snake and he works for nintendo.

same, it breaks ones spirit to pwn people then lose from items at the last second. This is MUCH more annoying than snaking IMO, snaking requires skill, getting lucky items does not.

Snaking is awesome.
Just another skill that players use.

Well I tried it. Truth be told snaking can lead to mixed results depending on your skill level. Sometimes it led me to good things and sometimes bad, but overall it really comes down to how often you've played Mario Kart.....

It also depends on the kart you're using. High accel/Handling is a must.

I've beaten snakers easily without needing to snake. Just hit them with a well-placed object and they'll be out of commision for a bit.
