It seems at the conference between doctors, Intact America made them see circumcision in a new light, meaning they helped to dispel the idea to recommend it for all newborn boys. They told me in an email their biggest help were people sharing their personal stories as to why they oppose circumcision.

Last month at the annual AAP and AAFP conferences, we had literally hundreds of conversations with doctors, some infuriating but, thankfully, some gratifying. At the end of the day, these one-on-one conversations are absolutely essential to our movement.
With the Centers for Disease Control and two professional medical associations all reviewing their policies on circumcision, we can't afford to miss a single opportunity – whether it means sending our staff to Atlanta to pressure officials at the CDC, or being on the ground for critical local events like these!

...babies are just as sensitive to pain as older children and adults? Many circumcisions in the United States are performed with no pain control at all. But even when some measure of pain control is employed, the analgesics used for circumcision can only decrease pain; they do not eliminate it.
