What makes a good Si Fi?
for me it's a story that doesn't focus on the science but merely takes place in a si fi environment. e.g. Ender's Game is based in a si fi environment but focuses on the behaviour and morals of the characrters instead.
What do you think?

What do you think? Right, the book boils down to the characters and an artist who is good at developing characters is going to be more successful. Of course, I enjoy the sci fi atmosphere also but it's nothing without good characters.

For me it's new ideas that don't get to technical but make people think plus an excellent story. 1984 and Anne Mccaffery's Dragonriders of Pern are my favorites.
