 Kaius wandered through the woods, following the river at a distance of about thirty feet. Anytime he had to edge any closer, he moved very slowly as if the wind could blow him into the gentle current. Why was he so afraid of the water? He had no idea. Maybe as a child he fell in, but he didn't know for sure as he couldn't remember anything before a few years ago. He had to walk within about ten feet of the river here because the foliage was too thick. As he did so, he moved as if the river were going to reach out and grab him. He tip-toed along slowly, hugging as close to the trunks of the trees as possible, not even aware of the fact that he was near the headwaters of the river where the current was so slow he could probably lay in it and not be carried down stream. He finally managed to get back into the woods and was much happier to be trotting through the dense foliage rather than near that awful water. "I'm not getting carried away by that river, no-sir-ee, no way. I'm gonna say on land. . . where it's safe." he said to himself, trotting along happily. To any onlooker, he probably looked crazy. Hey, maybe he was, but if he was, he didn't care all that much, as long as he wasn't near that water.

 Olisha narrowed her red-orange eyes and tilted her head. She hadn't seen many 'Giet talk to themselves, but then again she hadn't met many to begin with. She roamed on her own, any who might have crossed her path either threatened her or were scared for what ever reason. Olisha never gave any of them reason to be scared of her, but it happened.
Olisha pressed on, her goal was to get to the calmest part of the river to clean herself, perhaps she would have company today.
She got closer to the tan Giet and gave a small smile.
"Hello there, my name is Olisha, nice day out, would you agree?" She looked him over to be sure he wouldn't be hostile but normally with those type, she knew before she would get close enough for them to harm her.

Kaius started and looked over at the unfamiliar female. Not completely unattractive, he observed, but he wasn't so sure about her, there was a strange air about her. He smiled and decided to take this meeting with the childish enthusiasm he took everything. . . except for water. "You scared me! I didn't know you were there!!! Hi, I'm Kaius, yeah, it is a pretty day, isn't it." He grinned, examining the stranger in front of him silently.

Olisha tilted her head when he said that she scared him. She frowned ever so slightly. She often got disappointed when she caused any discomfort for others, but she was often reserved about that. She looked passed Kaius and off to the brush she was originally headed for, perhaps he just came from that way, maybe he would want to tag along, maybe not, especially if he was already there.
"Where you coming from the river there? I was just headed there." She smiled and looked him over, his coat wasn't wet, perhaps he wasn't coming from there.

Kaius grinned at her, "I was actually aimless, I was just following the river upstream because it is easy to follow home. I'm told I have a lousy sense of direction, although I don't believe them, I always get home. . . Just not the way I thought I would." that and I was trying to figure out how to conquer my fear of running water. . . he thought, slightly shuddering at the thought of entering the river at any point. Sure he could see the bottom, but how does he know it's not really fifty feet down? Water has a magnifying quality, he couldn't be sure! He fought down the bubble of fear that had risen in his throat as he thought about it. He managed to wrestle his fear down and smile charmingly at the female in front of him. She was attractive in a powerful, adult kind of way, he thought. "Well, where were you headed?"
